⁵ and build there an altar to the Lord thy God; an altar of stones. Thou shalt not lift up a tool upon it.

²⁵ And I will come to thee and bless thee. And if thou makest for me an altar of stones; thou shalt not build it of hewn stones: for thou hast put thy workmanship on them and they are polluted.

⁴ Then Moses wrote down all the words of the Lord. And rising early next morning Moses built an altar at the foot of the mount with twelve stones for the twelve tribes of Israel;
