¹² Because our conflict is not barely with flesh and blood, but against the principalities and the powers; against the rulers of this dark age, against the spiritual [assaults] of the wickedness in the heavenly dispensation;

² And the Lord said to Satan, Whence comest thou? And Satan said before the Lord, Having traversed that under heaven, and roved through the whole of it, I am come here

¹⁷ And Jesus answering, said to him, Happy art thou, Simon Barjona; for flesh and blood hath not revealed this to thee, but my father who is in heaven.

²⁴ Strive with all your might to enter in through the narrow gate; for many, I assure you, will seek to enter, who will not be able.

⁵³ When I was daily with you in the temple, you did not stretch forth your hands against me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness.

³¹ Now is the judgment of this world. Now will the chieftain of this world be cast out.

³⁰ I will not discourse much more with you, for the; chieftain of this world is coming, and hath nothing to do with me;

¹¹ and in respect to judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

¹⁸ to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of satan to God, that they may receive a remission of sins and an inheritance among them who are sanctified by the belief in me.

³⁸ For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

²⁵ Now, every one who is to contend in the public games is temperate in all things. They indeed do this that they may obtain a corruptible crown. But we [to obtain] one that is incorruptible. ²⁶ For my part, therefore, I run in this manner, not as if I were running unseen: I fight, not as if I were beating the air; ²⁷ but I buffet my body and subdue it, lest having proclaimed the glad tidings to others I myself should be disapproved.

⁵⁰ Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor can corruption inherit incorruption.

⁴ with which the god of this world hath blinded the minds of the disbelieving, that the splendour of the glad tidings of the glory of the Christ, who is an image of God, may not shine upon them.

¹⁶ to reveal his son to me, that I might proclaim the good tidings of him among the nations immediately; I did not consult flesh and blood,

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with every spiritual blessing; with the heavenly things in Christ;

²¹ far above all principality and power, and might, and dominion, and every name which is named, not only in this age but in that to come;

² in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world; according to the prince of the power of the air, that spirit which is now working powerfully in the children of disobedience;

¹⁰ in order that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the principalities and the powers in the heavenly kingdom, by means of the congregation,

¹³ who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and removed us into the kingdom of his beloved son,

¹⁵ having divested himself of the principalities and the powers, he exposed them to public view- when he triumphed over them on it.

⁵ And if a man combateth in the public games, he is not crowned, unless he combat according' to the rules prescribed.

¹ As we therefore are encompassed with such a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which easily entangleth us, and let us run without intermission the race set before us,

⁴ You have not yet in your contest with sin resisted to blood.

²² who, having gone to heaven, is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him.
