²¹ And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent. ²² And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside. ²³ And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they did not see their father's nakedness.

³⁶ And Abigail came to Nabal; and behold, he held a feast in his house, like the feast of a king; and Nabal's heart was merry within him, for he was very drunk: Therefore she told him nothing, less or more, until the morning light. ³⁷ But it came to pass in the morning, when the wine was gone out of Nabal, and his wife had told him these things, that his heart died within him, and he became as a stone. ³⁸ And it came to pass about ten days after, that the LORD smote Nabal, that he died.

²⁹ Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has contentions? Who has babbling? Who has wounds without cause? Who has redness of eyes? ³⁰ Those that tarry long at the wine; those that go to seek mixed wine. ³¹ Do not look upon the wine when it is red, when it gives his color in the cup, when it moves itself aright. ³² At the last it bites like a serpent, and stings like an adder. ³³ Your eyes shall behold strange women, and your heart shall utter perverse things. ³⁴ Yes, you shall be as he that lies down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lies upon the top of a mast. ³⁵ "They have stricken me", you shall say, "and I was not sick; they have beaten me, and I did not feel it: When shall I awake? I will seek it yet again."

⁴ It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:

²² Woe to those that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:

⁷ But they have also erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up by wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.

¹² "Come all of you", they say, "I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and tomorrow shall be like today, and much more abundant."

¹¹ Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart.

⁵ In the day of our king the princes have made him sick with bottles of wine; he stretched out his hand with scorners.

¹⁵ Woe to him that gives his neighbor drink, that puts your bottle to him, and also makes him drunk, that you may look on their nakedness! ¹⁶ You are filled with shame for glory: Drink also, and let your foreskin be uncovered: The cup of the LORD's right hand shall be turned toward you, and shameful spewing shall be on your glory.

¹⁰ nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

²¹ envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, as I have also told you in time past, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

¹⁸ And do not be drunk with wine, in which is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

³⁸ The censers of these sinners against their own souls, let them make them broad plates for a covering of the altar: For they offered them before the LORD, therefore they are hallowed: And they shall be a sign to the children of Israel.

¹⁴ The wrath of a king is as messengers of death: But a wise man will pacify it. ¹⁵ In the light of the king's countenance is life; and his favor is as a cloud of the latter rain.

¹² The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favor is as dew upon the grass.

⁴ If the spirit of the ruler rises up against you, do not leave your place; for yielding pacifies great offenses.

¹⁰ They shall walk after the LORD: He shall roar like a lion: When He shall roar, then the children from the west shall tremble.

⁸ The lion has roared, who will not fear? The Lord GOD has spoken, who can help but prophesy?

¹⁰ You have consulted shame to establish your house by cutting off many people, and have sinned against your soul.

¹⁷ He that is soon angry deals foolishly: And a man of wicked devices is hated.

²⁹ He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: But he that is hasty of spirit exalts folly.

³² He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that rules his spirit than he that takes a city.

¹⁴ The beginning of strife is as when one lets out water: Therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with.

⁶ A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calls for strokes.

¹¹ The discretion of a man defers his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

²⁴ Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who deals in proud wrath.

⁸ Do not go hastily forth to strive, lest you know not what to do in the end of it, when your neighbor has put you to shame. ⁹ Debate your cause with your neighbor himself; and do not disclose a secret to another: ¹⁰ Lest he that hears it put you to shame, and your infamy does not cease.

⁶ to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved. ⁷ In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace; ⁸ in which He has abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;

³² And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you.

¹⁴ But if you have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, do not boast, and do not lie against the truth.

¹ From what source do wars and fighting come from among you? Do they not come from this, even out of your lusts that war in your members?

¹⁰ Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: ¹¹ So shall your poverty come as one that travels abroad, and your want as an armed man.

⁴ He that deals with a slack hand becomes poor: But the hand of the diligent makes rich.

⁴ The soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing: But the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

¹⁵ Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.

³⁴ So shall your poverty come as one that travels abroad; and your want as an armed man.

¹³ The slothful man says, "There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets." ¹⁴ As the door turns upon its hinges, so does the slothful upon his bed. ¹⁵ The slothful hides his hand in his bosom; it grieves him to bring it back again to his mouth. ¹⁶ The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason.

³ Those who were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: ⁴ But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. ⁵ While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. ⁶ And at midnight a cry was made, 'Behold, the bridegroom comes; go out to meet him.' ⁷ Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. ⁸ And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil; for our lamps have gone out.' ⁹ But the wise answered, saying, 'Not so, lest there not be enough for us and you: But rather go to those that sell, and buy for yourselves.' ¹⁰ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage: And the door was shut.

²⁴ Then he who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew that you are a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed: ²⁵ And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the earth: Look, there you have what is yours.' ²⁶ His lord answered and said to him, 'You wicked and slothful servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed: ²⁷ Therefore you ought to have put my money with the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received back my own with interest. ²⁸ Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.

⁵ And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; ⁶ and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; ⁷ and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness love. ⁸ For if these things are in you, and abound, they make you such that you shall be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁹ But he that lacks these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and has forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. ¹⁰ Therefore better yet, brethren, be diligent to make your calling and election sure: For if you do these things, you shall never fall: ¹¹ For after that an entrance shall abundantly be ministered to you into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

⁶ They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: Both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.

⁴ The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.

¹² For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly toward you.

¹¹ For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, ¹² teaching us that through denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

¹² It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: For the throne is established by righteousness.

²⁶ A wise king scatters the wicked, and brings the wheel over them.

⁵ Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.

¹⁴ The king that faithfully judges the poor, his throne shall be established forever.

¹ Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.

⁴⁶ If they sin against you, (for there is no man that sins not), and you be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives to the land of the enemy, far or near;

³⁶ If they sin against you, (for there is no man which sins not), and you be angry with them, and deliver them over before their enemies, and they carry them away captives to a land far off or near;

⁴ Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? Not one.

¹⁴ What is man, that he should be clean? And he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?

⁴ How then can man be justified with God? Or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?

⁵ Behold, I was shaped in iniquity; and in sin my mother conceived me.

²⁰ For there is not a just man on earth, that does good, and does not sin.

⁴ For I know nothing by myself; yet I am not justified by this: But He that judges me is the Lord.

² For in many things we offend everyone. If any man does not offend in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

⁸ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. ⁹ If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ¹⁰ If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

³⁵ You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in length, in weight, or in measure.

²⁵ The graven images of their gods shall you burn with fire: You shall not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it to you, lest you be snared in it: For it is an abomination to the LORD your God. ²⁶ Neither shall you bring an abomination into your house, lest you be a cursed thing like it: But you shall utterly detest it, and you shall utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.

¹³ You shall not have in your bag diverse weights, a great and a small. ¹⁴ You shall not have in your house diverse measures, a great and a small. ¹⁵ But you shall have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shall you have: That your days may be lengthened in the land which the LORD your God gives you.

¹ A false balance is abomination to the LORD: But a just weight is His delight.

¹¹ A just weight and balance are the LORD's: All the weights of the bag are His work.

²³ Diverse weights are an abomination to the LORD; and a false balance is not good.

⁴ Hear this, O you that swallow up the needy, even to make the poor of the land to fail, ⁵ saying, "When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? And the Sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?new moon; or, month ⁶ That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; yes, and sell the refuse of the wheat?" ⁷ The LORD has sworn by the excellency of Jacob, "Surely I will never forget any of their works.

¹⁰ Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable? ¹¹ Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights?

⁸ But the fearful, unbelieving, the abominable, murderers, whoremongers, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: Which is the second death."

³ The wicked are estranged from the womb: They go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies.

⁸ The way of man is froward and strange: But as for the pure, his work is right.

¹⁵ Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

¹⁶ You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

¹⁵ For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb.

⁶⁶ And all those who heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, "What sort of child shall this be?" And the hand of the Lord was with him.

⁴⁶ And it came to pass, that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors of the law, both hearing them, and asking them questions. ⁴⁷ Moreover, all who heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers.

¹¹ And the LORD said to him, "Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes the mute, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? Have not I the LORD?

⁹ He that planted the ear, shall He not hear? He that formed the eye, shall He not see?

¹⁸ You open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of Your law.

¹³ Therefore I speak to them in parables: Because seeing they do not see; and hearing they do not hear, neither do they understand. ¹⁴ And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says, 'By hearing you shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing you shall see, and shall not perceive: ¹⁵ For this people's heart is waxed over, and their ears are dull of hearing, and they have closed their eyes; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.' ¹⁶ But blessed are your eyes, for they see: And your ears, for they hear.

¹⁸ to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith that is in Me.'

¹⁷ that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him: ¹⁸ The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, and what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

⁹ How long will you sleep, O sluggard? When will you arise out of your sleep?

¹¹ He that tills his land shall be satisfied with bread: But he that follows vain persons is void of understanding.

³⁰ I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding; ³¹ and, look, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face of it, and its stone wall was broken down. ³² Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction. ³³ Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: ³⁴ So shall your poverty come as one that travels abroad; and your want as an armed man.

⁶ So the shipmaster came to him, and said to him, "What do you intend, O sleeper? Arise, call upon your God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we do not perish."

⁶ That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: Because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we have also forewarned you and testified.

¹² But where shall wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding? ¹³ Man knows not its price; neither is it found in the land of the living. ¹⁴ The depth said, "It is not in me: And the sea said, "It is not with me. ¹⁵ It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for its price. ¹⁶ It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire. ¹⁷ The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: And the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold. ¹⁸ No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: For the price of wisdom is above rubies. ¹⁹ The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold.

¹⁵ She is more precious than rubies: And all the things you can desire are not to be compared to her.

¹¹ For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

²⁰ The tongue of the just is as choice silver: The heart of the wicked is worth little. ²¹ The lips of the righteous feed many: But fools die for lack of wisdom.

⁷ The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: But the heart of the foolish does not do so.

²³ A man has joy by the answer of his mouth: And a word spoken in due season, how good it is!

¹⁶ How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! And choosing to get understanding rather than silver!

²¹ The wise in heart shall be called prudent: And the sweetness of the lips increases learning.

²⁴ Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

¹² As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.

⁹ And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yes, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs. ¹⁰ The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: And that which was written was upright, even words of truth. ¹¹ The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.

¹⁴ How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? ¹⁵ And how shall they preach, except if they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!"

²⁹ Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good for the use of edifying, that it may minister grace to the hearers.

²⁶ If you take any of your neighbor's clothing to pledge, you shall deliver it to him by that time the sun goes down: ²⁷ For that is his only covering, it is his clothing for his skin: In what shall he sleep? And it shall come to pass, when he cries to Me, that I will hear; for I am gracious.

¹⁶ To deliver you from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flatters with her words;

³ For the lips of a strange woman drop as a honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:

⁵ That they may keep you from the strange woman, from the stranger which flatters with her words.

¹⁰ And behold, there met him a woman with the attire of a harlot, and subtle of heart.

¹⁵ He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: And he that hates suretyship is secure.

²⁶ Do not be one of those that strike hands, or of those that are surety for debts. ²⁷ If you have nothing to pay, why should he take away your bed from under you?

²⁷ For a whore is a deep ditch; and a strange woman is a narrow pit.

¹³ Take his garment that is surety for a stranger, and take a pledge for a strange woman from him.

⁶ And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit, and ate, and also gave to her husband with her; and he ate. ⁷ And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

¹² Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue; ¹³ though he spare it, and forsake it not; but keep it still within his mouth: ¹⁴ Yet his meat in his bowels is turned, it is the gall of asps within him. ¹⁵ He has swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again: God shall cast them out of his belly. ¹⁶ He shall suck the poison of asps: The viper's tongue shall slay him. ¹⁷ He shall not see the rivers, the floods, the brooks of honey and butter. ¹⁸ That which he labored for shall he restore, and shall not swallow it down: According to his substance shall the restitution be, and he shall not rejoice in it. ¹⁹ Because he has oppressed and has forsaken the poor; because he has violently taken away a house which he built not; ²⁰ surely he shall not feel quietness in his belly, he shall not save of that which he desired.

¹⁷ For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.

¹⁷ "Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant." ¹⁸ But he does not know that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.

⁹ Rejoice, O young man, in your youth; and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth, and walk in the ways of your heart, and in the sight of your eyes: But know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.

¹⁵ He has filled me with bitterness, HJe has made me drunk with wormwood. ¹⁶ He has also broken my teeth with gravel stones, He has covered me with ashes.

²⁵ choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

¹ Now after the death of Joshua it came to pass, that the children of Israel asked the LORD, saying, "Who shall go up for us against the Canaanites first, to fight against them? ² And the LORD said, "Judah shall go up: Behold, I have delivered the land into his hand.

²⁹ And would to God this people were under my hand! Then would I remove Abimelech. And he said to Abimelech, "Increase your army, and come out.

⁷ Behold, you are all children of Israel; give here your advice and counsel.

¹⁸ And the children of Israel arose, and went up to the house of God, and asked counsel of God, and said, "Which of us shall go up first to the battle against the children of Benjamin? And the LORD said, "Judah shall go up first.

²³ (And the children of Israel went up and wept before the LORD until even, and asked counsel of the LORD, saying, "Shall I go up again to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother? And the LORD said, "Go up against him).

²⁶ Then all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up, and came to the house of God, and wept, and sat there before the LORD, and fasted that day until even, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD. ²⁷ And the children of Israel inquired of the LORD, (for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days, ²⁸ and Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days), saying, "Shall I yet again go out to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease? And the LORD said, "Go up; for tomorrow I will deliver them into your hand.

²⁶ Then Abner called to Joab, and said, "Shall the sword devour forever? Do you not know that it will be bitterness in the latter end? How long shall it be then, ere you bid the people return from following their brothers? ²⁷ And Joab said, "As God lives, unless you had spoken, surely then in the morning the people had gone up every one from following his brother.

¹⁷ Then Amaziah king of Judah took advice, and sent to Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, "Come, let us see one another in the face. ¹⁸ And Joash king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, "The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, "Give your daughter to my son to wife: And there passed by a wild beast that was in Lebanon, and stepped down the thistle. ¹⁹ You say, 'Lo, you have smitten the Edomites'; and your heart lifts you up to boast: Abide now at home; why should you meddle to your hurt, that you should fall, even you, and Judah with you? ²⁰ But Amaziah would not hear; for it came of God, that He might deliver them into the hand of their enemies, because they sought after the gods of Edom. ²¹ So Joash the king of Israel went up; and they saw one another in the face, both he and Amaziah king of Judah, at Bethshemesh, which belongs to Judah. ²² And Judah was put to the worse before Israel, and they fled every man to his tent. ²³ And Joash the king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, at Bethshemesh, and brought him to Jerusalem, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, four hundred cubits.

¹⁴ Where no counsel is, the people fall: But in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.

²² Without counsel purposes are disappointed: But in the multitude of counsellors they are established.

⁶ For by wise counsel you shall make your war: And in multitude of counsellors there is safety.

⁸ Do not go hastily forth to strive, lest you know not what to do in the end of it, when your neighbor has put you to shame.

³¹ Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first, and consult whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him that comes against him with twenty thousand?

¹⁶ You shall not go up and down as a talebearer among your people: Neither shall you stand against the blood of your neighbor; I am the LORD.

¹³ A talebearer reveals secrets: But he that is of a faithful spirit conceals the matter.

³ He that keeps his mouth keeps his life: But he that opens wide his lips shall have destruction.

²⁹ A violent man entices his neighbor, and leads him into the way that is not good.

⁸ The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

²¹ My son, fear the LORD and the king: And do not meddle with those that are given to change:

²⁰ Where no wood is, there the fire goes out: So where there is no talebearer, the strife ceases. ²¹ As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife. ²² The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

¹⁸ For those that are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

¹² Honor your father and your mother: That your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God gives you.

¹⁷ And he that curses his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.curses; or, reviles

⁹ For everyone that curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death: He has cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be on him.

¹⁶ Cursed be he that sets light by his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, "Amen.

⁵ Yes, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the spark of his fire shall not shine. ⁶ The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and his candle shall be put out with him.

¹⁸ He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.

⁹ The light of the righteous rejoices: But the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.

²⁰ For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.

¹¹ There is a generation that curses their father, and does not bless their mother.

¹⁷ The eye that mocks at his father, and despises to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.

⁴ For God commanded, saying, 'Honor your father and mother': And, 'He that curses father or mother, let him die the death.'

¹³ Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'

⁸ And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil; for our lamps have gone out.'

¹⁰ For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother'; and, 'Whoever curses father or mother, let him die the death': ¹¹ But you say, 'If a man says to his father or mother, "Whatever you might be profited through me is Corban" ', that is to say, a gift; he shall be free of obligation. ¹² And you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or his mother; ¹³ making the Word of God of no effect through your tradition, which you have passed down: And many such similar things you do."

¹³ raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.

¹⁶ Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare clothing as the clay; ¹⁷ he may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver.

⁴ Do not labor to be rich: Cease out of your own wisdom.

⁸ He that by usury and unjust gain increases his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.

²⁰ A faithful man shall abound with blessings: But he that makes haste to be rich shall not be innocent.

²² He that hastens to be rich has an evil eye, and does not consider that poverty shall come upon him.

⁶ Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, 'Woe to him that increases that which is not his! How long? And woe to him that lades himself with thick clay!'?

⁴ "I will bring it forth", says the LORD of hosts, "and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that swears falsely by My name: And it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with its timber and its stones."

² If you all will not hear, and if you all will not lay it to heart, to give glory to My name", says the LORD of hosts, "I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: Yes, I have cursed them already, because you all do not lay it to heart.

⁹ But those that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

³⁵ To me belongs vengeance and recompense; their foot shall slide in due time: For the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.

¹² It may be that the LORD will look on my affliction, and that the LORD will requite me good for his cursing this day.

¹⁴ Wait on the LORD: Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart: Wait, I say, "on the LORD.

³⁴ Wait on the LORD, and keep His way, and He shall exalt you to inherit the land: When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.

¹³ Whoever rewards evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house.

²⁹ Do not say, "I will do so to him as he has done to me: I will render to the man according to his work."

³¹ But those who wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.

²⁵ The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. ²⁶ It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

³⁹ But I say to you, That you are not to resist evil: But whoever smites you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.

¹⁷ Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honestly in the sight of all men. ¹⁸ If it is possible, as much as rests with you, live peaceably with all men. ¹⁹ Dearly beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath: For it is written, "Vengeance is Mine; I will repay", says the Lord.

¹⁵ See that no one renders evil for evil to any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

²³ Who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten; but committed Himself to Him that judges righteously:

⁹ Not rendering evil for evil, or returning reproach for reproach: But on the contrary blessing; knowing that you are called to this, that you should inherit a blessing.

¹⁹ Therefore let those that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to Him in well doing, as to a faithful Creator.

¹⁰ Diverse weights, and diverse measures, both of them alike are abomination to the LORD.

¹⁰ "You shall have just balances, and a just ephah, and a just bath.

⁷ He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: He loves to oppress.

⁵ saying, "When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? And the Sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?new moon; or, month

⁴ Show me Your ways, O LORD; teach me Your paths.

¹² What man is he that fears the LORD? He shall teach him in the way that He shall choose.

²³ The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: And he delights in his way.

⁸ The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: But the folly of fools is deceit.

⁹ A man's heart devises his way: But the LORD directs his steps.

⁶ I will send him against a hypocritical nation, and I will give him a charge against the people of my wrath, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire in the streets. ⁷ However, he does not mean so, neither does his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off not a few nations.

²³ O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: It is not in man who walks to direct his steps.

²³ but have lifted up yourself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of His house before you, and you, and your lords, your wives, and your concubines, have drunk wine from them; and have praised the gods of silver and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see, nor hear, nor know: And the God in Whose hand is your breath, and Whose are all your ways, you have not glorified:

²⁸ For in Him we live, and move, and have our being; as also certain ones of your own poets have said, 'For we are also His offspring.'

¹⁵ if a soul commit a trespass, and sin through ignorance, in the holy things of the LORD; then he shall bring for his trespass to the LORD a ram without blemish out of the flocks, with your estimation by shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass offering.

¹⁰ There shall no stranger eat of the holy thing: A sojourner of the priest, or a hired servant, shall not eat of the holy thing. ¹¹ But if the priest buy any soul with his money, he shall eat of it, and he that is born in his house: They shall eat of his meat. ¹² If the priest's daughter also be married to a stranger, she may not eat of an offering of the holy things. ¹³ But if the priest's daughter be a widow, or divorced, and have no child, and is returned to her father's house, as in her youth, she shall eat of her father's meat: But there shall be no stranger eat of it. ¹⁴ And if a man eat of the holy thing unwittingly, then he shall put the fifth part of it to it, and shall give it to the priest with the holy thing. ¹⁵ And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer to the LORD;

⁹ And if it be a beast, whereof men bring an offering to the LORD, all that any man gives of such to the LORD shall be holy. ¹⁰ He shall not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good: And if he shall at all change beast for beast, then it and its exchange shall be holy.

³⁰ And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD's: It is holy to the LORD. ³¹ And if a man will at all redeem ought of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth part of it.

² If a man vow a vow to the LORD, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth. ³ If a woman also vow a vow to the LORD, and bind herself by a bond, being in her father's house in her youth; ⁴ and her father hear her vow, and her bond with which she has bound her soul, and her father shall hold his peace at her; then all her vows shall stand, and every bond with which she has bound her soul shall stand. ⁵ But if her father disallow her in the day that he hears; not any of her vows, or of her bonds with which she has bound her soul, shall stand: And the LORD shall forgive her, because her father disallowed her. ⁶ And if she had at all a husband, when she vowed, or uttered ought out of her lips, with which she bound her soul; ⁷ and her husband heard it, and held his peace at her in the day that he heard it: Then her vows shall stand, and her bonds with which she bound her soul shall stand. ⁸ But if her husband disallowed her on the day that he heard it; then he shall make her vow which she vowed, and that which she uttered with her lips, with which she bound her soul, of none effect: And the LORD shall forgive her. ⁹ But every vow of a widow, and of her that is divorced, with which they have bound their souls, shall stand against her. ¹⁰ And if she vowed in her husband's house, or bound her soul by a bond with an oath; ¹¹ and her husband heard it, and held his peace at her, and disallowed her not: Then all her vows shall stand, and every bond with which she bound her soul shall stand. ¹² But if her husband has utterly made them void on the day he heard them; then whatever proceeded out of her lips concerning her vows, or concerning the bond of her soul, shall not stand: Her husband has made them void; and the LORD shall forgive her. ¹³ Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may make it void. ¹⁴ But if her husband altogether hold his peace at her from day to day; then he establishes all her vows, or all her bonds, which are on her: He confirms them, because he held his peace at her in the day that he heard them. ¹⁵ But if he shall any ways make them void after that he has heard them; then he shall bear her iniquity. ¹⁶ These are the statutes, which the LORD commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, between the father and his daughter, being yet in her youth in her father's house.

⁷ A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.

⁴ When you vow a vow to God, do not defer to pay it; for he has no pleasure in fools: Pay that which you have vowed. ⁵ It is better that you should not vow, than that you should vow and not pay. ⁶ Do not allow your mouth to cause your flesh to sin; neither shall you say before the angel, that it was an error: Why should God be angry at your voice, and destroy the work of your hands?

⁸ Will a man rob God? Yet you all have robbed Me. But you all say, 'In what have we robbed You?' In tithes and offerings. ⁹ You all are cursed with a curse: For you all have robbed Me, even this whole nation. ¹⁰ Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, all of you, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now with this", says the LORD of hosts, "if I will not open to you the windows of heaven, and pour out a blessing upon you, such that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

³³ Again, you have heard that it has been said by those of old times, 'You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform to the Lord your oaths':

⁹ And David answered Rechab and Baanah his brother, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said to them, "As the LORD lives, who has redeemed my soul out of all adversity, ¹⁰ when one told me, saying, "Behold, Saul is dead, thinking to have brought good tidings, I took hold of him, and slew him in Ziklag, who thought that I would have given him a reward for his tidings: ¹¹ How much more, when wicked men have slain a righteous person in his own house on his bed? Shall I not therefore now require his blood of your hand, and take you away from the earth? ¹² And David commanded his young men, and they slew them, and cut off their hands and their feet, and hanged them up over the pool in Hebron. But they took the head of Ishbosheth, and buried it in the sepulcher of Abner in Hebron.

³¹ And he brought forth the people that were in it, and put them under saws, and under harrows of iron, and under axes of iron, and made them pass through the brick-kiln: And thus did he to all the cities of the children of Ammon. So David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.

⁵ Whoever privately slanders his neighbor, him I will cut off: He who has a high look and a proud heart I will not suffer.

⁸ A king that sits in the throne of judgment scatters away all evil with his eyes.

²⁷ For the fitches are not threshed with a threshing instrument, neither is a cart wheel turned rolled upon the cummin; but the fitches are beaten out with a staff, and the cummin with a rod. ²⁸ Bread flour is ground; because he will not be threshing it forever, nor break it with the wheel of his cart, nor bruise it with his horsemen.

⁷ And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

⁸ But there is a spirit in man: And the inspiration of the Almighty gives them understanding.

³⁰ The blueness of a wound cleanses away evil: So do stripes the inward parts of the belly.

¹⁵ Who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts like the plaintiff accusing or else excusing one another;)

² but have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the Word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. ³ But if our gospel is hid, it is hid to those that are lost: ⁴ In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of those who do not believe, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. ⁵ For we do not preach about ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and we ourselves are your servants for Jesus' sake. ⁶ For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

¹² For the Word of God is lively, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing apart of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. ¹³ Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight: But all things are naked and uncovered to the eyes of Him with Whom we have to give account.

¹⁹ And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him. ²⁰ For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. ²¹ Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, then we have confidence toward God.

⁷ For the king trusts in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.

⁷ He shall abide before God forever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.

¹ A Psalm of David. I will sing of mercy and judgment: To You, O LORD, I will sing.

⁶ By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: And by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

⁵ And in mercy the throne shall be established: And He shall sit on it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hastening righteousness.

³² You shall rise up before the hoary head, and honor the face of the old man, and fear your God: I am the LORD.

³¹ The whitish head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.

²³ Thus says the LORD, "Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: ²⁴ But let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD who exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: For in these things I delight", said the LORD.

¹⁴ I have written to you, fathers, because you have known Him that is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the Word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one.

²⁵ Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: And reprove one that has understanding, and he will understand knowledge.

⁹ By this therefore the iniquity of Jacob shall be purged; and this is all the fruit of taking away his sin; when he makes all the stones of the altar as chalkstones that are beaten to pieces, the wooden pillars and images shall not stand up.

⁵ But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: The chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.
