³ Upon which I sent messengers to them saying, I am engaged in a great work, and cannot go down, lest the work should stop. Soon as I have completed it, I will go down to you.

¹⁵ A man without guile, believeth every thing: but a prudent man cometh for a change of mind.

¹⁰ Whatever thy hand findeth to do, do it with all thy might; since there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge nor wisdom in the mansion of the dead to which thou must go.

¹⁶ Behold I send you forth like sheep in the midst of wolves; be ye therefore wise as the serpents and harmless as the doves.

³⁰ who will say, This man began to build, but was not able to finish.

⁴ I must work the works of him who sent me, while it is day. Night is coming, when no one can work.

¹⁵ Meditate on these things; be intent upon them. That thy improvement in all things may be manifest, ¹⁶ take heed to thyself and to thy doctrine; continue in them: for by doing this thou wilt save thyself and them who hearken to thee.
