³⁴ The multitude answered him, We have heard out of the law that "The Christ remaineth forever." How then dost thou say, That the son of man must be lifted up? Who is this son of man?

¹³ He shall build a house for my name, and I will raise up again his throne for ever.

⁷ In his days let righteousness spring up, with abundance of peace, till the moon is no more.

¹⁷ Let his name be blessed for ever! His name shall endure longer than the sun: and by him all the tribes of the earth shall be blessed. All the nations shall hail him happy. ¹⁸ Blessed be the Lord the God of Israel; who alone doth wonderful things. ¹⁹ And blessed be his glorious name for ever and ever: and let all the earth be filled with his glory. Amen. Amen.

³⁶ His seed shall endure forever, and his throne as the sun before me; ³⁷ and as the moon forever fixed: and the witness in heaven is faithful."

⁴ The Lord hath sworn and will not change; thou art a priest forever, after the order of Melchisedek.

⁷ His government shall be great and to his peace there is no boundary, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to reestablish it, and support it with judgment and justice, henceforth and forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

⁸ In this humiliation his legal trial was taken away. Who will declare his manner of life. [J] Because his life is taken from the earth; for the transgressions of my people he is led to death;

²⁴ And my servant David shall be chief among them. He shall be singly the shepherd of all. Because they will walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and practise them, ²⁵ therefore they shall dwell in that land of theirs which I gave to my servant Jacob. Where their fathers dwelt there they shall dwell and my servant David shall be the only chief forever.

⁴⁴ And in the days of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and this kingdom of his shall not be left to another people. It shall break in pieces, and blow away all those kingdoms and shall itself stand forever.

¹⁴ And to him was given the government and the honour and the kingdom; and all the peoples, tribes and languages are to serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall never pass away, and his kingdom shall not be destroyed.

²⁷ For the kingdom and the dominion and the majesty of the kings who are under the whole heaven, is given to the holy ones of the Most High. And his kingdom shall be an everlasting kingdom, and all the governments shall serve and obey him.

⁷ and I will make the bruised a remnant, and her who was put away, a mighty nation. And the Lord will reign over them on mount Sion henceforth and forever.

²⁰ Jesus saith to him, the foxes have holes and the birds of the air have roosts; but the son of man hath not where to lay his head.

¹³ When Jesus was going to Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Who do men say that I, the son of man, am?

They say to him, David's. ⁴³ He saith to them, How then doth David by the spirit call him Lord; saying, ⁴⁴ "The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool." ⁴⁵ If then David calleth him Lord: how is he his son?

¹⁴ But as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the son of man be lifted up, ¹⁵ that whosoever believeth in him may not perish; but have everlasting life. ¹⁶ For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him may not perish, but have everlasting life.

²⁵ Verily, verily I say to you, a time is coming, nay is now come, when the dead will hearken to the voice of the son of God, and they who hearken shall live. ²⁶ For as the Father hath life in himself, so he hath granted to the son to have life also in himself, ²⁷ and hath also given him authority to execute judgment, because he is a son of man.

⁵³ Art thou greater than our father Abraham who died? The prophets also died. Whom dost thou make thyself? ⁵⁴ Jesus answered, If I glorify myself, this glory of mine is nothing. It is the Father who glorifieth me, of whom you say that he is your God. ⁵⁵ Now you do not know him, but I know him; and if I should say, I do not know him, I would speak falsely like you. But I know him and keep his word. ⁵⁶ Your father Abraham was transported with a desire to see this day of mine, and he saw it, and was made glad. ⁵⁷ Upon this the Jews said to him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? ⁵⁸ Jesus said to them, Verily, verily, I say to you, Before Abraham was, I am.

³⁴ Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law "I said you are Gods."

³² As for me, when I am lifted up from the ground, I will draw all men to me.

²⁵ But by this is fulfilled the word which is written in their law, They hated me without cause.

¹⁹ Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world stand convicted before God.

¹⁸ Therefore as by one transgression there was a sentence of condemnation for all men; so by one acquittal there is an adjudication of life for all men.
