²⁰ If you forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he has done you good.

¹² Else if you do in any wise go back, and join to the remnant of these nations, even these that remain among you, and shall make marriages with them, and go in to them, and they to you: ¹³ Know for a certainty that the LORD your God will no more drive out any of these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps to you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from off this good land which the LORD your God has given you. ¹⁴ And behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: And you know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing has failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spoke concerning you; all have come to pass to you, and not one thing has failed of it. ¹⁵ Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all good things are come on you, which the LORD your God promised you; so shall the LORD bring on you all evil things, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which the LORD your God has given you.

⁹ And you, Solomon my son, know you the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: For the LORD searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts: If you seek him, he will be found of you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.

² And he went out to meet Asa, and said to him, "Hear you me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while you be with him; and if you seek him, he will be found of you; but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.

²² For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: Because we had spoken to the king, saying, "The hand of our God is on all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all those that forsake him.

²⁸ And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and those that forsake the LORD shall be consumed.

¹⁰ But they rebelled, and vexed His holy Spirit: Therefore He was turned to be their enemy, and He fought against them.

¹¹ But you are those who forsake the LORD, who forget My holy mountain, who prepare a table for that troop, and who furnish the drink offering to that number. ¹² Therefore I will number you to the sword, and you shall all bow down to the slaughter: Because when I called, you did not answer; when I spoke, you did not hear; but did evil before My eyes, and chose that in which I do not delight."

¹³ O LORD, the hope of Israel, all who forsake you shall be ashamed, and they who depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.

²⁴ But when the righteous turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All his righteousness that he has done shall not be mentioned: In his trespass that he has trespassed, and in his sin that he has sinned, in them he shall die.

⁴² Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, 'O house of Israel, have you offered to Me slain beasts and sacrifices for a period of forty years in the wilderness?

²⁶ For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins, ²⁷ but a certain fearful expectation of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

³⁸ Now the just shall live by faith: But if any man draws back, My soul shall have no pleasure in him."
