⁹ And it was so, that after they had carried it around, the hand of the LORD was against the city with a very great destruction: And He smote the men of the city, both small and great, and they had hemorrhoids in their secret parts.

¹⁵ For indeed the hand of the LORD was against them, to destroy them from among the host, until they were consumed.

⁶ But the hand of the LORD was heavy upon the people of Ashdod, and He destroyed them, and smote them with hemorrhoids, even Ashdod and its borders.

¹¹ So they sent and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and said, "Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go again to his own place, that it does not slay us, and our people": For there was a deadly destruction throughout all the city: The hand of God was very heavy there.

⁴ Then they said, "What shall be the trespass offering which we shall return to Him?" They answered, "Five golden hemorrhoids, and five golden mice, according to the number of the lords of the Philistines: For one plague was on you all, and on your lords. ⁵ For this reason you shall make images of your hemorrhoids, and images of your mice that mar the land; and you shall give glory to the God of Israel: Perhaps He will lighten His hand from off you, and from off your gods, and from off your land.

¹¹ And they laid the ark of the LORD upon the cart, and the chest with the mice of gold and the images of their hemorrhoids.

¹³ So the Philistines were subdued, and they did not come into the border of Israel any more: And the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.

¹⁵ But if you will not obey the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then the hand of the LORD shall be against you, as it was against your fathers.

⁶⁶ And He smote His enemies in the hinder parts: He put them to a perpetual reproach.

¹⁹ As if a man fled from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.

¹ I saw the Lord standing upon the altar: And He said, "Smite the lintel of the door, that the posts may shake: And cut them in the head, all of them; and I will slay the last of them with the sword: He that flees from them shall not flee away, and he that escapes from them shall not be delivered.cut; or, wound ² Though they dig into hell, there My hand shall take them; though they climb up to heaven, there I will bring them down: ³ And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out from there; and though they hide from My sight in the bottom of the sea, there I will command the serpent, and he shall bite them: ⁴ And though they go into captivity before their enemies, I will command the sword in that place, and it shall slay them: And I will set My eyes upon them for evil, and not for good."
