¹³ Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with yourself that you shall escape in the king's house, more than all the Jews.

¹⁰ If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small. ¹¹ If you forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; ¹² If you say, Behold, we knew it not; does not he that ponders the heart consider it? and he that keeps your soul, does not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?

²⁴ Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. ²⁵ For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

²⁵ He that loves his life shall lose it; and he that hates his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

³⁰ Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.

³ For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest all of you be wearied and faint in your minds.
