²⁷ Labour not for the food which perishes, but for that food which endures unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him has God the Father sealed.

⁷ I will declare the decree: the LORD has said unto me, You are my Son; this day have I begotten you.

⁷ Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,

² So that you incline your ear unto wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; ³ Yea, if you cry after knowledge, and lift up your voice for understanding; ⁴ If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hid treasures; ⁵ Then shall you understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. ⁶ For the LORD gives wisdom: out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.

¹¹ When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good is there to the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their eyes? ¹² The sleep of a labouring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep. ¹³ There is a sore evil which I have seen under the sun, namely, riches kept for the owners thereof to their hurt. ¹⁴ But those riches perish by evil travail: and he bring forths a son, and there is nothing in his hand. ¹⁵ As he came out of his mother's womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand. ¹⁶ And this also is a sore evil, that in all points as he came, so shall he go: and what profit has he that has laboured for the wind?

⁷ All the labour of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled.

¹ And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: ² And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; ³ And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:

¹ Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delights; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

² Wherefore do all of you spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfies not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat all of you that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

¹ The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; ² To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; ³ To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

¹⁶ Your words were found, and I did eat them; and your word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by your name, O LORD God of hosts.

¹³ Behold, is it not of the LORD of hosts that the people shall labour in the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves for very vanity?

¹⁷ And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

¹⁹ Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust does corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

³¹ Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? ³² (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knows that all of you have need of all these things. ³³ But seek all of you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

²⁰ And Jesus says unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man has not where to lay his head.

⁵ While he yet spoke, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear all of you him.

¹¹ And there came a voice from heaven, saying, You are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

⁷ And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

²² And the Holy Spirit (o. pneuma) descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, You are my beloved Son; in you I am well pleased.

¹⁸ The Spirit (o. pneuma) of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, ¹⁹ To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. ²⁰ And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. ²¹ And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

³⁵ And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

⁴⁰ But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. ⁴¹ And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, you are careful and troubled about many things: ⁴² But one thing is necessary: and Mary has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

³³ And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom you shall see the Spirit (o. pneuma) descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizes with the Holy Spirit. (o. pneuma) ³⁴ And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

³³ He that has received his testimony has set to his seal that God is true.

¹³ Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinks of this water shall thirst again: ¹⁴ But whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

³⁶ But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father has given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father has sent me. ³⁷ And the Father himself, which has sent me, has borne witness of me. All of you have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.

²⁸ Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? ²⁹ Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that all of you believe on him whom he has sent.

⁴⁰ And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which sees the Son, and believes on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

⁵¹ I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

⁵⁴ Whoso eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, has eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

⁵⁸ This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eats of this bread shall live for ever.

⁶⁸ Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? you have the words (o. rhema) of eternal life.

¹⁸ I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me bears witness of me.

²⁸ And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

³⁷ If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. ³⁸ But if I do, though all of you believe not me, believe the works: that all of you may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

²⁵ Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: ²⁶ And whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Believe you this?

⁴² And I knew that you hear me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that you have sent me.

⁶ Jesus says unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me.

²⁴ If I had not done among them the works which no other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

² As you have given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as you have given him.

²² All of you men of Israel, hear these words; (o. logos) Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as all of you yourselves also know:

³⁸ How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit (o. pneuma) and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

¹¹ And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:

²³ For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

¹³ Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

²⁹ But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remains, that both they that have wives be as though they had none; ³⁰ And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not; ³¹ And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passes away.

² If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are all of you in the Lord.

²⁴ Know all of you not that they which run in a race run all, but one receives the prize? So run, that all of you may obtain. ²⁵ And every man that strives for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. ²⁶ I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beats the air: ²⁷ But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

¹⁸ While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

⁶ For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision avails any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which works by love. (o. agape)

¹³ For it is God which works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

²⁹ Unto which I also labour, striving according to his working, which works in me mightily.

²² Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?

² Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

³ Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, (o. agape) and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

¹⁹ Nevertheless the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal, The Lord knows them that are his. And, Let every one that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

¹¹ Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

¹⁶ Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright.

¹¹ For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withers the grass, and the flower thereof falls, and the grace of the fashion of it perishes: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

²⁴ For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower thereof falls away:

¹⁷ For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

¹¹ Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought all of you to be in all holy conversation and godliness, ¹² Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? ¹³ Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness. ¹⁴ Wherefore, beloved, seeing that all of you look for such things, be diligent that all of you may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
