¹² For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

³² But I have prayed for you, that your faith fail not: and when you are converted, strengthen your brethren.

¹⁵ So when they had dined, Jesus says to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, love you me more than these? He says unto him, Yea, Lord; you know that I love you. He says unto him, Feed my lambs. ¹⁶ He says to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, love you me? He says unto him, Yea, Lord; you know that I love you. He says unto him, Feed my sheep. ¹⁷ He says unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, love you me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Love you me? And he said unto him, Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you. Jesus says unto him, Feed my sheep.

¹⁷ For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.

²⁵ That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

³¹ Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, (o. pneuma) were multiplied.

²³ Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.

²² Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. ²³ And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.

²⁴ But none of these things (o. logos) move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

²⁸ Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Spirit (o. pneuma) has made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he has purchased with his own blood.

⁷ Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teaches, on teaching;

¹⁹ Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

² Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.

¹⁴ And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that all of you also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.

²⁹ And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.

¹ Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. ² Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

⁷ But the manifestation of the Spirit (o. pneuma) is given to every man to profit likewise.

²⁷ Now all of you are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

⁴ He that speaks in an unknown tongue edifies himself; but he that prophesies edifies the church. ⁵ I would that all of you all spoke with tongues but rather that all of you prophesied: for greater is he that prophesies than he that speaks with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

¹² Even so all of you, forasmuch as all of you are zealous of spiritual (o. pneuma) gifts, seek that all of you may excel to the edifying of the church.

¹⁴ For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit (o. pneuma) prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.

²⁶ How is it then, brethren? when all of you come together, every one of you has a psalm, has a doctrine, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

⁸ How shall not the ministration of the spirit (o. pneuma) be rather glorious?

¹ Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

¹⁸ And all things are of God, who has reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

³ Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:

¹ Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, (o. pneuma) perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

¹⁹ Again, think all of you that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but we do all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying.

⁹ For we are glad, when we are weak, and all of you are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.

²³ Which is his body, the fullness of him that fills all in all.

⁴ There is one body, and one Spirit, (o. pneuma) even as all of you are called in one hope of your calling;

¹⁶ From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplies, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, makes increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. (o. agape)

²⁹ Let no corrupt communication (o. logos) proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

²⁵ And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith; ²⁶ That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again.

¹² Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. ¹³ Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, ¹⁴ I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing all of you be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. ¹⁶ Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. ¹⁷ Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as all of you have us for an example. ¹⁸ (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:

²⁴ Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:

²⁸ Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

¹⁷ And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you fulfill it.

¹¹ Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also all of you do. ¹² And we plead to you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; ¹³ And to esteem them very highly in love (o. agape) for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves. ¹⁴ Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

¹² And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;

⁵ But watch you in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of your ministry.

¹¹ Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with you: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.

¹ Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine (o. logos) of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

¹⁷ Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, (o. logos) that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is useless for you.
