¹ "For the kingdom of heaven is likened to a man who is a householder, who went out early in the morning to hire laborers into his vineyard. ² And when he had agreed with the laborers for a silver coin a day, he sent them into his vineyard. ³ And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, ⁴ and said to them, 'You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.' He said to them, 'You also go into the vineyard; and whatever is right, that you shall receive.' ⁸ So when evening had come, the lord of the vineyard said to his steward, 'Call the laborers, and give them their wages, beginning from the last to the first.' ⁹ And when those who were hired about the eleventh hour came, every man received a silver coin. ¹⁰ But when the first came, they supposed that they should receive more; and they likewise received a silver coin each. ¹¹ And when they received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house, ¹² saying, 'These last have worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have carried the burden and heat of the day.' ¹³ But he answered one of them, and said, 'Friend, I do you no wrong: Did you not agree with me for a silver coin? ¹⁴ Take what is yours, and go your way: I will give to this last, even as to you. ¹⁵ Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with my own? Is your eye evil because I am good?' ¹⁶ So the last shall be first, and the first last: For many are called, but few chosen. ¹⁷ Then Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples aside on the way, and said to them, ¹⁸ "Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man shall be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes, and they shall condemn Him to death, ¹⁹ and shall deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify Him: And the third day He shall rise again." ²⁰ Then the mother of Zebedee's children came to Him with her sons, worshiping Him, and desiring a certain thing from Him. ²¹ And He said to her, "What do you desire?" She said to Him, "Grant that these two sons of mine may sit, the one on Your right hand, and the other on the left, in Your kingdom." ²² And Jesus answered and said, "You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?" They said to Him, "We are able." ²³ And He said to them, "You shall indeed drink of My cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: But to sit on My right hand, and on My left, is not Mine to give, but it shall be given to those for whom it is prepared by My Father." ²⁴ And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren. ²⁵ But Jesus called them to Him, and said, "You know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and those that are great exercise authority upon them. ²⁶ But it shall not be so among you: But whoever desires to be great among you, let him be your minister. ²⁷ And whoever desires to be chief among you, let him be your servant: ²⁸ Even as the Son of Man did not come to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many." ²⁹ And as they departed from Jericho, a large multitude followed Him. ³⁰ And behold, two blind men sitting by the roadside, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, "Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David." ³¹ And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: But they cried out all the more, saying, "Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David." ³² Then Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, "What do you will that I do to you?" ³³ They said to Him, "Lord, that our eyes may be opened." ³⁴ So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: And immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him.

³ "From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even to this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the LORD has come to me, and I have spoken to you, rising early and speaking; but you have not listened. ⁴ And the LORD has sent to you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but you have not listened, nor inclined your ear to hear.

² and saying, "Repent: For the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

³⁷ And He said to His disciples, "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few: ³⁸ Therefore pray to the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth laborers into His harvest."

³³ Hear another parable: There was a certain householder who planted a vineyard, and hedged it all around, and dug a winepress in it, and built a tower, and leased it out to vinedressers, and went into a far country: ³⁴ Now when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers, that they might receive the fruit of it. ³⁵ But the vinedressers took his servants, and beat one, killed another, and stoned yet another. ³⁶ Again, he sent other servants more than the first: And they did likewise to them. ³⁷ But last of all he sent his son to them, saying, 'They will reverence my son.' ³⁸ But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, 'This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.' ³⁹ And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him. ⁴⁰ Therefore when the lord of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers? ⁴¹ They said to Him, "He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will lease out his vineyard to other vinedressers, which shall give him the fruits in their seasons." ⁴² Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the scriptures: 'The stone which the builders rejected, the same has become the head of the corner: This is the LORD'S doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes'? ⁴³ Therefore I say to you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits of it.

² "The kingdom of heaven is likened to a certain king who made a marriage for his son,

³⁷ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you that kill the prophets, and stone those which are sent to you; how often I would have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!

²¹ make you perfect in every good work to do His will, working in you that which is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

⁵ And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; ⁶ and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; ⁷ and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness love. ⁸ For if these things are in you, and abound, they make you such that you shall be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁹ But he that lacks these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and has forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. ¹⁰ Therefore better yet, brethren, be diligent to make your calling and election sure: For if you do these things, you shall never fall:

⁵ Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice, and keep My covenant, then you shall be a peculiar treasure to Me above all people: For all the earth is Mine: ⁶ And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation.' These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel."

²⁷ Go you near, and hear all that the LORD our God shall say: And speak you to us all that the LORD our God shall speak to you; and we will hear it, and do it. ²⁸ And the LORD heard the voice of your words, when you spoke to me; and the LORD said to me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken to you: They have well said all that they have spoken. ²⁹ O that there were such a heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all My commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children forever! ³⁰ Go say to them, Get you into your tents again.

¹² And it shall come to pass, as soon as I am gone from you, that the Spirit of the LORD shall carry you where I do not know; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he cannot find you, he shall slay me: But I your servant fear the LORD from my youth.

³ For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father: And in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images.

¹ Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, while the evil days have not come, nor the years draw near, when you shall say, "I have no pleasure in them;

²⁸ But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellow-servants, who owed him a hundred silver coins: And he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, 'Pay me what you owe!'

¹³ But he answered one of them, and said, 'Friend, I do you no wrong: Did you not agree with me for a silver coin?

¹⁹ Show Me the tribute money." And they brought to Him a silver coin.

¹⁵ For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb.

³⁵ And on the next day when he departed, he took out two silver coins, gave them to the host, and said to him, 'Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.'

¹⁵ Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.

⁴⁹ Behold, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom, pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

¹⁶ But to what shall I liken this generation? It is likened to children sitting in the marketplaces, and calling to their friends, ¹⁷ and saying: 'We have piped to you, and you have not danced; we have mourned to you, and you have not lamented.'

⁶ And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and said to them, 'Why do you stand here idle all day?' ⁷ They said to him, 'Because no man has hired us.' He said to them, 'You also go into the vineyard; and whatever is right, that you shall receive.'

²⁵ Now it was the third hour, and they crucified Him.

¹⁵ For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.

¹⁷ Therefore he disputed in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout people, and in the market daily with those that met with him. ¹⁸ Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoics, encountered him. And some said, "What will this babbler say?" ¹³ And together they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but also tattlers and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

And who gave You this authority?" ²⁴ And Jesus answered and said to them, "I will also ask you one thing, which if you tell me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things. ²⁵ The baptism of John, where was it from? From heaven, or from men?" And they reasoned among themselves, saying, "If we say, 'From heaven'; He will say to us, 'Why then did you not believe him?' ²⁶ But if we say, 'From men'; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet." ²⁷ Therefore they answered Jesus, and said, "We cannot tell." And He said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things. ²⁸ But what do you think? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, 'Son, go work today in my vineyard.' ²⁹ He answered and said, 'I will not': But afterward he repented, and went. ³⁰ Then he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, 'I will go, sir': And did not go. ³¹ Which of those two did the will of his father?" They said to Him, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

⁷ Yet when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, "He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner." ⁸ Now Zacchaeus stood, and said to the Lord; "Behold, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore him fourfold." ⁹ And Jesus said to him, "This day salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham. ¹⁰ For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost."

¹⁶ Do you not know that to whom you yield yourselves as servants to obey, you are his servants whom you obey; whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness? ¹⁷ But God be thanked, that you were the servants of sin, but you have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered to you. ¹⁸ Being then made free from sin, you became the servants of righteousness. ¹⁹ I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: For as you have yielded your members servants to uncleanness, and to iniquity onto more iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness onto holiness. ²⁰ For when you were servants of sin, you were free from righteousness. ²¹ What fruit did you have then in those things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. ²² But now being made free from sin, and having become servants to God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end everlasting life.

¹¹ And such were some of you: But you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

¹ Masters, give to your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.

¹² And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has enabled me, for He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; ¹³ who was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an injurious man: But I obtained mercy, because I did those things ignorantly in unbelief.

⁸ This is a faithful saying, and it is my will that you affirm these things constantly, that those who have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.

¹³ Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

² that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. ³ For the years past of our life may suffice for us to have worked the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revelries, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:

⁴⁵ Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour.

³³ And when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. ³⁴ Then at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" which being interpreted is, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?"

⁴⁴ Now it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. ⁴⁵ Even the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in the middle. ⁴⁶ And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, "Father, 'into Your hands I commend My spirit' ": And having said that, He gave up the ghost.

³⁹ He said to them, "Come and see." They came and saw where He dwelt, and abode with Him that day: For it was about the tenth hour.

⁶ Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with His journey, sat thus on the well: And it was about the sixth hour.

⁹ Jesus answered, "Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.

³ About the ninth hour of the day he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God coming in to him, and saying to him, "Cornelius."

⁹ On the next day, as they went on their journey, and drew near to the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

²⁴ By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; ²⁵ choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; ²⁶ esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: For he had respect for the recompense of the reward.

¹⁰ Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, where you go.

⁴⁰ But the other answering rebuked him, saying, "Do you not fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? ⁴¹ And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: But this Man has done nothing amiss." ⁴² Then he said to Jesus, "Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom." ⁴³ And Jesus said to him, "Truly I say to you, Today you shall be with Me in Paradise."

⁴ I must work the works of Him that sent Me, while it is day: The night is coming, when no man can work.

⁹ Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you shall find, invite to the marriage.' ¹⁰ So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together as many as they all found, both bad and good: And the wedding was furnished with guests.

²¹ So that servant came, and brought word of these things to his lord. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, 'Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring into this place the poor, and the maimed, and the lame, and the blind.' ²² And the servant said, 'Lord, it is done as you have commanded, and yet there is room.' ²³ Then the lord said to the servant, 'Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

¹⁶ saying, "What shall we do to these men? For indeed it is apparent to all those who dwell in Jerusalem that a notable miracle has been done by them; and we cannot deny it.

³⁰ Indeed, the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commands all men everywhere to repent: ³¹ Because He has appointed a day, in which He will judge the world in righteousness by that Man whom He has ordained; of which He has given assurance to all men, in that He has raised Him from the dead."

¹⁴ How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? ¹⁵ And how shall they preach, except if they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!" ¹⁶ But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah said, "LORD, who has believed our report?" ¹⁷ So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

²⁵ Now to Him that is powerful to establish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

¹¹ Therefore remember, that in time past you were Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; ¹² because at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

⁵ which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it is now revealed to His holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; ⁶ that the Gentiles should be fellow-heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ by the gospel:

⁸ Knowing that whatever good any man does, he shall receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a bond-servant or free.

²⁶ even the mystery which has been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to His saints:

¹⁰ For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

² And Abram said, "Lord GOD, what will You give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?"

⁴ And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: And he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand. ⁵ And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field. ⁶ And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he did not have knowledge of anything he had, except the bread which he ate. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well-favored.

¹⁹ And they came near to the steward of Joseph's house, and they communed with him at the door of the house,

¹³ You shall not defraud your neighbor, neither rob him: The wages of him that is hired shall not abide with you all night until the morning.

¹⁵ At his day you shall give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down on it; for he is poor, and sets his heart on it: Lest he cry against you to the LORD, and it be sin to you.

³⁹ the enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. ⁴⁰ Therefore, as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so it shall be at the end of this world.

¹⁹ After a long time the lord of those servants came, and settled accounts with them.

³¹ When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He shall sit upon the throne of His glory:

³ and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, who ministered to Him out of their substance.

⁷ And remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give: For the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not go from house to house.

⁴² And the Lord said, "Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season?

¹ Moreover He also said to His disciples, "There was a certain rich man which had a steward; and the same stewart was accused to him that he had wasted his goods. ² Therefore he called him, and said to him, 'What is this that I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship; for you may no longer be steward.'

⁶ who "will render to every man according to his deeds": ⁷ To those who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life: ⁸ But to those who are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, ⁹ tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that does evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; ¹⁰ but glory, honor, and peace to every man who works good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

¹ Let a man so account for us, as ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. ² Moreover, it is required in stewards that a man be found faithful.

¹⁰ For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to what he has done, whether it is good or bad.

⁷ For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not self-willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, doesn't strike others, not given to filthy profit;

²⁸ So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and to those that look for Him He shall appear the second time without sin to salvation.

¹⁰ As every man has received the gift, even so minister the same to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

¹¹ And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. ¹² And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life: And the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

² And when he had agreed with the laborers for a silver coin a day, he sent them into his vineyard.

³ For what does the scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." ⁴ Now to him who works, the reward is not accounted as grace, but as debt. ⁵ But to him that does not work, but believes on Him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted as righteousness. ⁶ Even as David also describes the blessedness of the man, to whom God imputes righteousness without works,

²⁰ Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: ²¹ That as sin has reigned to death, even so might grace reign through righteousness to eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

⁶ to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved. ⁷ In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace; ⁸ in which He has abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;

⁸ For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: It is the gift of God: ⁹ Not of works, lest any man should boast. ¹⁰ For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God has ordained beforehand that we should walk in them.

¹⁴ And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. ¹⁶ Nevertheless, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who should hereafter believe upon Him to life everlasting.

³⁰ But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against His disciples, saying, "Why do You eat and drink with publicans and sinners?"

² And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, "This Man receives sinners, and eats with them."

²⁸ But he was angry, and would not go in: Therefore his father came out, and implored him. ²⁹ And he answering said to his father, 'Look, these many years I serve you, neither have I transgressed your commandment at any time: And yet you never gave me a kid goat, that I might make merry with my friends: ³⁰ But as soon as this son of yours came, who has devoured your estate with harlots, you killed the fatted calf for him.'

⁷ Yet when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, "He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner."

² And when Peter had come up to Jerusalem, those who were of the circumcision contended with him, ³ saying, "You went in to uncircumcised men, and ate with them."

⁴⁵ But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spoke against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.

²¹ Then He said to me, 'Depart: For I will send you far from this place to the Gentiles.' " ²² And they gave him audience until this word, and then they lifted up their voices, and said, "Away with such a fellow from the earth: For it is not proper that he should live."

¹⁶ Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to always fill up their sins: For the wrath has come upon them to the uttermost.

¹⁶ These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaks great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.

² Yet they seek Me daily, and delight to know My ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and did not forsake the ordinance of their God: They ask of Me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching God. ³ They say, 'Why have we fasted, and You do not see? Why have we afflicted our soul, and You do not take notice?' Behold, in the day of your fast you find pleasure, and compel all your labors.

⁸ And it came to pass, when the sun arose, that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of Jonah, such that he fainted, and wished in himself to die, and said, "It is better for me to die than to live."

³ and to speak to the priests which were in the house of the LORD of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, "Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done for so many years?" ⁴ Then the word of the LORD of hosts came to me, saying, ⁵ "Speak to all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, 'When you all fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did you all really fast to Me at all, even to Me?

¹³ You all also said, 'Behold, what a weariness it is!' And you all have snuffed at it", says the LORD of hosts; "and you all brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; in this manner you all brought an offering: Should I accept this from your hand?", says the LORD.

¹⁴ You all have said, 'It is vain to serve God: And what profit is it that we have kept His ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts?

⁵⁵ And when you see the south wind blow, you say, 'There will be heat'; and it comes to pass.

¹⁰ But when you are invited, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he who invited you comes, he may say to you, 'Friend, go up higher': Then you shall have honor in the presence of those who sit at food with you. ¹¹ For whoever exalts himself shall be abased; and he that humbles himself shall be exalted."

¹¹ The Pharisee stood and prayed in this manner with himself, 'God, I thank You that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. ¹² I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.'

²² even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ to all and upon all those who believe: For there is no difference: ²³ For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; ²⁴ being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

²⁷ Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No: But by the law of faith.

³⁰ Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.

³⁰ What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, who did not follow after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. ³¹ But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, has not attained to the law of righteousness. ³² Why? Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling-stone;

¹ Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they might be saved. ² For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. ³ For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God.

⁵ Even so then, at this present time there is also a remnant according to the election of grace. ⁶ And if by grace, then it is no longer of works: Otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, then it is no longer grace: Otherwise work is no longer work.

¹¹ Even to this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are beaten, and have no certain dwelling place;

²³ Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, in deaths often. ²⁴ From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one. ²⁵ Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; ²⁶ on frequent journeys, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by my own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; ²⁷ in weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. ²⁸ Besides those things that are external, that which comes upon me daily, the care of all the churches.

⁶ that the Gentiles should be fellow-heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ by the gospel:

¹¹ For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, then it withers the grass, and the flower thereof falls, and the grace of its fashion perishes: So also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

²⁵ Far be it from You to do hurt in this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: And that the righteous should be as the wicked, far be it from You: Shall the Judge of all the earth not do right?"

⁸ Which goes in company with the workers of iniquity, and walks with wicked men. ⁹ For he has said, "It profits a man nothing that he should delight himself with God. ¹⁰ Therefore listen to me you men of understanding: Far be it from God, that He should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity. ¹¹ For the work of a man shall he render to him, and cause every man to find according to his ways. ¹² Yes, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.

¹⁷ Shall even he that hates right govern? And will you condemn him that is most just? ¹⁸ Is it fit to say to a king, You are wicked? And to princes, You are ungodly?

² think you this to be right, that you said, "My righteousness is more than God's?

⁸ Will you also cancel my judgment? Will you condemn me, that you may be righteous?

¹² And he said to him, 'Friend, how did you come in here not having a wedding garment?' And he was speechless.

⁵⁰ And Jesus said to him, "Friend, why have you come?" Then they came, and laid hands on Jesus, and took Him.

¹⁴ What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. ¹⁵ For He says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion."

²⁰ No rather, O man, who are you that replies against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, "Why have you made me like this?"

¹⁶ And he said, "Come with me, and see my zeal for the LORD. So they made him ride in his chariot.

³⁰ And the LORD said to Jehu, "Because you have done well in executing that which is right in my eyes, and have done to the house of Ahab according to all that was in my heart, your children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel. ³¹ But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the LORD God of Israel with all his heart: For he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin.

¹⁸ "Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon caused his army to serve a great service against Tyrus: Every head was made bald, and every shoulder was peeled: Yet he had no wages, nor his army, for Tyrus, for the service that he had served against it: ¹⁹ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; 'Behold, I will give the land of Egypt to Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall take her multitude, and take her spoil, and take her prey; and it shall be the wages for his army. ²⁰ I have given him the land of Egypt for his labor with which he served against it, because they worked for Me', said the Lord GOD.

² Therefore, when you do your charitable deeds, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward.

⁶ But you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father which is in secret: And your Father which sees in secret shall reward you openly.

¹⁶ Moreover, when you fast, do not be as the hypocrites, with a sad countenance: For they disfigure their faces, that they may appear to men to be fasting. Truly I say to you, They have their reward.

³¹ And he said to him, 'Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours.

²⁵ But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted, and you are tormented.

² As you have given Him power over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him.

⁴ God forbid: Moreover, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, "That You might be justified in Your sayings, and might overcome when You are judged."

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever things the law says, it says to those who are under the law: That every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

¹⁹ And He said, "I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy."

⁶ For you are a holy people to the LORD your God: The LORD your God has chosen you to be a special people to himself, above all people that are on the face of the earth. ⁷ The LORD did not set his love on you, nor choose you, because you were more in number than any people; for you were the fewest of all people: ⁸ But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn to your fathers, has the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of servants, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

⁹ Beware that there be not a thought in your wicked heart, saying, "The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and your eye be evil against your poor brother, and you give him nothing; and he cry to the LORD against you, and it be sin to you.

⁵⁴ So that the man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave:

⁴ However, the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever: For he has chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Israel: ⁵ And of all my sons, (for the LORD has given me many sons), he has chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel.

⁶ Do not eat the bread of him that has an evil eye, neither desire his dainty meats:

²² He that hastens to be rich has an evil eye, and does not consider that poverty shall come upon him.

⁵ 'I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and have given it to whom it seemed proper to Me. ⁶ And now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, My servant; and I have also given him the wild beasts of the field to serve him. ⁷ And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son, until the very time of his land comes: And then many nations and great kings shall enservant him.

¹ But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was very angry. ² And he prayed to the LORD, and said, "I implore You, O LORD, was this not my concern, when I was still in my country? Therefore I fled beforehand to Tarshish: For I knew that You are a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and You repent of the evil. ³ Therefore, O LORD, take now, I beseech You, my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live. ⁴ Then the LORD said, "Do you do well to be angry?"

²³ But if your eye is evil, your whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

²⁵ At that time Jesus answered and said, "I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them to babes.

²² thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

¹⁵ For He says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion." ¹⁶ So then it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. ¹⁷ For the scripture says to Pharaoh, "Even for this same purpose I have raised you up, that I might show My power in you, and that My name might be declared throughout all the earth." ¹⁸ Therefore He has mercy on whom He will have mercy, and whom He wills He hardens. ¹⁹ Then you will say to me, "Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?" ²⁰ No rather, O man, who are you that replies against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, "Why have you made me like this?" ²¹ Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor, and another for dishonor? ²² What if God, willing to show His wrath, and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: ²³ And that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory, ²⁴ even us, whom He has called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

⁷ For who makes you to differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you received it, why do you boast, as if you had not received it?

¹¹ In Whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things after the counsel of His own will:

¹ And you He has vivified, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

⁵ even when we were dead in sins, has vivified us together with Christ, (by grace you are saved);

¹⁸ Of His own will He begot us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first-fruits of His creatures.

⁹ Do not hold a grudge against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned: Behold, the Judge stands before the door.

¹³ Enter in at the narrow gate: For wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in through it:

¹¹ And I say to you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. ¹² But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

³⁰ But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first."

³¹ Which of those two did the will of his father?" They said to Him, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

¹⁴ For many are called, but few are chosen."

³¹ But many that are first shall be last; and the last first."

⁴⁷ Therefore I say to you, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little."

²⁸ There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. ²⁹ And they shall come from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God. ³⁰ And behold, there are last who shall be first, and there are first who shall be last."

²⁴ For I say to you, That none of those men who were called shall taste of my supper.' "

⁷ I say to you, That likewise more joy shall be in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine just persons, which need no repentance.

¹⁷ And Jesus responding said, "Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? ¹⁸ There are not any found that returned to give glory to God, except this stranger."

¹⁹ The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, "Do you perceive how you prevail in nothing? Behold, the world has gone after Him." ²⁰ Now there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast: ²¹ The same then came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and implored him, saying, "Sir, we would like to see Jesus." ²² Philip came and told Andrew; and in turn Andrew and Philip told Jesus.

¹³ But we are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brethren, beloved of the Lord, because God has chosen you for salvation from the beginning through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: ¹⁴ Therefore He called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

²³ For if anyone is a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like a man beholding his natural face in a mirror: ²⁴ For he beholds himself, and goes his way, and immediately forgets what sort of man he was. ²⁵ But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues in it, he not being a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

¹⁷ And the LORD said, "Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I am doing;

¹¹ He answered and said to them, "Because it is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

¹³ When Jesus came inside the borders of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, "Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?"

³² Now they were on the road going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: And they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. Then He took the twelve again, and began to tell them what things would happen to Him, ³³ saying, "Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man shall be delivered to the chief priests, and to the scribes; and they shall condemn Him to death, and shall deliver Him to the Gentiles: ³⁴ And they shall mock Him, and shall scourge Him, and shall spit upon Him, and shall kill Him: And the third day He shall rise again."

³¹ Then He took the twelve to Himself, and said to them, "Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of Man shall be accomplished. ³² For He shall be delivered to the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully treated, and spit on: ³³ Then they shall scourge Him, and put Him to death: And the third day He shall rise again." ³⁴ Yet they understood none of these things: And this saying was hid from them, neither did they know the things which were spoken.

¹² On the next day many people who had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,

¹⁵ From this time forward I do not call you servants; for the servant does not know what his lord does: But I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.

⁴¹ not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen in advance by God, even to us, who ate and drank with Him after He rose from the dead.

¹ Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? ² The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against His anointed, saying, ³ "Let us break their bands apart, and cast away their cords from us."

Why are You so far from helping Me, and from the words of My roaring? ² O my God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear; and in the night season, and am not silent. ³ But You are holy, O You that inhabit the praises of Israel. ⁴ Our fathers trusted in You: They trusted, and You delivered them. ⁵ They cried out to You, and were delivered: They trusted in You, and were not confounded. ⁶ But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people. ⁷ All those that see Me laugh Me to scorn: They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, ⁸ "He trusted on the LORD that He would deliver Him: Let Him deliver Him, seeing He delighted in Him." ⁹ But You are He that took Me out of the womb: You made Me hope when I was on My mother's breasts. ¹⁰ I was cast upon You from the womb: You are My God from My mother's belly. ¹¹ Be not far from Me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help. ¹² Many bulls have compassed Me: Strong bulls of Bashan have beset Me around. ¹³ They gaped upon Me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion. ¹⁴ I am poured out like water, and all My bones are out of joint: My heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of My bowels. ¹⁵ My strength is dried up like a broken clay pot fragment; and My tongue sticks to My jaws; and you have brought Me into the dust of death. ¹⁶ For dogs have compassed around Me: The assembly of the wicked have enclosed Me: They pierced My hands and My feet. ¹⁷ I may count all My bones: They look and stare upon Me. ¹⁸ They part My garments among them, and cast lots upon My clothing. ¹⁹ But You, O LORD, be not far from Me: O My strength, hasten to help Me. ²⁰ Deliver My soul from the sword; My darling self from the power of the dog. ²¹ Save Me from the lion's mouth: For You have heard Me from the horns of the unicorns. ²² I will declare Your name to My brethren: In the midst of the congregation I will praise You. ²³ All you that fear the LORD, praise Him; all you seed of Jacob, glorify Him; and fear Him, all you seed of Israel. ²⁴ For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither has He hid His face from him; but when he cried out to Him, He heard. ²⁵ My praise shall be of You in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before those that fear Him. ²⁶ The meek shall eat and be satisfied: They shall praise the LORD that seek Him: Your heart shall live forever. ²⁷ All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the LORD: And all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before You. ²⁸ For the kingdom is the LORD's: And He is the governor among the nations. ²⁹ All those that are fat upon earth shall eat and worship: All those that go down to the dust shall bow before Him: And none can keep alive his own soul. ³⁰ A seed shall serve Him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation. ³¹ They shall come, and shall declare His righteousness to a people that shall be born, that He has done this.

Save me, O God; for the waters have come in to my soul. ² I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. ³ I am weary of my crying: My throat is dried: My eyes fail while I wait for my God. ⁴ Those who hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head: Those who would destroy me, being my enemies wrongfully, are mighty: Then I restored that which I did not take away. ⁵ O God, You know my foolishness; and my sins are not hidden from You. ⁶ Do not let those that wait on You, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: Do not let those that seek You be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel. ⁷ Because for Your sake I have borne reproach; shame has covered my face. ⁸ I have become a stranger to my brothers, and an alien to my mother's children. ⁹ For the zeal of Your house has eaten me up; and the reproaches of those that reproached You have fallen upon me. ¹⁰ When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach. ¹¹ I also made sackcloth my garment; and I became a proverb to them. ¹² Those who sit in the gate speak against me; and I was the song of the drunkards. ¹³ But as for me, my prayer is to You, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of Your mercy hear me, in the truth of Your salvation. ¹⁴ Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: Let me be delivered from those that hate me, and out of the deep waters. ¹⁵ Do not let the flood waters overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and do not let the pit shut her mouth upon me. ¹⁶ Hear me, O LORD; for your lovingkindness is good: Turn to me according to the multitude of your tender mercies. ¹⁷ And do not hide Your face from Your servant; for I am in trouble: Hear me speedily. ¹⁸ Draw near to my soul, and redeem it: Deliver me because of my enemies. ¹⁹ You have known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonor: My adversaries are all before You. ²⁰ Reproach has broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: And I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none. ²¹ They also gave me gall for my food; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink. ²² Let their table become a snare before them: And that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap. ²³ Let their eyes be darkened, that they do not see; and make their loins continually to shake. ²⁴ Pour out Your indignation upon them, and let Your wrathful anger take hold of them. ²⁵ Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents. ²⁶ For they persecute him whom You have smitten; and they speak to the grief of those whom You have wounded. ²⁷ Add iniquity to their iniquity: And do not let them come into Your righteousness. ²⁸ Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous. ²⁹ But I am poor and sorrowful: Let Your salvation, O God, set me up on high. ³⁰ I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving. ³¹ This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bull that has horns and hoofs. ³² The humble shall see this, and be glad: And your heart shall live that seek God. ³³ For the LORD hears the poor, and does not despise His prisoners. ³⁴ Let the heaven and earth praise Him, the seas, and everything that moves in it. ³⁵ For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah: That they may dwell there, and have it in possession. ³⁶ The seed of His servants also shall inherit it: And those that love His name shall dwell in it.

¹ Who has believed our report? And to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? ² For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: He has no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him. ³ He is despised and rejected by men; a Man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: And we hid our faces from Him as it were; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. ⁴ Surely He has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: Yet we had esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. ⁵ But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: The chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed. ⁶ All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. ⁷ He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He did not open his mouth: He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so He does not open his mouth. ⁸ He was taken from prison and from judgment: And who shall declare His generation? For He was cut off out of the land of the living: For the transgression of My people was He stricken. ⁹ And He made His grave with the wicked, and with the rich in His death; because He had done no violence, neither was any deceit in His mouth. ¹⁰ Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief: When you shall make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand. ¹¹ He shall see of the travail of His soul, and shall be satisfied: By His knowledge my righteous servant shall justify many; for He shall bear their iniquities. ¹² Therefore I will divide to Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong; because He has poured out His soul to death: And He was numbered with the transgressors; and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

²⁴ Seventy weeks are determined upon your people and upon your holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy. ²⁵ Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem to the Messiah the Prince, shall be seven weeks, and sixty-two weeks: The street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. ²⁶ And after sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself: And the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end of it shall be with a flood, and until the end of the war desolations are determined. ²⁷ And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: And in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that which is determined shall be poured upon the desolate."

²¹ From that time forward Jesus began to show to His disciples how He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised again the third day.

²² And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man shall be betrayed into the hands of men: ²³ And they shall kill Him, and the third day He shall be raised again." And they were exceedingly sorrowful.

² "You know that after two days is the Feast of the Passover, and the Son of Man is betrayed to be crucified."

⁶⁶ What do you think?" They answered and said, "He is guilty of death."

¹ When the morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put Him to death:

⁶⁴ You have heard the blasphemy: What do you think?" And they all condemned Him to be guilty of death. ⁶⁵ Then some began to spit on Him, and to cover His face, and to buffet Him, and to say to Him, "Prophesy": And the servants struck Him with the palms of their hands.

⁷¹ And they said, "What need do we have of any further witness? For we ourselves have heard from His own mouth."

²³ Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

²⁷ "For truly against Your holy Child Jesus, whom You have anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, ²⁸ to do whatever Your hand and Your counsel determined beforehand to be done.

⁷ All those that see Me laugh Me to scorn: They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, ⁸ "He trusted on the LORD that He would deliver Him: Let Him deliver Him, seeing He delighted in Him."

¹⁶ As with hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.

¹⁹ Your dead men shall live, together with my dead body they shall arise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in dust: For your dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

³ He is despised and rejected by men; a Man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: And we hid our faces from Him as it were; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

² After two days He will revive us: On the third day He will raise us up, and we shall live in His sight.

⁴⁰ For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

⁶⁷ Then they spat in His face, and buffeted Him; and others smote Him with the palms of their hands, ⁶⁸ saying, "Prophesy to us, You Christ; who is he that smote You?"

² And when they had bound Him, they led Him away, and delivered Him to the governor Pontius Pilate. ³ Then Judas, who had betrayed Him, when he saw that He was condemned, repented himself, and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, ⁴ saying, "I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood." And they said, "What is that to us? You see to that." ⁵ Then he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hung himself. ⁶ And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, "It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, because it is the price for blood." ⁷ And they took counsel, and bought the potter's field with the silver pieces, to bury strangers in. ⁸ Therefore that field was called 'The field of blood', even to this day. ⁹ Then that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled, saying, "And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of Him that was valued, whom those of the children of Israel did value; ¹⁰ and gave them for the potter's field, as the LORD appointed me."

²⁷ Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered the whole band of soldiers to Him. ²⁸ And they stripped Him, and put a scarlet robe on Him. ²⁹ And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon His head, and a reed in His right hand: And they bowed the knee before Him, and mocked Him, saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!" ³⁰ Then they spat upon Him, and took the reed, and smote Him on the head. ³¹ And after they had mocked Him, they took the robe off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him away to crucify Him.

⁶⁵ Then some began to spit on Him, and to cover His face, and to buffet Him, and to say to Him, "Prophesy": And the servants struck Him with the palms of their hands.

¹ Then in the morning without delay, the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, carried Him away, and delivered Him to Pilate.

¹⁶ And the soldiers led Him away into the hall, called Praetorium, and they called together the whole band of soldiers. ¹⁷ Then they clothed Him with purple, platted a crown of thorns, and put it around His head, ¹⁸ and began to salute Him, "Hail, King of the Jews!" ¹⁹ Then they smote Him on the head with a reed, and spat on Him, and bowing their knees worshiped Him. ²⁰ And when they had mocked Him, they took the purple off of Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him out to crucify Him.

²⁹ And those who passed by railed at Him, wagging their heads, and saying, "Ah, You that destroy the temple, and rebuild it in three days, ³⁰ save Yourself, and come down from the cross." ³¹ Likewise also the chief priests mocking, said among themselves with the scribes, "He saved others; He cannot save Himself.

¹ Then the whole multitude of them arose, and led Him to Pilate. ² And they began to accuse Him, saying, "We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that He Himself is Christ a King." ³ And Pilate asked Him, saying, "Are You the King of the Jews?" And He answered him, and said, "You say it." ⁴ Then Pilate said to the chief priests and to the people, "I find no fault in this Man." ⁵ But they were all the more fierce, saying, "He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Jewry, beginning from Galilee to this place."

¹¹ Also Herod with his men of war disdained Him as nothing, mocked Him, arrayed Him in a gorgeous robe, and sent Him back to Pilate.

⁴⁶ and He said to them, "Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

²⁸ Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas to the hall of judgment: And it was early; but they themselves did not go into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; that they might yet eat the Passover. ²⁹ Pilate then went out to them, and said, "What accusation do you bring against this Man?" ³⁰ They answered and said to him, "If He were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered Him up to you." ³¹ Then Pilate said to them, "You take Him, and judge Him according to your law." Therefore the Jews said to him, "It is not lawful for us to put any man to death": ³² That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which He spoke, signifying what death He should die. ³³ Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, called Jesus, and said to Him, "Are You the King of the Jews?" ³⁴ Jesus answered him, "Do you say this thing of yourself, or did others tell it to you about Me?" ³⁵ Pilate answered, "Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered You to me: What have You done?" ³⁶ Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world: If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: But now My kingdom is not from here." ³⁷ Pilate therefore said to Him, "Are You a king then?" Jesus answered, "You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born, and for this cause I came into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone that is of the truth hears My voice." ³⁸ Pilate said to Him, "What is truth?" And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, "I find no fault in Him at all.

¹ Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged Him. ² And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on His head, and they put a purple robe on Him, ³ And said, "Hail, King of the Jews!" And they smote Him with their hands. ⁴ Pilate therefore went forth again, and said to them, "Behold, I bring Him forth to you, that you may know that I find no fault in Him."

¹³ The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His Son Jesus; whom you delivered up, and denied Him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go. ¹⁴ But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted to you; ¹⁵ and killed the Prince of life, whom God has raised from the dead; of which we are witnesses. ¹⁶ And His name through faith in His name has made this man strong, whom you see and know: Yes, the faith which is through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

²⁷ "For truly against Your holy Child Jesus, whom You have anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,

¹¹ When he had come to us, he took Paul's belt, bound his own hands and feet, and said, "Thus says the Holy Spirit, 'So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man who owns this belt, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.' "

³ For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received, how Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; ⁴ and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures: ⁵ And that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve: ⁶ After that, He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain to this present, but some are deceased. ⁷ After that, He was seen by James; then by all the apostles.

¹¹ And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down, and worshiped Him: And when they had opened their treasures, they presented to Him gifts; gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

²¹ And going on from there, He saw two other brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and He called them.

² And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, "Lord, if you are willing, You can make me clean."

³³ Then those who were in the ship came and worshiped Him, saying, "Truly You are the Son of God."

²⁵ Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, "Lord, help me."

⁵⁶ Among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee's children.

¹⁷ And when they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted.

³⁵ Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Him, saying, "Master, we would like that You do for us whatever we desire." ³⁶ And He said to them, "What do you will that I should do for you?" ³⁷ They said to Him, "Grant to us that we may sit, one on Your right hand, and the other on Your left hand, in Your glory." ³⁸ But Jesus said to them, "You do not know what you ask: Can you drink of the cup that I drink of? And be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?" ³⁹ And they said to Him, "We can." And Jesus said to them, "You shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and you shall be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: ⁴⁰ But to sit on My right hand and on My left hand is not Mine to give; but it shall be given to those for whom it is prepared." ⁴¹ And when the ten heard it, they began to be greatly displeased with James and John. ⁴² But Jesus called them to Him, and said to them, "You know that those who are deemed to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. ⁴³ But it shall not be so among you: Indeed whoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: ⁴⁴ And whoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. ⁴⁵ For even the Son of Man did not come to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many."

⁴⁰ There were also women looking on from afar: Among whom was Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the Less and of Joses, and Salome;

¹⁹ Bathsheba therefore went to king Solomon, to speak to him for Adonijah. And the king rose up to meet her, and bowed himself to her, and sat down on his throne, and caused a seat to be set for the king's mother; and she sat on his right hand.

⁵ In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: And God said, "Ask what I shall give you.

³ Then the king said to her, "What do you wish, queen Esther? And what is your request? It shall be given to you even to half of the kingdom."

⁹ Kings' daughters were among Your honorable women: Upon Your right hand stood the queen in gold of Ophir.

¹ A Psalm of David. The LORD said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, until I make Your enemies Your footstool."

⁵ And do you seek great things for yourself? Do not seek them: For behold, I will bring evil on all flesh", said the LORD: "but I will give your life to you as booty in all places where you go." ' "

¹ At the same time the disciples came to Jesus asking, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"

²⁸ And Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you, That in the regeneration when the Son of Man shall sit on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me shall also sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

³² Then Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, "What do you will that I do to you?"

²² And when Herodias' daughter came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and those who sat with him, the king said to the damsel, "Ask of me whatever you desire, and I will give it to you."

³⁶ And He said to them, "What do you will that I should do for you?" ³⁷ They said to Him, "Grant to us that we may sit, one on Your right hand, and the other on Your left hand, in Your glory."

⁵¹ And Jesus answered and said to him, "What do you will that I should do to you?" The blind man said to Him, "Lord, that I may receive my sight."

¹⁹ So then after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

²⁰ Also when the Pharisees demanded of Him, when the kingdom of God should come, He answered them and said, "The kingdom of God does not come with observation: ²¹ Neither shall they say, 'Look here!' or 'Look there!' For behold, the kingdom of God is within you."

⁴¹ saying, "What is your will that I should do to you?" And he said, "Lord, that I may receive my sight."

¹¹ Now as they heard these things, He added and spoke another parable, because He was near Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.

²⁴ Moreover there also was strife among them, as to which of them should be deemed the greatest.

⁷ If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done to you.

⁶ When they therefore had come together, they asked Him, saying, "Lord, will You at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?"

³⁴ Who is he that condemns? It is Christ that died, now rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

¹⁰ Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another;

¹ If then you are risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits at the right hand of God.

² and to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellow-soldier, and to the church in your house: ³ Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

³ The earth and all its inhabitants are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.

¹⁸ Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

¹⁷ Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, who have drunk the cup of his fury at the hand of the LORD; you have drunken the dregs of the cup of trembling, and wrung them out.

²² Thus said your Lord the LORD, and your God that pleads the cause of His people, "Behold, I have taken out of your hand the cup of trembling, even the dregs of the cup of My fury; you shall no more drink it again:

¹⁵ For thus says the LORD God of Israel to me; "Take the wine cup of this fury at My hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send you, to drink it. ¹⁶ And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them." ¹⁷ Then I took the cup at the LORD's hand, and made all the nations to drink, to whom the LORD had sent me: ¹⁸ To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and her kings, and her princes, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and a curse; as it is this day; ¹⁹ pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people; ²⁰ and all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod, ²¹ edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon, ²² and all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which are beyond the sea, ²³ dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners, ²⁴ and all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert, ²⁵ and all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes, ²⁶ and all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are on the face of the earth: And the king of Sheshach shall drink after them. ²⁷ "Therefore you shall say to them, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; "Drink all of you, and be drunken, and spew, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you." ' ²⁸ And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at your hand to drink, then you shall say to them, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts; "You shall certainly drink. ²⁹ For lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by My name, and should you be utterly unpunished? You shall not be unpunished: For I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth", said the LORD of hosts.' ³⁰ Therefore prophesy you against them all these words, and say to them, 'The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter His voice from His holy habitation; He shall mightily roar on His habitation; He shall give a shout, as those who tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth. ³¹ A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD has a controversy with the nations, He will plead with all flesh; He will give those who are wicked to the sword', said the LORD." ³² Thus says the LORD of hosts, "Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the borders of the earth. ³³ And on that day the slain of the LORD shall be from one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth: They shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground. ³⁴ Howl, all of you shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, you principal of the flock: For the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and you shall fall like a pleasant vessel. ³⁵ And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape. ³⁶ A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and a howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard: For the LORD has spoiled their pasture. ³⁷ And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the LORD. ³⁸ He has forsaken His covert, as the lion: For their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the Oppressor, and because of His fierce anger."

¹² For thus says the LORD; "Behold, those whose judgment was to not drink of the cup have assuredly drunken; and are you he who shall go altogether unpunished? You shall not go unpunished, but you shall surely drink of it.

³⁵ Peter said to Him, "Even if I must die with You, yet I will not deny You." All the disciples also said likewise.

³⁹ And He went a little further, fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me: Nevertheless not as I will, but as You will."

⁴² He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if this cup may not pass away from Me, unless I drink it, Your will be done."

⁵⁶ But all this was done that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled." Then all the disciples forsook Him, and fled.

³⁸ But Jesus said to them, "You do not know what you ask: Can you drink of the cup that I drink of? And be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?" ³⁹ And they said to Him, "We can." And Jesus said to them, "You shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and you shall be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with:

³⁶ And He said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible for You; take away this cup from Me: Nevertheless not what I will, but what You will."

⁵⁰ But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how pressed I am until it is accomplished!

⁴² saying, "Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me: Nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done."

¹¹ Then Jesus said to Peter, "Put your sword into the sheath: The cup which My Father has given Me, shall I not drink it?"

²⁶ Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities: For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought: But the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

³ You ask, and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may consume it upon your lusts.

³⁴ Then the King shall say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

⁴⁰ But to sit on My right hand and on My left hand is not Mine to give; but it shall be given to those for whom it is prepared."

² Moreover he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

¹⁷ And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if as should be we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

⁹ But as it is written, "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither has entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those that love Him."

⁷ And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so shall you also be of the consolation.

²⁴ who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is lacking of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for His body's sake, which is the church:

¹¹ It is a faithful saying: For if we are dead with Him, we shall also live with Him: ¹² If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: If we deny Him, He will also deny us:

¹⁶ But now they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly: Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: For He has prepared a city for them.

⁹ I John, who am also your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos, for the Word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

¹⁰ Only by pride comes contention: But with the well advised is wisdom.

⁴¹ And when the ten heard it, they began to be greatly displeased with James and John.

²³ Then they began to inquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing. ²⁴ Moreover there also was strife among them, as to which of them should be deemed the greatest. ²⁵ And He said to them, "The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and those who exercise authority upon them are called 'benefactors.'

⁴ Love suffers long, and is kind; love does not envy; love does not vaunt itself, is not puffed up,

³ Let nothing be done through strife or vain-glory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves.

¹⁴ But if you have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, do not boast, and do not lie against the truth.

⁵ Do you think that the scripture says in vain, "The Spirit that dwells in us lusts to envy"? ⁶ But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."

⁵ Likewise you younger ones, submit yourselves to the elder. Yes, all of you be subject to one another, and be clothed with humility: For "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."

¹² For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon. ¹³ And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain.

³⁷ You, O king, are a king of kings: For the God of heaven has given you a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. ³⁸ And wherever the children of men dwell, He has given the wild beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven into your hand, and has made you ruler over them all. You are this head of gold. ³⁹ And after you shall arise another kingdom inferior to yours, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth. ⁴⁰ And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: In as much as iron breaks in pieces and subdues all things: And as iron that breaks all these, it shall break in pieces and bruise. ⁴¹ And whereas you saw the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it the strength of the iron, in as much as you saw the iron mixed with miry clay. ⁴² And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. ⁴³ And whereas you saw iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: But they shall not cleave to one another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. ⁴⁴ And in the days of these kings the God of heaven shall set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: And the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. ⁴⁵ In as much as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God has made known to the king what shall come to pass in time to come: And the dream is certain, and the interpretation of it sure."

² Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counselors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. ³ Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counselors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together to the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up. ⁴ Then a herald cried aloud, "To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages, ⁵ that at what time you hear the sound of the horn, flute, harp, sackbut trumpet, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of music, you fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king has set up: ⁶ And whoever does not fall down and worship shall in the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace." ⁷ Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the horn, flute, harp, sackbut trumpet, psaltery, and all kinds of music, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshiped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

¹⁵ Now if you are ready that at what time you hear the sound of the horn, flute, harp, sackbut trumpet, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of music, you fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: But if you do not worship, you shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is the God that shall deliver you out of my hands?"

¹⁹ Then Nebuchadnezzar was full of fury, and the expression of his face was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: Therefore he spoke, and commanded that they should heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated. ²⁰ And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace. ²¹ Then these men were bound in their coats, their trousers, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. ²² Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire slew those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

¹⁹ And for the majesty that He gave him, all people, nations, and languages, trembled and feared before him: He slew whom he would, and he kept alive whom he would; and he set up whom he would; and he put down whom he would.

²⁹ Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: And you shall find rest for your souls.

³ and said, "Truly I say to you, Unless you are converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. ⁴ Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

²⁵ But Jesus called them to Him, and said, "You know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and those that are great exercise authority upon them. ²⁶ But it shall not be so among you: But whoever desires to be great among you, let him be your minister. ²⁷ And whoever desires to be chief among you, let him be your servant: ²⁸ Even as the Son of Man did not come to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many."

⁴² But Jesus called them to Him, and said to them, "You know that those who are deemed to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.

²⁵ And He said to them, "The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and those who exercise authority upon them are called 'benefactors.' ²⁶ But you all shall not be like this: But he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that serves.you all: In KJV, ye; hence "you all" signifies a plural "you" ²⁷ For who is greater, he that sits at food, or he that serves? Is it not he that sits at food? But I am among you as He that serves.

¹² So after He had washed their feet, taken His clothes, and sat down again, He said to them, "Do you know what I have done to you? ¹³ You call Me Master and Lord: And you say well; for so I am. ¹⁴ If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; you also ought to wash one another's feet. ¹⁵ For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. ¹⁶ Truly, truly, I say to you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither is he that is sent greater than he that sent him. ¹⁷ If you know these things, happy are you if you do them.

¹³ In your filthiness is lewdness: Because I have purged you, and you were not purged, you shall not be purged from your filthiness any more, until I have caused My fury to rest on you.

⁸ But you, do not be called 'Rabbi': For One is your Master, even Christ; and all you are brethren. ⁹ And do not call any man your father upon the earth: For One is your Father, which is in heaven. ¹⁰ Neither be called masters; For One is your Master, even Christ. ¹¹ But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. ¹² And whoever exalts himself shall be abased; and he that humbles himself shall be exalted.

⁴⁴ Then they also shall answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to You?'

⁵⁵ And many women were there beholding afar off, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to Him:

³⁵ And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, "If any man desires to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all."

⁴³ But it shall not be so among you: Indeed whoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:

⁴⁵ For even the Son of Man did not come to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many."

⁷ And He put forth a parable to those who were called, when He noted how they chose the uppermost rooms; saying to them, ⁸ "When you are invited by anyone to a wedding, do not sit down in the highest room; lest a man more honorable than you be called by him; ⁹ and he who invited you and him come and say to you, 'Give this man a place'; and you begin with shame to take the lowest room.

¹⁴ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: For everyone who exalts himself shall be abased; and he that humbles himself shall be exalted."

³⁶ Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world: If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: But now My kingdom is not from here."

⁵ And when they were at Salamis, they preached the Word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: And they also had John as their minister.

²⁴ Not that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers for your joy: For by faith you stand.

⁴ (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God for the pulling down of strongholds); ⁵ casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ; ⁶ and being ready to avenge all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. ⁷ Do you look upon things according to the outward appearance? If any man trusts within himself that he is Christ's, let him think to himself again about this, that as he is Christ's, even so we are Christ's. ⁸ For though I should boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Lord has given us for edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed: ⁹ That I may not seem as if I would terrify you by letters. ¹⁰ "For his letters", they say, "are weighty and powerful; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible."

¹⁸ The Lord grant to him that he may find mercy from the Lord in that day: And you know very well in how many things he ministered to me at Ephesus.

¹³ Whom I would have retained with me, that in your place he might have ministered to me in the bonds of the gospel: ¹⁴ Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for those who shall be heirs of salvation?

¹¹ If any man speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God gives: That in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be the praise and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

³ neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock.

⁹ I wrote to the church: But Diotrephes, who loves to have the preeminence among them, does not receive us. ¹⁰ Therefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he does, prating against us with malicious words: And not content with that, neither does he himself receive the brethren, and forbids those that would receive them, and drives them out of the church.

¹¹ Then I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke as a dragon. ¹² And he exercises all the power of the first beast before him, and causes the earth and those that dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. ¹³ And he does great wonders, so that he makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, ¹⁴ and deceives those that dwell on the earth by means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to those who dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and lived. ¹⁵ And he had power to give life to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. ¹⁶ And he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond-servants, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: ¹⁷ And that no man might buy or sell, except he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

⁶ And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: And when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

⁴ Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

³³ Then He came to Capernaum: And being in the house He asked them, "What was it that you disputed among yourselves by the road?" ³⁴ But they held their peace: For by the road they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest. ³⁵ And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, "If any man desires to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all."

³⁴ Yes, you yourselves know that these hands have served for my necessities, and for those that were with me. ³⁵ I have shown you all things, how by so laboring you ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' "

¹⁴ I am a debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.

¹⁹ For though I am free from all men, yet I have made myself servant to all, that I might gain all the more. ²⁰ And to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to those that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain those that are under the law; ²¹ to those that are without law, as without law (not being without law to God, but under the law to Christ), that I might gain those that are without law. ²² To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. ²³ Now this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be a partaker of it with you.

⁵ For we do not preach about ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and we ourselves are your servants for Jesus' sake.

⁵ For I suppose I was not the least bit behind the very great chief apostles.

²³ Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, in deaths often. ²⁴ From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one. ²⁵ Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; ²⁶ on frequent journeys, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by my own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; ²⁷ in weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

¹⁵ And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I am loved.

²⁴ Then he is gracious to him, and said, "Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.

⁷ none of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

⁵ But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: The chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.

⁸ He was taken from prison and from judgment: And who shall declare His generation? For He was cut off out of the land of the living: For the transgression of My people was He stricken.

¹⁰ Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief: When you shall make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand. ¹¹ He shall see of the travail of His soul, and shall be satisfied: By His knowledge my righteous servant shall justify many; for He shall bear their iniquities.

²⁴ Seventy weeks are determined upon your people and upon your holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy. ²⁵ Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem to the Messiah the Prince, shall be seven weeks, and sixty-two weeks: The street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. ²⁶ And after sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself: And the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end of it shall be with a flood, and until the end of the war desolations are determined.

²⁰ And Jesus said to Him, "The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head."

²⁸ for this is My blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

²⁴ And He said to them, "This is My blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.

²⁷ For who is greater, he that sits at food, or he that serves? Is it not he that sits at food? But I am among you as He that serves.

¹⁵ As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father: And I lay down My life for the sheep.

⁵⁰ nor do you consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation should not perish." ⁵¹ Now this he did not speak of himself: But being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation; ⁵² and not for that nation only, but also that He would gather together in one the children of God who were scattered abroad.

⁴ He rose from supper, and laid aside His clothes; and took a towel, and girded Himself. ⁵ After that He poured water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. ⁶ Then He came to Simon Peter: And Peter said to Him, "Lord, do You wash my feet?" ⁷ Jesus answered and said to him, "What I do you do not understand now; but you shall understand in time to come." ⁸ Peter said to Him, "You shall never wash my feet." Jesus answered him, "If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me." ⁹ Simon Peter said to Him, "Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head." ¹⁰ Jesus said to him, "He that is washed needs only to wash his feet, yet is altogether clean: And you are clean, but not all of you." ¹¹ For He knew who would betray Him; therefore He said, "You are not all clean."

²⁴ being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: ²⁵ Whom God has set out to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; ²⁶ to declare, I say, at this time His righteousness: That He might be just, and the justifier of him that believes in Jesus.

²⁵ Who was delivered for our offenses, and was raised again for our justification.

¹⁵ But the free gift is not also as the offense. For if through the offense of one many are dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one Man, Jesus Christ, has abounded to many. ¹⁶ And the gift is not as though it came by one that sinned: For the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offenses to justification. ¹⁷ For if by one man's offense death reigned by one; much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by One, Jesus Christ.) ¹⁸ Therefore, as by the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of One the free gift came upon all men to justification of life. ¹⁹ For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of One many shall be made righteous.

⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that through His poverty you might be rich.

¹³ Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: For it is written, "Cursed is everyone that hangs on a tree":

⁷ In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace;

² and walk in love, as Christ also has loved us, and has given Himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savor.

⁴ Let not every man look upon his own things, but every man also after the things of others. ⁵ Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: ⁶ Who, being in the form of God, did not count it robbery to be equal with God: ⁷ But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Himself the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: ⁸ And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient to death, even the death of the cross.

⁶ who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

¹⁴ who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify to Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

¹⁰ For it suited Him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

⁸ though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered;

¹⁸ Consider that as you know you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; ¹⁹ but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

²⁴ Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live on to righteousness: By whose stripes you were healed.

¹⁸ For Christ also has suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive by the Spirit:

² And He is the propitiation for our sins: And not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

⁵ and from Jesus Christ, Who is the faithful Witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. To Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood,

⁸ And when He had taken the book, the four beasts and twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, every one of them having harps, and golden vials full of incense, which are the prayers of saints. ⁹ And they sang a new song, saying, "You are worthy to take the book, and to open its seals: For You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation;

²⁷ And when Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying, and saying, "You, Son of David, have mercy on us." ²⁸ And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him: And Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord." ²⁹ Then He touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith be it done to you." ³⁰ And their eyes were opened; and Jesus strictly charged them, saying, "See that no man knows it." ³¹ But when they were departed, they spread abroad His fame in all that country.

⁴⁶ And they came to Jericho: Then as He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a large number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the side of the highway begging. ⁴⁷ And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me." ⁴⁸ And many charged him that he should hold his peace: But he cried out a great deal more, "Son of David, have mercy on me." ⁴⁹ Then Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they called the blind man, saying to him, "Be of good comfort, rise; He calls for you." ⁵⁰ And casting away his garment, he rose, and came to Jesus. ⁵¹ And Jesus answered and said to him, "What do you will that I should do to you?" The blind man said to Him, "Lord, that I may receive my sight." ⁵² Then Jesus said to him, "Go your way; your faith has made you whole." And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus on the road.

³⁵ Now it came to pass, that as He was coming near Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the roadside begging: ³⁶ And hearing the multitude passing by, he asked what it meant. ³⁷ And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. ³⁸ Then he cried out, saying, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me." ³⁹ And those who went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: But he cried out all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me." ⁴⁰ Now Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be brought to Him: And when he had come near, He asked him, ⁴¹ saying, "What is your will that I should do to you?" And he said, "Lord, that I may receive my sight." ⁴² Then Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight: Your faith has saved you." ⁴³ And immediately he received his sight, and followed Him, glorifying God: And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.

⁸ The LORD opens the eyes of the blind: The LORD raises those who are bowed down: The LORD loves the righteous:

¹⁸ And in that day the deaf shall hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.

⁵ Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. ⁶ Then the lame man shall leap as a stag, and the tongue of the mute sing: For in the wilderness waters shall break out, and streams in the desert.

¹⁶ And I will bring the blind by a way that they did not know; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness become light before them, and crooked things straight. I will do these things to them, and not forsake them.

¹⁸ Hear, you deaf; and look, you blind, that you may see.

¹⁰ We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: We stumble at noon day as in the night; we are in desolate places like dead men.

¹ The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings to the meek; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; ² to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn;

²² Then someone was brought to Him who was possessed with a devil, blind, and mute; and He healed him, so that the blind and mute both spoke and saw. ²³ And all the people were amazed, and said, "Is this not the Son of David?"

²² And behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same borders, and cried to Him, saying, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil."

⁹ And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried out, saying: "Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest."

¹⁴ Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple; and He healed them.

⁴² saying, "What do you think of Christ? Whose Son is He?" They said to Him, "The Son of David."

¹⁸ "The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are bruised,

²¹ And in that same hour He cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and from evil spirits; and to many that were blind He gave sight.

¹ Then as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from his birth. ² And His disciples asked Him, saying, "Master, who sinned, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?" ³ Jesus answered, "Neither this man sinned, nor his parents; but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. ⁴ I must work the works of Him that sent Me, while it is day: The night is coming, when no man can work. ⁵ As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world." ⁶ When He had spoken in this manner, He spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay; ⁷ and said to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam" (which by interpretation is, Sent). Therefore he went his way, washed, and came back seeing. ⁸ Therefore the neighbors, and those who had previously seen him, that he was blind, said, "Is not this he who sat and begged?" ⁹ Some said, "This is he": Others said, "He is like him": But he said, "I am he." ¹⁰ Therefore they said to him, "How were your eyes opened?" ¹¹ He answered and said, "A Man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed my eyes, and said to me, 'Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash': And I went and washed, and I received sight." ¹² Then they said to him, "Where is He?" He said, "I do not know."

³⁰ Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, after the flesh, He would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

³ concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; ⁴ and declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

²⁵ And when he saw that he did not prevail against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. ²⁶ And he said, "Let me go, for the day breaks." And he said, "I will not let you go, unless you bless me." ²⁷ And he said to him, "What is your name?" And he said, "Jacob." ²⁸ And he said, "Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel: For as a prince you have power with God and with men, and have prevailed."Israel; that is, A prince of God ²⁹ And Jacob asked him, and said, "Tell me, I implore you, your name." And he said, "Why is it that you ask after my name?" And he blessed him there.

⁷ Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you: ⁸ For everyone that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.

²³ But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and implored Him, saying, "Send her away; for she cries out after us."

¹³ Then little children were brought to Him, that He should put His hands on them, and pray: And the disciples rebuked them.

⁸ I say to you, Though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his pressing requests he will rise and give him as much as he needs. ⁹ So I say to you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you. ¹⁰ For everyone that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.

¹ Moreover He spoke a parable to them leading to this end, that men always ought to pray, and not to faint; ² saying, "There was a judge in a city, who did not fear God, nor regarded man: ³ And there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, 'Avenge me from my adversary.' ⁴ And he would not for a while: But afterward he said within himself, 'Though I do not fear God, nor regard man; ⁵ yet because this widow troubles me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.' " ⁶ And the Lord said, "Hear what the unjust judge said. ⁷ And shall not God avenge His own elect, who cry day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? ⁸ I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, shall He find faith on the earth?"

³⁹ And those who went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: But he cried out all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me."

² Continue in prayer, and watch for the same with thanksgiving;

¹⁷ Pray without ceasing.

³⁷ Thus says the Lord GOD; "For this I will yet be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.

²¹ And He said to her, "What do you desire?" She said to Him, "Grant that these two sons of mine may sit, the one on Your right hand, and the other on the left, in Your kingdom."

²⁹ Therefore I came to you without opposition, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what reason have you sent for me?"

⁶ Do not be full of care for anything; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

¹⁸ You open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of Your law.

¹⁷ that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him: ¹⁸ The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, and what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, ¹⁹ and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power,

⁶⁷ Before I was afflicted I went astray: But now I have kept Your word.

⁷¹ It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn Your statutes.

⁸ The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.

¹⁵ So He touched her hand, and the fever left her: And she arose, and ministered to them.

²⁹ Then He touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith be it done to you."

³⁶ But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they fainted, and were scattered widely, as sheep having no shepherd.

¹⁴ And Jesus went forth, and saw a large crowd, and was moved with compassion toward them, and He healed their sick.

³² Then Jesus called His disciples to Himself, and said, "I have compassion on the multitude, because they have continued with Me for three days now, and have nothing to eat: And I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint on the road."

³³ And He took him aside from the multitude, and put His fingers into his ears, and He spat and touched his tongue;

¹³ And when the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her, and said to her, "Do not weep."

⁴³ And immediately he received his sight, and followed Him, glorifying God: And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.

⁵¹ And Jesus answered and said, "Allow thus far." And He touched his ear, and healed him.

⁶ When He had spoken in this manner, He spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay; ⁷ and said to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam" (which by interpretation is, Sent). Therefore he went his way, washed, and came back seeing.

³³ Therefore, when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her also weeping, He groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, ³⁴ and said, "Where have you laid him?" They said to Him, "Lord, come and see." ³⁵ Jesus wept.

¹⁸ to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith that is in Me.'

¹⁷ Therefore, in all things it behoved him to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

¹⁵ For we do not have a High Priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. ¹⁶ Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

⁸ Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion toward one another, love as brethren, be tender-hearted, be courteous:
