¹¹ Then set it empty on its coals, that the brass of it may be hot, and may burn, and that the filthiness of it may be molten in it, that the scum of it may be consumed.

²⁵ And I will turn My hand upon you, and purely purge away your dross, and take away all your tin:

⁴ When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst of it by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.

⁹ By this therefore the iniquity of Jacob shall be purged; and this is all the fruit of taking away his sin; when he makes all the stones of the altar as chalkstones that are beaten to pieces, the wooden pillars and images shall not stand up.

¹⁰ For I have set My face against this city for evil, and not for good", said the LORD: "it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire." '

²⁹ And the Chaldeans, who fight against this city, shall come and set fire upon this city, and burn it with the houses, on whose roofs they have offered incense to Baal, and poured out drink offerings to other gods, to provoke Me to anger.

¹⁰ For though you had smitten the whole army of the Chaldeans who fight against you, and there remained but wounded men among them, yet they should rise up every man in his tent, and burn this city with fire.

¹⁸ But if you will not go forth to the king of Babylon's princes, then this city shall be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they shall burn it with fire, and you shall not escape out of their hand.' "

⁸ And the Chaldeans burned the king's house, and the houses of the people, with fire, and broke down the walls of Jerusalem.

¹³ and burned the house of the LORD, and the king's house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, and all the houses of the great men, he burned with fire:

³⁸ And I will purge out the rebels from among you, and those who transgress against Me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: And you shall know that I am the LORD.

¹⁵ And I will scatter you among the heathen, and disperse you in the countries, and will consume your filthiness out of you. ¹⁶ And you shall take your inheritance in yourself in the sight of the heathen, and you shall know that I am the LORD." ' " ¹⁷ And the word of the LORD came to me, saying, ¹⁸ "Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to Me: They are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are even the dross of silver." ¹⁹ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; "Because you have all become dross, behold, therefore I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. ²⁰ As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the middle of the furnace, to blow the fire on it, to melt it; so will I gather you in My anger and in My fury, and I will leave you there, and melt you. ²¹ Yes, I will gather you, and blow on you in the fire of My wrath, and you shall be melted in the midst of it. ²² As silver is melted in the middle of the furnace, so you shall be melted in the midst of it; and you shall know that I the LORD have poured out My fury on you.' " ²³ And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

²⁶ They shall also strip you out of your clothes, and take away your fair jewels. ²⁷ Thus I will make your lewdness to cease from you, and your whoredom brought from the land of Egypt: So that you shall not lift up your eyes to them, nor remember Egypt any more.' "

⁴⁷ And the company shall stone them with stones, and dispatch them with their swords; they shall slay their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses with fire. ⁴⁸ Thus I will cause lewdness to cease out of the land, that all women may be taught not to do after your lewdness.

²⁵ Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean: I will cleanse you from all your filthiness, and from all your idols.

¹¹ And I will cut off the cities of your land, and throw down all your strongholds: ¹² And I will cut off witchcrafts out of your hand; and you shall have no more soothsayers: ¹³ I will also cut off your graven images, and your standing images out of the midst of you; and you shall not worship the work of your hands any more.standing images; or, statues ¹⁴ And I will pluck up your groves out of the midst of you: In like manner I will destroy your cities.

¹ "In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness. ² And it shall come to pass in that day", says the LORD of hosts, "that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no longer be remembered: And I will also cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.

⁸ And it shall come to pass, that in all the land", says the LORD, "two-thirds in it shall be cut off and die; but one-third shall be left in the land. ⁹ And I will bring the one-third through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will prove them through testing as gold is proved: They shall call on My name, and I will hear them: I will say, 'It is My people': And they shall say, 'The LORD is my God.' "

¹ "For behold, the day comes, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yes, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: And the day that comes shall burn them up", says the LORD of hosts, "that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

¹² Whose fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly purge His floor, and gather His wheat into the granary; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."
