³ For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile:

¹⁵ And Moses was very angry, and said unto the LORD, Respect not you their offering: I have not taken one ass from them, neither have I hurt one of them.

³ Behold, here I am: witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.

³³ I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel. ³⁴ Yea, all of you yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.

¹⁷ For we are not as many, which corrupt the word (o. logos) of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

² But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word (o. logos) of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

⁵ For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

² Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man.

¹³ For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

¹⁶ But be it so, I did not burden you: nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you with guile. ¹⁷ Did I make a gain of you by any of them whom I sent unto you? ¹⁸ I desired Titus, and with him I sent a brother. Did Titus make a gain of you? walked we not in the same spirit? (o. pneuma) walked we not in the same steps?

⁵ For neither at any time used we flattering words, (o. logos) as all of you know, nor a coat of covetousness; God is witness: ⁶ Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.

¹¹ As all of you know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father does his children,

¹ Furthermore then we plead to you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as all of you have received of us how all of you ought to walk and to please God, so all of you would abound more and more. ² For all of you know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.

⁷ For God has not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

¹¹ And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

¹⁶ For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
