²⁰ Come, my people, enter you into your chambers, and shut your doors about you: hide yourself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation pass over.

¹ And the LORD said unto Noah, Come you and all your house into the ark; for you have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

¹⁶ And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.

⁸ Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of your wings,

⁵ For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

⁵ For his anger endures but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

²⁰ You shall hide them in the secret of your presence from the pride of man: you shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.

⁷ You are my hiding place; you shall preserve me from trouble; you shall compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

¹ Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusts in you: yea, in the shadow of your wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities pass over.

¹ He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

⁴ Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people.

¹⁶ And I have put my words in your mouth, and I have covered you in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, You are my people.

⁷ For a small moment have I forsaken you; but with great mercies will I gather you. ⁸ In a little wrath I hid my face from you for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on you, says the LORD your Redeemer.

²³ But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and all of you shall be my people: and walk all of you in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.

¹⁴ And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, says the LORD.

¹⁶ Therefore say, Thus says the Lord GOD; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come.

⁶ But you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father which is in secret; and your Father which sees in secret shall reward you openly.

³⁷ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you that kill the prophets, and stone them which are sent unto you, how often would I have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, and all of you would not!

¹⁷ For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
