¹⁴ As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

³⁰ And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commands all men every where to repent:

⁴ Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

² And be not conformed to this world: but be all of you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that all of you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

² Wherein in time past all of you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit (o. pneuma) that now works in the children of disobedience:

¹⁸ Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: ¹⁹ Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. ²⁰ But all of you have not so learned Christ; ²¹ If so be that all of you have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: ²² That all of you put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

⁶ Let no man deceive you with vain words: (o. logos) for because of these things comes the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

⁵ Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: ⁶ For which things' sake the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience: ⁷ In the which all of you also walked some time, when all of you lived in them.

⁵ Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:

³ For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. ⁴ But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, ⁵ Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit; (o. pneuma)

² That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. ³ For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:
