John 20:1-10

1 Now on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene cometh to the tomb early in the morning, while there was still darkness, and she seeth the stone was taken away from the tomb. 2 Upon which she runneth and cometh to Simon Peter and the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith to them, They have taken the master out of the tomb and we do not know where they have laid him. 3 Thereupon Peter set out with the other disciple, and they went to the tomb. 4 Now they both ran together, but the other disciple out ran Peter and came first to the tomb. 5 And having stooped down he seeth the linen swathings laid by; but did not go in. 6 Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and he went into the tomb and seeth the linen swathings laid by, 7 and the napkin, which was on his head, not laid with the linen swathings, but folded up in a place by itself. 8 Then the other disciple, who came first to the tomb, went in also and saw and believed. 9 For they did not yet know the scripture, that he was to rise from the dead. 10 Therefore these disciples went their way home again.
