⁵ And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead?

¹⁷ So he came near where I stood: And when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: But he said to me, "Understand, O son of man: For at the time of the end shall be the vision." ¹⁸ Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: But he touched me, and set me upright.

⁷ And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision: For the men who were with me did not see the vision; but a great trembling fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves. ⁸ Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: For my becoming manner was turned into corruption in me, and I retained no strength. ⁹ Yet I heard the voice of his words: And when I heard the voice of his words, then I was in a deep sleep on my face, and my face was toward the ground. ¹⁰ And behold, a hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands. ¹¹ And he said to me, "O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright: For to you I am now sent." And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood up trembling. ¹² Then he said to me, "Do not fear, Daniel: For from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to chasten yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come because of your words.

¹⁶ And behold, one resembling the likeness of the sons of men touched my lips: Then I opened my mouth, and spoke, and said to him that stood before me, "O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.

¹⁹ and said, "O man greatly beloved, do not fear: Peace be to you, be strong, yes, be strong." And when he had spoken to me, I was strengthened, and said, "Let my lord speak; for you have strengthened me."

³ His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: ⁴ And the keepers shook in fear of him, and became as dead men. ⁵ And the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not fear: For I know that you seek Jesus, which was crucified.

⁵ And entering into the sepulcher, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were frightened. ⁶ Moreover he said to them, "Do not be affrightened: You seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: He is risen; He is not here: Behold the place where they laid Him.

¹² And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him. ¹³ But the angel said to him, "Do not fear, Zacharias: For your prayer is heard; and your wife Elisabeth shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.
