⁹ And God said, "Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together to one place, and let the dry land appear": And it was so.

¹¹ In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

²⁸ Therefore God give you of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of grain and wine:

³⁷ And Isaac answered and said to Esau, "Behold, I have made him your lord, and I have given all his brothers to him for servants; and with grain and wine I have sustained him: And now what shall I do to you, my son?" ³⁸ And Esau said to his father, "Have you but one blessing, my father? Bless me, even me also, O my father." And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept. ³⁹ And Isaac his father answered and said to him, "Behold, your dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above;

²⁸ Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: The fountain of Jacob shall be on a land of grain and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew.

²⁷ For he makes small the drops of water: They pour down rain according to its vapor: ²⁸ Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.

⁸ Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it broke forth, as if it had issued out of the womb? ⁹ When I made the cloud its garment, and thick darkness a swaddling cloth for it, ¹⁰ and broke up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors, ¹¹ and said, "Till now shall you come, but no further: And here shall your proud waves be stayed?

²⁶ to cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, in which there is no man; ²⁷ to satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth? ²⁸ Has the rain a father? Or who has begotten the drops of dew?

⁹ You visit the earth, and water it: You greatly enrich it with the river of God, which is full of water: You prepare them grain, when You have so provided for it. ¹⁰ You water its ridges abundantly: You settle its furrows: You make it soft with showers: You bless its springing. ¹¹ You crown the year with Your goodness; and Your paths drop fatness. ¹² They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: And the little hills rejoice on every side.

⁸ They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys to the place which You have founded for them. ⁹ You have set a bound that they may not pass over; that they do not turn again to cover the earth.

²² Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? Or can heaven give showers? Are you not He, O LORD our God? Therefore we will wait on you: For you have made all these things.

²³ Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: For He has given you the former rain moderately, and He will cause the rain to come down for you, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
