⁹ And David knew it; for Saul did not conceal his mischievous intention respecting him. Therefore David said to Abiathar the priest, Bring here the ephod of the Lord.

²⁰ But one son of Abimelech, son of Achitob, escaped. His name was Abiathar, and he fled to David.

⁶ Now as Abiathar, son of Abimelech, had fled to David, he went down with him to Keila, having the ephod in his hand.

⁷ And David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Abimelech, Bring hither the ephod.

¹⁸ [p] Inform me, Lord, and let me know! Then I saw their devices. ¹⁹ As for me I like a lamb led to slaughter did not know. ³ Cry to me and I will answer thee and shew thee great and marvellous things which thou hast not known.

²⁴ and Saul was apprized of their plot. As they were watching the gates day and night to murder him,

⁶ they having intelligence of it, fled to the cities of Lycaonia; to Lystra and Derbe, and the region around;

¹⁶ But Paul's sister's son hearing of the plot, went to the castle and being admitted told Paul. ¹⁷ Whereupon Paul called one of the centurions and said, Introduce this young man to the commander, for he hath something to tell him. ¹⁸ He therefore took him along and conducting him to the commander said, Paul the prisoner called me to him, and desired me to introduce to thee this young man who hath something to tell thee.
