³¹ And Israel served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, and which had known all the works of the LORD, that he had done for Israel.

² And know you this day: For I speak not with your children which have not known, and which have not seen the chastisement of the LORD your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his outstretched arm,

⁷ But your eyes have seen all the great acts of the LORD which he did.

¹³ And that their children, which have not known anything, may hear, and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as you live in the land where you go over the Jordan to possess it.

²⁹ For I know that after my death you will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because you will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.

⁷ And the people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the LORD, that he did for Israel.

² And Joash did that which was right in the sight of the LORD all the days of Jehoiada the priest.

¹⁷ Now after the death of Jehoiada came the princes of Judah, and made obeisance to the king. Then the king listened to them. ¹⁸ And they left the house of the LORD God of their fathers, and served groves and idols: And wrath came on Judah and Jerusalem for this their trespass.

²⁹ For I know this, that after my departure grievous wolves shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

¹² Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
