1 Now in those days when the Philistines were assembling in their camps to go out to war with Israel, Angchus said to David, Know assuredly that thou shalt go out with me to battle, both thou and thy men. 2 Whereupon David said to Angchus, Thus thou shalt now know what thy servant can do. And Angchus said to David, Thus will I make thee captain of my body guard during thy life.

1 Samuel 29:6-7

6 Then Angchus called David, and said to him. As the Lord liveth, Thou art good, and upright in my eyes, and so is thy going out and thy coming in with me in the army. Indeed I have not found any thing amiss in thee from the day of thy coming to me even to this day. But thou art not in favour with the lords. 7 Now therefore return, and go in peace, that thou mayst not give offence to the lords of the Philistines.
