⁶ Therefore turn to your God: Keep mercy and judgment, and wait on your God continually.

¹⁸ I have waited for Your salvation, O LORD.

¹⁴ Wait on the LORD: Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart: Wait, I say, "on the LORD.

⁷ Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him: Do not fret yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.

² Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden to the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until He has mercy upon us.

⁵ I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, and in His word do I hope. ⁶ My soul waits for the Lord more than those that watch for the morning: I say, "more than those that watch for the morning. ⁷ Let Israel hope in the LORD: For with the LORD there is mercy, and with Him is plentiful redemption.

²³ Turn at my reproof: Behold, I will pour out my spirit to you, I will make my words known to you.

³ To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

¹⁶ Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes; cease to do evil;

¹⁷ And I will wait upon the LORD, who hides His face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for Him.

¹⁸ And therefore the LORD will wait, that He may be gracious to you, and therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you: For the LORD is a God of judgment: Blessed are all those that wait for Him.

⁶ Turn to Him against whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.

³¹ But those who wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.

⁶ All of you seek the LORD while He may be found, call on Him while He is near: ⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: And let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.

⁶ Is not this the fast that I have chosen? To loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?

¹⁴ 'Turn, O backsliding children', said the LORD; 'for I am married to you: And I will take one of you from a city, and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion: ¹⁵ And I will give you pastors according to My heart, who shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. ¹⁶ And it shall come to pass, when you are multiplied and increased in the land, in those days', said the LORD, 'they shall say no more, "The ark of the covenant of the LORD": Neither shall it come to mind: Neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more. ¹⁷ At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: Neither shall they walk after the imagination of their evil heart any more. ¹⁸ In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance to your fathers. ¹⁹ But I said, "How shall I put you among the children, and give you a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations?" and I said, "You shall call Me, my Father; and shall not turn away from Me." ²⁰ Surely as a wife treacherously departs from her husband, so have you dealt treacherously with Me, O house of Israel', said the LORD. ²¹ A voice was heard on the high places, weeping and supplications of the children of Israel: For they have perverted their way, and they have forgotten the LORD their God. ²² Return, you backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come to you; for you are the LORD our God."

¹⁵ Shall you reign, because you close yourself in cedar? Did not your father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, and then it was well with him?

²⁵ The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. ²⁶ It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

³⁹ Why does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins? ⁴⁰ Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD. ⁴¹ Let us lift up our heart with our hands to God in heaven.

¹ Hear the word of the LORD, you children of Israel: For the LORD has a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.

¹ Come, and let us return to the LORD: For He has torn, and He will heal us; He has smitten, and He will bind us up. ² After two days He will revive us: On the third day He will raise us up, and we shall live in His sight. ³ Then we shall know, if we follow on pursuing to know the LORD: His going forth is prepared like the morning; and He shall come to us as the rain, as the latter and former rain to the earth.

¹² Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: For it is time to seek the LORD, until He comes and rains righteousness upon you.

¹ O Israel, return to the LORD your God; for you have fallen by your iniquity.

¹³ And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn to the LORD your God: For He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and it repents Him concerning the evil.

²⁴ But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.

⁸ He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

⁷ Therefore I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: My God will hear me.

³ For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: Though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

⁸ Therefore wait upon Me", says the LORD, "until the day that I rise up to the prey: For My determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them My indignation, even all My fierce anger: For all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of My jealousy.

³ Therefore say you to them, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts; "Turn to Me", says the LORD of hosts, "and I will turn to you", says the LORD of hosts.

⁹ "Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, saying, 'Execute true judgment, and show mercy and compassions, every man to his brother:

¹⁶ These are the things that you all shall do; Speak the truth, every man, to his neighbor; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:

³⁸ Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

²⁰ But brought word first to those of Damascus, and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works worthy for repentance.

²⁷ Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

¹³ For he that has shown no mercy shall have judgment without mercy; and mercy rejoices against judgment.
