²² Must the flocks and the herds be slaughtered for them? Will even these suffice? Or should all the fish of the sea be collected for them, would this be sufficient for them?

² Upon this a nobleman on whose hand the king leaned, in reply to Elisha said, Behold should the Lord make flood gates in heaven, can such a thing be? And Elisha replied, Behold thou shalt see it with thy eyes but shalt not eat thereof.

³³ Perhaps they may faint on the road. Thereupon his disciples say to him, Whence can we get loaves enough, in a wilderness, to satisfy so great a multitude?

³⁷ And he in reply, said to them, Supply them ye yourselves. Thereupon they say to him, Must we go and buy bread to the amount of two hundred deniars for them to eat.

⁴ Thereupon his disciples answered, Whence can they be supplied with bread here in the wilderness?
