⁸ Shall they eat the sin offerings of my people and by their iniquities support their lives?

²⁶ The priest who carrieth it up shall eat it in a holy place. It shall be eaten in the court of the tabernacle of the testimony.

⁶ Every male among the priests shall eat there of. They shall eat it in a holy place. It is most holy. ⁷ As is the sin offering, so is the trespass offering. There is one law for both: The priest who shall make atonement with it shall have it.

²⁹ Why then hast thou looked with an impudent eye on my incense offerings, and on my sacrifice of flour, and honoured thy sons above me, by indulging them with the dedicated part of every sacrifice of Israel, in preference to me?

⁴ He whose hands are clean and whose heart is pure. Who hath not devoted his soul to vanity; nor sworn deceitfully to his neighbour.

¹ A Psalm by David. To thee, Lord, I have lifted up my soul:

¹¹ yet these dogs are of untamed appetite; they can never have enough. They are indeed mischievous, they have no consideration. They all followed their own courses, every one according to his own purpose.

³ Son of man, these men have given their imaginations the rule over their hearts, though they placed before their eyes the punishment of their transgressions. Shall I, being consulted, return them an answer?

⁷ For be the man who he may of the house of Israel, or of the proselytes who have sojourned with Israel, who shall separate himself from me, and give his desires the rule over his understanding when he hath set before his eyes the punishment of his iniquity and shall come to the prophet that he may inquire of me; I the Lord will answer him by that with which he is entangled;

¹¹ [J] Her rulers have judged for rewards; and her priests have given answers for hire; and her prophets have prophesied for silver, without waiting for the Lord, saying, "Is not the Lord among us? No evils shall come upon us:"

¹⁰ Since by you the doors will be shut, and a fire will not be kindled on mine altar for nothing, I have no pleasure in you, saith the Lord Almighty; nor will I accept a sacrifice at your hands.

¹⁸ For such men do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly. And by their fawning speeches and flattering forms of address, they deceive the hearts of the innocent.

¹¹ who ought to be curbed, who subvert whole houses teaching what they ought not, for the sake of sordid gain.

³ Indeed, with insatiable covetousness, they will, with smooth words, make merchandize of you. But the judgment prepared of old for them is not idle, nor is their destruction slumbering.
