Even I it is that have sinned and done evil indeed; but as for these sheep, what have they done? Let your hand, I implore you, O LORD my God, be on me, and on my father's house; but not on your people, that they should be plagued.

²⁰ I have sinned; what shall I do to you, O you preserver of men? Why have you set me as a mark against you, so that I am a burden to myself?

⁶ For which reason I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.

¹¹ You have given us like sheep that are appointed for meat; and have scattered us among the heathen.

² Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. ³ For I acknowledge my transgressions: And my sin is ever before me. ⁴ Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done this evil in your sight: That You might be justified when You speak, and be clear when You judge. ⁵ Behold, I was shaped in iniquity; and in sin my mother conceived me.

²³ And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even My servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. ²⁴ And I the LORD will be their God, and My servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it.

⁷ "Awake, O sword, against My shepherd, and against the man that is My fellow", says the LORD of hosts: "Smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: And I will turn My hand upon the little ones.
