⁹ But thou shalt not build the house. For thy son who shall spring from thy loins, even he shall build the house for my name.

¹² And it shall come to pass when thy days are fulfilled and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, that I will raise up after thee the seed of thee who shall spring from thy loins, and I will establish his kingdom. ¹³ He shall build a house for my name, and I will raise up again his throne for ever.

⁴ Go, and say to David my servant, Thus saith the Lord, Thou shalt not build me a house to dwell in.
