³ Is it agreeable to thee that I should commit iniquity; seeing thou hast rejected the works of thy hands; and favoured the counsel of the wicked?

⁶ In my distress I called on the Lord, and to my God I raised my cry. From his holy temple he heard my voice; and my cry before him reached his ears.

³⁵ and given me a defence for my safety; and thy right hand hath helped me, and thy discipline hath upheld me to the last: this discipline of thine will still teach me.

⁶ Now I know that the Lord hath saved his anointed. From his holy heaven he will hearken to him. The salvation of his right hand is with power.

²² I will declare thy name to my brethren: in the midst of a congregation I will sing praise to thee.

³ and restored my soul. He hath led me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. ⁴ For though I walk amidst the shades of death: I will fear no ills, because thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff have been my comfort.

⁷ All mine enemies spread whispers against me; against me, they devised things hurtful to me. ⁸ They came to a wicked determination against me. "Now he is confined to his bed, let him never rise again."

³ For they took not possession of the land with their own sword: nor was it their own arm that saved them: but thy right hand and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou tookest pleasure in them.

⁵ By thee we can push down our enemies, and through thy name, scorn them who rise up against us. ⁶ For in mine own bow I will not put trust, nor is it mine own sword that can save me. ⁷ For thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put to shame them who hated us.

³ And kings will walk by thy light: and nations by thy splendour. ⁴ Raise thine eyes around and behold thy children gathered together; all thy sons are come from afar, and thy daughters shall be carried on shoulders. ⁵ Then thou wilt look and be filled with awe and astonished at heart; because the riches of the sea and of nations and peoples will pour in upon thee.

¹⁶ And thou shalt suck the milk of nations, and feed on the wealth of kings, and shalt know that I the Lord am thy Saviour, and that thy Redeemer is the God of Israel.

⁷ [c] I recollected the loving kindness of the Lord; the mercies of the Lord in all those things which he retributeth for us. The Lord is a good judge to the house of Israel. He dealeth with us according to his tender mercy and according to the abundance of his saving goodness,

¹⁴ behold my servants shall triumph with joy: But you shall scream for sorrow of heart, and howl for anguish of spirit.

²⁴ therefore it shall come to pass, that before they call I will answer them: and while they are yet speaking I will say, "What is the matter."

Have not wise men taught thee with their knowledge? ⁴ Didst thou by thy knowledge, or thine own understanding, procure for thyself power and gold and silver in thy treasuries? ⁵ By thy great skill and thy traffic thou hast increased thy wealth; and with thy wealth thy heart is elated; ⁶ therefore, Thus saith the Lord, Since thou hast set thy heart as the heart of a God; ⁷ for this, behold I will bring against thee strange ravagers from the nations, and they shall unsheath their swords against thee and against the beauty of thy wisdom; ⁸ and they shall bring down thy beauty to destruction and trample thee down; and thou shalt die the death of wounded men in the heart of the sea ⁹ Wilt thou say, "I am a God," in the presence of them who are slaying thee? Thou indeed art but a man and not a God.

³⁷ Now therefore I Nabuchodonosar praise and extol and glorify the king of heaven; for all his works are true and his ways are judgments and all them who walk in pride he can abase.

²⁰ But when his heart became elated and his spirit emboldened to shew its arrogance, he was deposed from the throne of his kingdom and his glory was taken from him; ²¹ and he was driven from among men; and his heart was disposed to associate with the beasts; and his dwelling was with the wild asses; and he was fed with grass like an ox; and his body was bathed with the dew of heaven, till he was made to know that the Most High God ruleth over the kingdom of men and can give it to whom he will. ²² Now thou, Baltasar, his son, hast not therefore humbled thy heart before this God. Hast thou not known all these things? ²³ Yet thou hast exalted thyself against the Lord God of heaven. And the vessels of his house have been brought before thee, and thou and thy nobles and thy concubines and thy wives have drunk wine out of them, and thou hast praised the gods of gold and silver and brass and iron and wood and stone which neither see nor hear, nor understand: but the God in whose hand is thy breath and all thy ways; him thou hast not glorified. ²⁴ For this cause a joint of a hand hath been sent from his presence, and it hath sketched this writing.

¹⁰ Now when Daniel knew that the decree was passed, he went home and the windows in his upper chamber towards Jerusalem were opened for him, and three times a day, kneeling down on his knees, he prayed and gave thanks before his God as he had done heretofore.

⁸ Rejoice not over me, mine enemy, because I have fallen. I shall rise again, for though I sit in darkness the Lord will give me light. ⁹ I will bear the indignation of the Lord, because I have sinned against him; until he vindicate my cause. He will do me justice and bring me out into light; ¹⁰ and shame shall cover her who saith, "Where is thy God?" Mine eyes shall see her. She shall now be trodden down like dirt in the streets.

¹⁴ Rejoice, daughters of Sion, Make proclamation, daughters of Jerusalem! Be glad and rejoice with thy whole heart, daughter of Jerusalem. ¹⁵ The Lord hath taken away thy transgressions; he hath redeemed thee out of the hand of thine enemies. The king of Israel; the Lord is in the midst of thee; thou shalt no more see evils.

¹² And I will strengthen them in the Lord their God, and in his name they shall boast; saith the Lord.

¹¹ Since from the risings of the sun to its goings down my name hath been glorified among the nations; and in every place incense is offered to my name, and a pure sacrifice; since my name is great among the nations, saith the Lord Almighty,

¹⁸ For verily I say to you, Until that heaven and this earth shall have passed away, not one jot nor a tittle of the law shall be annulled till all be accomplished.

⁵ "Say to the daughter of Sion, Behold thy king cometh to thee, meek and mounted on an ass; even on a young colt the foal of an ass." ⁶ So the disciples went, and having done as Jesus commanded them, ⁷ they brought the ass and the colt and threw their mantles on them, and set him thereon. ⁸ And the greater part of the multitude threw their mantles on the way, and some cut branches from the trees and strewed them in the way. ⁹ And the crowds that went before, and they who followed, shouted, saying, Hosannah to the son of David! ³⁵ The heaven and the earth shall fail; but my words shall not fail.

⁴⁸ because he hath regarded the low condition of his handmaid. For behold! henceforth all generations will call me happy.

⁵¹ With his arm he hath displayed strength. He hath scattered them who were elated with the imagination of their heart. ⁵² From thrones he hath hurled potentates, and exalted them of low degree. ⁵³ He hath filled the hungry with good things; and sent away the rich empty.

⁶⁸ Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel; because he hath visited and delivered his people. ⁶⁹ He indeed hath raised up for us a horn of salvation in the house of his servant David ⁷⁰ [as he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets of old] ⁷¹ a deliverance from our enemies, and out of the hand of all who hate us ⁷² in kindness to our fathers, and in remembrance of his holy covenant

⁵ And Paul said. Brethren, I was not aware that he is chief priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.

¹⁰ For if we, when enemies, were reconciled to God by the death of his son, much more shall we, being reconciled, be saved by his life.

²⁸ And we know that all things are working together for good to them who love God"to them who according to a previous purpose are now actually called. ²⁹ For those whom he foreknew, even these he marked out beforehand to be of a form the same as that of the image of his son, that he might be a first born among many brethren. ³⁰ And those whom he marked out beforehand he actually called, and those whom he called, even these he acquitted, and those whom he acquitted even these he glorified.

⁸ Now I say that, for the truth of God, Jesus Christ became the minister of circumcision, to confirm the promises made to the fathers; ⁹ and that the Gentiles are to glorify God for his mercy. As it is written, "For this cause I will praise thee among the nations and sing to thy name."

¹⁵ What then is to be done? I am to pray with the spirit and to pray with the understanding also. I am to sing with the spirit, and to sing with the understanding also.

⁶ Because it is God, who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who hath shined in our hearts, to give a lustre of the knowledge of the glory of God in the person of Jesus Christ;

⁸ For this I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. ⁹ Whereupon he said to me, My grace is sufficient for thee; for my strength is perfected in weakness. Therefore I will with the greatest pleasure, rather boast of my weaknesses, that the power of the Christ may shelter me. ¹⁰ I feel therefore a complacency in weaknesses, in reproaches, in difficulties, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ; for when I am weak, then am I strong.

⁶ for the praise of the glory of that favour of his with which he made us objects of favour in the Beloved;

¹² to the end that we who first trusted in the Christ might be for the praise of his glory;

¹⁶ that he would, according to the riches of his glory, grant you to be strengthened by his spirit for the inner man,

¹⁹ when: you are speaking to one another, when with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs you are singing and making melody with your hearts to the Lord:

¹⁰ Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.

⁶ the same confidence, that he who hath begun a good work in you will continue completing it until the day of Jesus Christ;

¹³ I can undergo all things through Christ who strengthened me.

¹¹ being strengthened with all might according to the power of his glory for all patience and long suffering we with joy

²⁴ He who calleth you is faithful, and will do this.

⁹ These shall suffer punishment, an everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his majesty,

¹⁴ Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth on service on the account of them who are to be heirs of salvation?

⁶ It granteth indeed a greater favour, therefore it saith, "God resisteth the proud, and granteth favour to the humble."

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who, according to his abundant mercy, hath regenerated us to a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead ⁴ for an inheritance incorruptible, incapable of defilement or decay, reserved in heaven for us ⁵ who are, during belief, kept safely by the power of God, for a deliverance prepared to be revealed in the last time;

¹⁹ Let them therefore who suffer according to the will of God, commit their souls to him in well doing, as to a faithful creator.

⁵ Likewise ye who are young, submit to those more advanced in years. And being all submissive to one another; adorn yourselves with humility; because "God resisteth the proud and granteth favour to the humble;" ⁶ therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he may in due time exalt you.

¹⁰ Now may the God of all favour, who hath invited us to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, when we have suffered a little may he himself fit, support, strengthen and establish you!

¹ Jude a servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James; to the called, who are sanctified by God the father, and preserved by Jesus Christ:

¹¹ Thou, O Lord, art worthy to receive the glory and the honour and the power, because thou hast created all things, and at thy will they exist and were created.

¹³ And I heard every created being which is in the heaven and on the earth and underneath the earth and those which are in the sea, even all in them, saying, "to him who is sitting on the throne and to the lamb, be the blessing and the honour and the glory and the dominion for the ages of the ages." ¹⁴ And the four animate beings said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him who liveth for the ages of the ages.

¹² saying, "Amen! the blessing and the glory and the wisdom and the thanks and the honour and the power and the majesty be to our God for ages of the ages! Amen."

¹⁵ Then the seventh angel sounded and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of the world are become [the kingdom] of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign for the ages of the ages.

¹ And after this I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, Alleluia! the salvation and the glory and the honour and the power be to the Lord our God;

²⁴ and the nations of the saved will walk in its light; and the kings of the earth will bring their glory and honour into it;
