² and the LORD said to Moses, "Speak to Aaron your brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within the veil before the mercy seat, which is on the ark; that he die not: For I will appear in the cloud on the mercy seat. ³ Thus shall Aaron come into the holy place: With a young bull for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering. ⁴ He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen breeches on his flesh, and shall be girded with a linen girdle, and with the linen turban shall he be attired: These are holy garments; therefore shall he wash his flesh in water, and so put them on. ⁵ And he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel two kids of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering. ⁶ And Aaron shall offer his bull of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make an atonement for himself, and for his house. ⁷ And he shall take the two goats, and present them before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. ⁸ And Aaron shall cast lots on the two goats; one lot for the LORD, and the other lot for the scapegoat. ⁹ And Aaron shall bring the goat on which the LORD's lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering. ¹⁰ But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness. ¹¹ And Aaron shall bring the bull of the sin offering, which is for himself, and shall make an atonement for himself, and for his house, and shall kill the bull of the sin offering which is for himself: ¹² And he shall take a censer full of burning coals of fire from off the altar before the LORD, and his hands full of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the veil: ¹³ And he shall put the incense on the fire before the LORD, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the testimony, that he die not: ¹⁴ And he shall take of the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it with his finger on the mercy seat eastward; and before the mercy seat shall he sprinkle of the blood with his finger seven times. ¹⁵ Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the veil, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it on the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat: ¹⁶ And he shall make an atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins: And so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that remains among them in the middle of their uncleanness. ¹⁷ And there shall be no man in the tabernacle of the congregation when he goes in to make an atonement in the holy place, until he come out, and have made an atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the congregation of Israel. ¹⁸ And he shall go out to the altar that is before the LORD, and make an atonement for it; and shall take of the blood of the bull, and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar all around. ¹⁹ And he shall sprinkle of the blood on it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and hallow it from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.

⁸ And the LORD said to Moses, "Make you a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole: And it shall come to pass, that everyone that is bitten, when he looks on it, shall live.

²⁵ And the congregation shall deliver the slayer out of the hand of the revenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to the city of his refuge, where he had fled: And he shall abide in it to the death of the high priest, which was anointed with the holy oil.

¹⁵ The LORD your God will raise up to you a Prophet from the midst of you, of your brothers, similar to me; to him you shall listen; ¹⁶ according to all that you desired of the LORD your God in Horeb on the day of the assembly, saying, "Let me not hear the voice of the LORD my God again, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. ¹⁷ And the LORD said to me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken. ¹⁸ I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brothers, like to you, and will put My words in his mouth; and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him. ¹⁹ And it shall come to pass, that whoever will not listen to My words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

¹ Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? ² The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against His anointed, saying, ³ "Let us break their bands apart, and cast away their cords from us." ⁴ He that sits in the heavens shall laugh: The LORD shall have them in derision. ⁵ Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and vex them in His sore displeasure. ⁶ "Yet I have set My king upon My holy hill of Zion." ⁷ "I will declare the decree: The LORD has said to Me, 'You are My Son; this day I have begotten You. ⁸ Ask of Me, and I shall give You the heathen for Your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for Your possession. ⁹ You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.' " ¹⁰ Be wise now therefore, O you kings: Be instructed, you judges of the earth. ¹¹ Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. ¹² Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and all you perish from pursuing the way, when His wrath is kindled only a little. Blessed are all those that put their trust in Him.

⁹ Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices: My flesh also shall rest in hope. ¹⁰ For You will not leave my soul in hell; neither will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. ¹¹ You will show me the path of life: In Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.

¹ A Psalm for Solomon. ¹ A Psalm of David. The LORD said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, until I make Your enemies Your footstool." ² The LORD shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion to: "Rule in the midst of Your enemies." ³ Your people shall be willing in the day of Your power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: You have the dew of Your youth. ⁴ The LORD has sworn, and will not repent, "You are a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek." ⁵ The LORD at Your right hand shall strike through kings in the day of His wrath. ⁶ He shall judge among the heathen, He shall fill the places with the dead bodies; He shall wound the heads over many countries. ⁷ He shall drink of the brook in the pathway: Therefore He shall lift up the head.

⁶ For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given: And the government shall be upon His shoulder: And His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

¹⁶ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: He that believes shall not make haste.

¹ "Comfort all of you, comfort my people", said your God. ² "Speak comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry to her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: For she has received from the LORD's hand double for all her sins." ³ The voice of him that cries in the wilderness, "All of you prepare the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. ⁴ Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: And the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places smooth: ⁵ And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: For the mouth of the LORD has spoken it." ⁶ The voice said, "Cry." And he said, "What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all its goodliness is as the flower of the field: ⁷ The grass withers, the flower fades: Because the Spirit of the LORD blows upon it: Surely the people are grass. ⁸ The grass withers, the flower fades: But the word of our God shall stand forever." ⁹ O Zion, that brings good tidings, get up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that brings good tidings, lift up your voice with strength; lift it up, do not be afraid; say to the cities of Judah, "Behold your God!" ¹⁰ Behold, the Lord GOD will come with a strong hand, and His arm shall rule for Him: Behold, His reward is with Him, and His work before Him. ¹¹ He shall feed His flock like a shepherd: He shall gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

¹ Behold My servant, whom I uphold; My elect, in whom My soul delights; I have put My spirit on Him: He shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. ² He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause His voice to be heard in the street. ³ A bruised reed He shall not break, and the smoking flax He shall not quench: He shall bring forth judgment to truth. ⁴ He shall not fail nor be discouraged, until He has set judgment in the earth: And the isles shall wait for His law.

¹ "Listen to Me, O isles; and listen, all you people from afar; The LORD has called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother He has made mention of my name. ² And He has made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of His hand He has hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in His quiver He has hid me; ³ and said to me, 'You are My servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.' ⁴ Then I said, 'I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing, and in vain: Yet surely my judgment is with the LORD, and my work with my God.' " ⁵ "And now", says the LORD that formed me from the womb to be His servant, to bring Jacob again to Him, Though Israel is not gathered, yet I shall be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength. ⁶ And He said, 'It is a light thing that You should be My servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give You for a light to the Gentiles, that You may be My salvation to the end of the earth.' " ⁷ Thus says the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and His Holy One, to Him whom man despises, to Him whom the nation abhors, to a Servant of rulers, "Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD who is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and He shall choose You." ⁸ Thus says the LORD, "In an acceptable time I have heard You, and in a day of salvation I have helped You: And I will preserve You, and give You for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;

² Why, when I came, was there no man? When I called, was there none to answer? Is My hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Behold, at My rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: Their fish stinks, because there is no water, and die for thirst. ³ I clothe heaven with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering. ⁴ The Lord GOD has given Me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary: He wakens morning by morning, He wakens my ear to hear as the learned. ⁵ The Lord GOD has opened My ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back. ⁶ I gave My back to the smiters, and My cheeks to those who plucked off the hair: I did not hide My face from shame and spitting.

¹³ Behold, My servant shall deal prudently, He shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.

¹ The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings to the meek; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; ² to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; ³ to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give to them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He might be glorified.

⁵ "Behold, the days come", said the LORD, "that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.

¹⁴ 'Behold, the days come', said the LORD, 'that I will perform that good thing which I have promised to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.

²² Thus says the Lord GOD; "I will also take of the highest branch of the high cedar, and will set it; I will crop off from the top of his young twigs a tender one, and will plant it on a high and eminent mountain:

²³ And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even My servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.

⁴⁴ And in the days of these kings the God of heaven shall set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: And the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

¹³ I saw in the night visions, and behold, One like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of Days, and they brought Him near before Him.

²⁴ Seventy weeks are determined upon your people and upon your holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy. ²⁵ Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem to the Messiah the Prince, shall be seven weeks, and sixty-two weeks: The street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. ²⁶ And after sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself: And the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end of it shall be with a flood, and until the end of the war desolations are determined. ²⁷ And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: And in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that which is determined shall be poured upon the desolate."

⁷ But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the LORD their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen." ⁸ Now when she had weaned Loruhamah, she conceived, and bore a son. ⁹ Then God said, "Call his name Loammi: For you are not My people, and I will not be your God. ¹⁰ Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said to them, 'You are not My people', there it shall be said to them, 'You are the sons of the living God.' ¹¹ Then the children of Judah and the children of Israel shall be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: For great shall be the day of Jezreel."

⁵ Afterward the children of Israel shall return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and His goodness in the latter days.

²⁸ And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: ²⁹ And I will also pour out My spirit upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days. ³⁰ And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. ³¹ The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD comes. ³² And it shall come to pass, that whoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD has said, "and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call."

¹¹ In that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David that has fallen, and close up its breaches; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:

¹ Now gather yourself in troops, O daughter of troops: He has laid siege against us: They shall smite the judge of Israel upon the cheek with a rod. ² "But you, Bethlehem Ephratah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you He shall come forth to Me that is to be Ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting." ³ Therefore He will give them up, until the time that she which travails has brought forth: Then the remnant of His brethren shall return to the children of Israel. ⁴ And He shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD His God; and they shall abide: For now He shall be great to the ends of the earth.

⁷ and I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: And I will fill this house with glory', says the LORD of hosts. ⁸ 'The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine', says the LORD of hosts. ⁹ 'The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former', says the LORD of hosts: 'And in this place I will give peace', says the LORD of hosts."

¹² and speak to him, saying, 'Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, saying, "Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and He shall grow up out of His place, and He shall build the temple of the LORD:

⁹ Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: Behold, your King comes to you: He is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon a donkey, and upon a colt, the foal of a donkey.

⁸ I also cut off three shepherds in one month; and my soul loathed them, and their soul also abhorred me. ⁹ Then I said, "I will not feed you: That which dies, let it die; and that which is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat, everyone, the flesh of another." ¹⁰ And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it apart, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people. ¹¹ And it was broken in that day: And so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the LORD. ¹² And I said to them, "If you all think it is good, give me my price; and if not, forbear." So they weighed my price, thirty pieces of silver. ¹³ And the LORD said to me, "Cast it to the potter": A goodly price which I was appraised at by them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD.

¹⁰ And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: And they shall look upon Me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for Him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

⁷ "Awake, O sword, against My shepherd, and against the man that is My fellow", says the LORD of hosts: "Smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: And I will turn My hand upon the little ones.

⁴ And His feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall split in the middle of it toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall move toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

¹ "Behold, I will send My messenger, and he shall prepare the way before Me: And the Lord, Whom all of you seek, shall suddenly come to His temple, even the Messenger of the covenant, Whom you all delight in: Behold, He shall come", says the LORD of hosts. ² "But who may abide the day of His coming? And who shall stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap: ³ And He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: And He shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer to the LORD an offering in righteousness.

² But to you that fear My name, the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; and you all shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. ³ And all of you shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this", says the LORD of hosts. ⁴ "Remember the law of Moses My servant, all of you, which I commanded to him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. ⁵ Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: ⁶ And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse."

²¹ From that time forward Jesus began to show to His disciples how He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised again the third day.

²² And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man shall be betrayed into the hands of men: ²³ And they shall kill Him, and the third day He shall be raised again." And they were exceedingly sorrowful.

¹⁸ "Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man shall be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes, and they shall condemn Him to death, ¹⁹ and shall deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify Him: And the third day He shall rise again."

⁵⁴ But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen in this manner?"

⁵⁶ But all this was done that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled." Then all the disciples forsook Him, and fled.

³¹ And He began to teach them, that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, and by the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. ³² And He spoke that insight openly. Then Peter took Him, and began to rebuke Him.

³¹ For He taught His disciples, and said to them, "The Son of Man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill Him; then after He is killed, He shall rise the third day."

³³ saying, "Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man shall be delivered to the chief priests, and to the scribes; and they shall condemn Him to death, and shall deliver Him to the Gentiles: ³⁴ And they shall mock Him, and shall scourge Him, and shall spit upon Him, and shall kill Him: And the third day He shall rise again."

²² saying, "The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day."

⁴⁴ "Let these sayings sink down into your ears: For the Son of Man shall be delivered into the hands of men."

³¹ Then He took the twelve to Himself, and said to them, "Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of Man shall be accomplished. ³² For He shall be delivered to the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully treated, and spit on: ³³ Then they shall scourge Him, and put Him to death: And the third day He shall rise again." ³⁴ Yet they understood none of these things: And this saying was hid from them, neither did they know the things which were spoken.

²² Because these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

³⁷ For I say to you, That this which is written must still be accomplished in Me, 'And He was counted among the transgressors': For the things concerning Me have an end."

⁶ He is not here, but is risen: Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, ⁷ saying, 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.' "

²⁶ Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into His glory?" ²⁷ And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, He expounded to them in all the scriptures the things concerning Himself.

⁴⁶ and He said to them, "Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

¹⁴ And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up:

³⁹ Search the scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal life: And these are they which testify of Me.

⁴⁶ For had you believed Moses, you would have believed Me: For he wrote of Me.

⁴ But these things I have told you, that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you of them. And these things I did not say to you at the beginning, because I was with you. ⁵ But now I go My way to Him that sent Me; and none of you asks Me, 'Where are You going?'

¹⁶ A little while, and you shall not see Me: And again, a little while, and you shall see Me, because I go to the Father." ¹⁷ Then some of His disciples said among themselves, "What is this that He says to us, 'A little while, and you shall not see Me: And again, a little while, and you shall see Me'; and, 'because I go to the Father'?"

¹¹ And now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your own name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one, as We are. ¹² While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name: Those whom You gave Me I have kept, and none of them is lost, except the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. ¹³ And now I come to You; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have My joy fulfilled in themselves.

²⁴ Therefore they said among themselves, "Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be": That the scripture might be fulfilled, which says, "They divided My clothes among them, and for My vesture they cast lots." Therefore the soldiers did these things. ²⁵ Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. ²⁶ Therefore, when Jesus saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, "Woman, behold your son!" ²⁷ Then He said to the disciple, "Behold your mother!" And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home. ²⁸ After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, said, "I thirst." ²⁹ Now a vessel full of vinegar was set there: And they filled a sponge with vinegar, put it upon hyssop, and put it to His mouth. ³⁰ When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, He said, "It is finished": Then He bowed His head, and gave up the ghost. ³¹ The Jews therefore, because it was the Preparation, that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath day, (for that Sabbath was a high day), implored Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. ³² Then the soldiers came, and broke the legs of the first, and of the other which were crucified with Him. ³³ But when they came to Jesus, and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs: ³⁴ But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. ³⁵ And he that saw it bares record, and his record is true: And he knows that he speaks truly, that you might believe. ³⁶ For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, "A bone of Him shall not be broken." ³⁷ And again another scripture says, "They shall look on Him whom they pierced."

¹⁸ But those things, which God foretold by the mouth of all His prophets, that Christ should suffer, He has thus fulfilled.

²² For Moses truly said to the fathers, 'The LORD your God shall raise up to you a Prophet similar to me from your brethren; you shall hear Him in all things, whatever He shall say to you. ²³ And it shall come to pass, that every soul who will not hear that Prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.' ²⁴ Yes, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that followed after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

³⁷ "This is that Moses who said to the children of Israel, 'The LORD your God shall raise up to you a Prophet from your brethren, similar to me: Him you shall hear.'

²⁹ And when they had fulfilled all that was written about Him, they took Him down from the tree, and laid Him in a sepulchre. ³⁰ But God raised Him from the dead: ³¹ And He was seen for many days by those that came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are His witnesses to the people.

³³ God has fulfilled the same for us their children, in that He has raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second Psalm, 'You are My Son, this day I have begotten You.'

² And Paul, as his custom was, went in to them, and for three Sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, ³ revealing and alleging that it was necessary for Christ to have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that, "This Jesus, whom I preach to you, is Christ."

³ For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received, how Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; ⁴ and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

⁵ And Moses truly was faithful in all His house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken afterwards;

¹ For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;

⁸ The Holy Spirit signifying this, that the way into the Holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while the first tabernacle was still standing:

¹ For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make those that come near perfect.

¹¹ Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them signified, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

¹⁰ And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said to me, "See that you do not do it: I am your fellow-servant, and of your brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: Worship God: For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
