²⁴ and having given thanks, broke it, and said, "Take, eat; this is my body which is broken for you. Do this in commemoration of me."

¹⁴ And that day shall be to you for a memorial. And you shall celebrate it as a festival to the Lord throughout all your generations. As an everlasting ordinance you shall celebrate it.

⁷ thou mayst explain them to thy son, and say, Because the river Jordan dried up at the presence of the Ark of the covenant of the Lord of the whole earth, when it crossed it, therefore you shall have these stones for an everlasting memorial for the children of Israel.

²⁶ The needy shall eat and be satisfied: and they who seek the Lord will praise him. Their heart shall be forever alive.

²⁹ All the fat ones of the earth have eaten and worshipped: before him shall bow all that go down to the dust. Let my soul therefore live for him.

⁴ He hath made a memorial of his wonders: merciful and gracious is the Lord.

⁵ "Come, eat of my bread and drink the wine which I have mixed for you.

⁴ Thou art drawn: after thee we will run to the fragrance of thy perfumes. The king brought me into his inner apartment. Let us rejoice and be gladdened by thee. We will love thy breasts better than wine: rectitude hath loved thee.

¹ I have come to my garden, my sister spouse: I have gathered my myrrh with my spices: I have eaten my bread with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk. Eat, friends; drink; yes drink plentifully brethren.

⁶ then will the Lord of Hosts make provision for all the nations. On this mount they shall drink gladness:

⁸ for the way of the Lord is justice. We have trusted in thy name and in that remembrance

¹ HO! ye who are thirsting, come to water! And ye who have no money, come buy and eat, without money and without price, wine and the choicest bread. ² Why are you expending money and labour for that which will not satisfy? Hearken to me and you shall eat good things; and your soul will be regaled with delicacies. ³ Incline your ears and follow in my paths; hearken to me and your soul shall live on good things; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant; the gracious promises to David which are faithful.

¹³ Verily I say to you, In what part soever of the world these glad tidings shall be proclaimed, mention will also be made of what she hath done, for a memorial of her.

⁵³ Therefore Jesus said to them, Verily, verily, I say to you, Unless you eat the flesh of the son of man, and drink his blood, you have no life in you. ⁵⁴ He who eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood, hath an everlasting life, and I will raise him up at the last day. ⁵⁵ For this flesh of mine is food indeed; and this blood of mine is indeed drink. ⁵⁶ He who eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, abideth in me and I in him. ⁵⁷ As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father; so he. who eateth me, even he will live by me. ⁵⁸ This is the bread which is come down from heaven. Not as your fathers ate the manna and died. He who eateth this bread shall live forever.

⁷ Purge out therefore the old leaven that you may be a new mass as you are unleavened. For Christ our Paschal lamb is indeed slain for us, ⁸ so that we should keep the festival, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of wickedness and malignity; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

³ and did all eat the same spiritual food; ⁴ and did all drink of the same spiritual drink, for they drank from a spiritual rock accompanying them; now that rock was the Christ.

¹⁶ The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a fellowship in the blood of the Christ? The loaf which we break, is it not a Fellowship in the body of the Christ? ¹⁷ Because it is one loaf, we being many are one body, for we ail partake of this one loaf.

²⁷ So that whosoever shall eat this loaf or drink this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, he will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. ²⁸ Now, let a man examine himself, and in this manner eat of that loaf and drink of that cup;
