³ For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.

¹⁰ Behold, this day your eyes have seen how that the LORD had delivered you to day into mine hand in the cave: and some bade me kill you: but mine eye spared you; and I said, I will not put forth mine hand against my lord; for he is the LORD's anointed.

²⁰ He has put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him: he has broken his covenant.

²² The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.

⁹ He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.

¹⁴ For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust.

⁸ He that sows iniquity shall reap vanity: and the rod of his anger shall fail.

⁵ O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation.

⁵ The LORD has broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers. ⁶ He who stroke the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hinders.

⁸ In measure, when it shoots forth, you will debate with it: he stays his rough wind in the day of the east wind.

¹³ There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that all of you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that all of you may be able to bear it.

¹⁰ Fear none of those things which you shall suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that all of you may be tried; and all of you shall have tribulation ten days: be you faithful unto death, and I will give you a crown of life.
