²⁹ Stand in awe, I beseech you, of the developing scene; for wrath will come upon the unrighteous, and it shall then be known, where their filthiness is.

⁷ Are you not speaking in the presence of the Lord? ⁸ And do you in his presence utter deceit in a solemn manner? Or will you keep back any thing? Judge for yourselves. ⁹ For will it be well for you, if he mark your steps? For though feigning all these things you apply them for him: ¹⁰ he will, notwithstanding this, reprove you. And if you secretly respect persons; ¹¹ will not his awful majesty confound you; and the terror of him fall upon you?

²² Let him not hope to return out of darkness; for he is already doomed to the edge of the sword;

⁴ Or will he, instituting a suit against thee, argue and come to a trial with thee?

⁵ Therefore the wicked shall not stand in judgment, nor sinners in the counsel of the righteous.

⁷ But the Lord will endure forever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment;

¹⁰ The righteous will rejoice when he seeth the punishment of the wicked; he will wash his hands in the blood of the sinner. ¹¹ And man will say, Since there is indeed a reward for the righteous, there is a God who judgeth those on the earth.

⁹ rejoice then, young man, in thy youth, and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart spotless and not by the sight of thine eyes, and know that for all these things God will bring thee to judgment.

¹⁴ That God will bring the whole work into judgment in every case not taken notice of, whether it be good or whether it be evil.

¹ Judge not, that you may not be judged; ² for as you judge, you shall be judged: and the measure which you mete, shall be measured to you again.

¹ Let every soul be subject to the ruling powers; for there is no power but from God. The powers in being are arranged by God; ² so that he who setteth himself against the power resisteth the arrangement of God; and they who resist shall receive for themselves condemnation. ³ For the rulers are not a terror to good works but to evil. Dost thou then wish not to dread the power? Do that which is good and thou shall have praise from it. ⁴ For it is a minister of God for good to thee. But if thou dost evil, be in dread; for it wieldeth not the sword in vain. For it is a minister of God, an avenger to execute wrath on him who doth evil.
