⁴² Watch therefore: For you do not know what hour your Lord comes.

³⁶ But of that day and hour no man knows, no, not the angels of heaven, but My Father only.

⁴⁴ Therefore you also be ready: For the Son of Man comes at such an hour that you do not think.

³⁸ And He said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death: Tarry here, and watch with Me." ³⁹ And He went a little further, fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me: Nevertheless not as I will, but as You will." ⁴⁰ Then He came to the disciples, and found them asleep, and said to Peter, "What, could you not watch with Me one hour? ⁴¹ Watch and pray, that you do not enter into temptation: The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

³³ Take heed, watch and pray: For you do not know when the time is. ³⁴ For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. ³⁵ Watch therefore: For you do not know when the master of the house comes, in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning: ³⁶ Lest coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. ³⁷ And what I say to you I say to all, Watch."

³⁵ Let your loins be girded around, and your lights burning; ³⁶ and liken yourselves to men that wait for their lord, when he shall return from the wedding; that when he comes and knocks, they may open to him immediately. ³⁷ Blessed are those servants, whom when the lord comes shall find watching: Truly I say to you, That he shall gird himself, and make them sit down to eat, and will come forth and serve them. ³⁸ And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. ³⁹ Moreover know this, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have let his house be broken through. ⁴⁰ Therefore you also be ready: For the Son of Man comes at an hour you would not think."

³⁶ Watch therefore, and pray always, that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man."

¹¹ Also this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: For now our salvation is nearer than when we believed.

¹³ Watch, stand fast in the faith, carry through like men, be strong.

⁶ Therefore let us not sleep, as others do; but let us watch and be sober.

⁷ But the end of all things is at hand: Therefore be sober, and watchful with prayer.

⁸ Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour:

² Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: For I have not found your works perfect before God. ³ Remember therefore how you have received and heard, and hold firmly fixed, and repent. If therefore you shall not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you shall not know what hour I will come upon you.
