² Therefore we will not be dismayed, though the earth be shaken, and mountains be hurled to the midst of seas.

¹¹ In the six hundredth year of Noe's life, the second month and twenty seventh day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the abyss were burst open and the cataracts of heaven were opened, ¹² and there came rain on the earth forty days and forty nights.

⁷ Then was the earth shaken: it trembled; and the foundations of the hills were convulsed and shaken; because at mine enemies God was incensed.

⁴ For though I walk amidst the shades of death: I will fear no ills, because thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff have been my comfort.

³ Though a host be drawn up against me, my heart will not be dismayed; though war rise up against me, still I exercise hope.

⁵ They did not know; nor did they understand. They walked on in darkness. All the foundations of the land shall be shaken.

²⁴ And behold there came on a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the vessel was covered with the waves, and he was asleep. ²⁵ Thereupon his disciples came and awoke him, saying, Master, save us! we are perishing. ²⁶ And he said to them, Why are you fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea, and a great calm ensued.

²¹ And Jesus answering, said to them, Verily I say to you, if you have faith, without wavering, you may do not only as much as is done to this fig tree; but if you should even say to that mountain, Be thou lifted up and thrown into the sea, it shall be done.

⁹ And when you hear of wars and insurrections, be not terrified; for these things must first happen; but the end will not follow immediately. ¹⁰ Then he said to them, nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. ¹¹ And there will be great earthquakes in divers places; and famines, and pestilences. And there will be awful sights and great signs from heaven.

²⁵ There will indeed be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth, anguish of desponding nations, while the sea is roaring and the billows thereof; ²⁶ and men are fainting with fear and apprehension of the things which are coming on the world. For the powers of heaven will be shaken, ²⁷ and they shall then see the son of man coming in a cloud, with power and great glory. ²⁸ Now when these things begin to come to pass, look up and lift up your heads, for your deliverance is drawing near.

³³ The heaven and the earth will pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

⁶ So that we may say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper, I will not fear what man can to do me."

¹⁰ Now the day of the Lord will come, as a thief at night, when the heavens with a crashing roar shall pass away, and the elements shall be dissolved by fire, and the earth, and all the works thereon, shall be burned up. ¹¹ Therefore as all these things are to be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conversation and godliness, ¹² expecting, and eagerly desiring, the coming of the day of God, in which the heavens, all on fire, shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with intense heat, ¹³ and we, according to his promise, expect new heavens, and a new earth in which dwelleth righteousness! ¹⁴ As you therefore, beloved, expect these things, use all diligence to be found at peace with him, without spot and without blemish;
