²¹ But Abishai the son of Zeruiah answered and said, Shall not Shimei be put to death for this, because he cursed the LORD's anointed? ²² And David said, What have I to do with you, all of you sons of Zeruiah, that all of you should this day be adversaries unto me? shall there any man be put to death this day in Israel? for do not I know that I am this day king over Israel?

²² Why do all of you persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?

⁷ You have not given water to the weary to drink, and you have withheld bread from the hungry.

² When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

²⁵ Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up.
