⁷ Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to your mercy remember you me for your goodness' sake, O LORD.

¹ The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

¹⁶ The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

¹⁰ Remove your stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of your hand. ¹¹ When you with rebukes do correct man for iniquity, you make his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah.

³ Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us. ⁴ We will not hide them from their children, showing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he has done.

² How long will all of you judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.

³ For my soul is full of troubles: and my life draws nigh unto the grave. ⁴ I am counted with them that go down into the pit: I am as a man that has no strength: ⁵ Free among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, whom you remember no more: and they are cut off from your hand. ⁶ You have laid me in the low pit, in darkness, in the deeps. ⁷ Your wrath lies hard upon me, and you have afflicted me with all your waves. Selah. ⁸ You have put away mine acquaintance far from me; you have made me an abomination unto them: I am shut up, and I cannot come forth. ⁹ Mine eye mourns by reason of affliction: LORD, I have called daily upon you, I have stretched out my hands unto you. ¹⁰ Will you show wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise and praise you? Selah. ¹¹ Shall your loving kindness be declared in the grave? or your faithfulness in destruction? ¹² Shall your wonders be known in the dark? and your righteousness in the land of forgetfulness? ¹³ But unto you have I cried, O LORD; and in the morning shall my prayer prevent you. ¹⁴ LORD, why cast you off my soul? why hide you your face from me?

¹² But you, O LORD, shall endure for ever; and your remembrance unto all generations.

²³ Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

¹¹ And you mourn at the last, when your flesh and your body are consumed, ¹² And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; ¹³ And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!

²² He goes after her immediately, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

⁶ Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things. ⁷ For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

⁷ The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.

³² The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous has hope in his death.

²⁸ Even a fool, when he holds his peace, is counted wise: and he that shuts his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.

²³ These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.

⁵ The fool folds his hands together, and eats his own flesh.

³ For a dream comes through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words.

¹⁸ Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. ¹⁹ If all of you be willing and obedient, all of you shall eat the good of the land: ²⁰ But if all of you refuse and rebel, all of you shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD has spoken it.

¹³ Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

¹⁷ And I will wait upon the LORD, that hides his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

²⁰ And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:

¹ And in that day you shall say, O LORD, I will praise you: though you were angry with me, your anger is turned away, and you comforted me. ² Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

¹³ The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.

¹⁴ They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore have you visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.

²² Now therefore be all of you not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.

¹⁴ The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness has surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?

²¹ Produce your cause, says the LORD; bring forth your strong reasons, says the King of Jacob.

²⁶ Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare you, that you may be justified.

²⁶ And I will feed them that oppress you with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am your Saviour and your Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

⁷ For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed. ⁸ He is near that justifies me; who will contend with me? let us stand together: who is mine adversary? let him come near to me.

²³ Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains: truly in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel.

²² Fear all of you not me? says the LORD: will all of you not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

¹⁴ They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.

²² Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?

¹⁰ But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.

¹ Righteous are you, O LORD, when I plead with you: yet let me talk with you of your judgments: Wherefore does the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously? ² You have planted them, yea, they have taken root: they grow, yea, they bring forth fruit: you are near in their mouth, and far from their reins.

¹⁰ I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

⁹ Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.

³² Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, says the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to go astray by their lies, and by their levity; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, says the LORD.

¹³ There is none to plead your cause, that you may be bound up: you have no healing medicines.

¹⁹ Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I stroke upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.

¹¹ Go up into Gilead, and take balm, O virgin, the daughter of Egypt: in vain shall you use many medicines; for you shall not be cured.

⁵ The LORD was as an enemy: he has swallowed up Israel, he has swallowed up all her palaces: he has destroyed his strong holds, and has increased in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation.

⁴ The diseased have all of you not strengthened, neither have all of you healed that which was sick, neither have all of you bound up that which was broken, neither have all of you brought again that which was driven away, neither have all of you sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have all of you ruled them.

¹² Therefore will I be unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness. ¹³ When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound.

¹³ Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time.

² Hear all of you, O mountains, the LORD's controversy, and all of you strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD has a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel.

⁹ Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as all of you have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law.

²⁸ And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

²⁰ A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.

¹⁷ When Jesus heard it, he says unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

²⁶ And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing improved, but rather grew worse,

⁵ And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.

¹⁴ Afterward Jesus finds him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, you are made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto you.

² They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time comes, that whosoever kills you will think that he does God service.

⁴⁷ For so has the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set you to be a light of the Gentiles, that you should be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.

²⁴ Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

⁵ But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who takes vengeance? (I speak as a man) ⁶ God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world? ⁷ For if the truth of God has more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner? ⁸ And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.

³³ Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifies.

³⁸ For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, ³⁹ Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love (o. agape) of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹ Now as concerning things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love (o. agape) edifies. ² And if any man think that he knows any thing, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know.

¹² For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly toward you.

² But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word (o. logos) of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

¹ For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

⁴ For if he that comes preaches another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if all of you receive another spirit, (o. pneuma) which all of you have not received, or another gospel, which all of you have not accepted, all of you might well bear with him. ⁵ For I suppose I was not a thing behind the very chiefest apostles.

¹⁶ I say again, Let no man think me a fool; if otherwise, yet as a fool receive me, that I may boast myself a little. ¹⁷ That which I speak, I speak it not after the Lord, but as it were foolishly, in this confidence of boasting. ¹⁸ Seeing that many glory after the flesh, I will glory also.

¹¹ I am become a fool in glorying; all of you have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be nothing.

⁷ Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap. ⁸ For he that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that sows to the Spirit (o. pneuma) shall of the Spirit (o. pneuma) reap life everlasting.

¹⁵ Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

¹⁹ Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

⁹ But if all of you have respect to persons, all of you commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

³ That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that all of you also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

²⁰ For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.

¹⁵ And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; ¹⁶ And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

³ And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are your works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are your ways, you King of saints. ⁴ Who shall not fear you, O Lord, and glorify your name? for you only are holy: for all nations shall come and worship before you; for your judgments are made manifest.
