³ concerning his Son born of the posterity of David as to the flesh,

^{1 (1:1)} AN account of the birth of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

⁶ and Jesse begat David the king. ^(1:2) And David begat Solomon by the wife of Uriah,

¹⁶ and Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, called Christ.

²⁰ But while he was thinking of these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, fear not to take Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is by the Holy Spirit, ²¹ and she shall bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he shall save his people from their sins. ^{22 (1:5)} But all this was done, that the word of the Lord might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying; ²³ Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bear a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel; which is interpreted, God is with us.

¹⁷ And behold, a voice from the heavens, saying, This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.

^{27 (6:11)} And as Jesus was departing thence two blind men followed him, crying and saying, Have mercy on us, Son of David!

²³ And all the multitudes wondered and said, Is this the Son of David?

²² And behold, a woman of Canaan from those regions came out and cried, saying, Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is badly affected with a demon.

⁴² saying, What do you think of the Christ? whose son is he? They said to him, David's. ⁴³ He said to them, How then does David in spirit call him Lord, saying, ⁴⁴ The Lord said to my Lord, Sit on my right hand till I make your enemies your footstool? ⁴⁵ If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?

⁶³ But Jesus was silent. And the chief priest answering, said to him, I adjure you, by the living God, to tell me if you are the Christ, the Son of God.

⁴³ he trusted in God; let him deliver him if he wishes for him; for he said, I am a Son of God.

³¹ And behold you shall be with child, and bear a son, and shall call his name Jesus. ³² He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God shall give him the throne of David his father, ³³ and he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

³⁵ And the angel answered and said to her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow you; and on that account the holy child shall be called the Son of God.

⁶⁹ and raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of David his servant;

⁴ And Joseph went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, ⁵ to be enrolled with Mary his espoused [wife,] who was with child. ⁶ And while they were there the days for her delivery were completed;

^{14 (1:3)} And the Word became flesh and tabernacled with us and we beheld his glory, a glory as of an only child with a father, full of grace and truth.

³⁴ And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered him, Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.

¹⁶ For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that every one believing in him may not perish but have eternal life. ¹⁷ For God sent not his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world through him might be saved. ¹⁸ He that believes in him is not judged; but he that believes not has been judged already; because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

³⁵ The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand. ³⁶ He that believes on the Son has eternal life; but he that disbelieves the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God continues on him.

²⁵ I tell you most truly, that the hour comes, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and those that hear shall live.

⁴² Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the offspring of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?

³⁰ I and the Father are one.

³⁶ do you tell him whom the Father has sanctified and sent into the world, You blaspheme, because I said, I am the Son of God?

²⁸ Thomas answered and said to him, My Lord and my God.

³¹ but these are recorded that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.

³⁰ Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God swore with an oath to him to set a descendant of his on his throne,

¹³ The God of Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified his servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied before Pilate when he decided to release him;

³⁶ And as they went on the way they came to a certain water, and the eunuch said, Behold water; what hinders me from being baptized?

²⁰ and immediately in the synagogues he preached Jesus, that this is the Son of God.

²² and removing him, he raised up for them David for a king, of whom also he said and testified, I have found David, the son of Jesse, a man after my heart, who will do all my will. ^{23 (11:5)} Of the posterity of this man, according to his promise, has God raised up to Israel a Saviour, Jesus;

⁹ For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, how incessantly I make mention of you, always in my prayers

² for the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and death. ³ For what the law could not do because it was weak through the flesh, God having sent his Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned the sin in the flesh,

²⁹ For whom he foreknew, he also predestinated to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he may be a first-born among many brothers; ³⁰ and whom he predestinated them he also called; and whom he called them he also justified; and whom he justified them he also glorified. ^{31 (6:5)} What shall we say then to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? ³² He who spared not his Son, but gave him up for us all, how shall he not also with him freely give us all things?

⁵ whose are the fathers, and of whom is Christ, according to the flesh. He who is over all is God blessed forever, amen.

⁹ God is faithful by whom you are called into the society of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

⁴ but when the fullness of time came, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

¹³ who delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love, ¹⁴ in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins, ¹⁵ who is the likeness of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation,

¹⁰ and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus, who delivers us from the wrath to come.

¹⁶ And confessedly great is the mystery of piety; [Christ,] who was manifested in the flesh, was justified in the spirit, was seen by angels, was preached to the nations, was believed on in the world, was received up into glory.

^{8 (1:6)} Remember Jesus Christ raised from the dead, a descendant of David, according to my gospel,

³ that which we have seen and heard, we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.

⁸ he that commits sin is of the devil, for the devil sinned from the beginning. For this was the Son of God manifested, to destroy the works of the devil.

²³ And this is his commandment; that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another as he gave commandment.

² By this you know the Spirit of God; every spirit which confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, ³ and every spirit which does not confess Jesus is not of God. And this is the [spirit] of anti-christ, of which you have heard that he is coming, and he is now in the world already.

⁹ The love of God was manifested to us in this; that God has sent his only Son into the world that we may live through him. ¹⁰ In this is love; not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son a propitiation for our sins.

¹⁵ Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God continues in him and he in God.

^{1 (2:6)} Every one who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and every one who loves the Father loves also the Son who is born to him.

⁵ Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

¹⁰ He that believes on the Son of God has the testimony in himself; he that believes not God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony which God has testified concerning his Son. ¹¹ And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. ¹² He that has the Son has the life; he that has not the Son has not the life. ^{13 (2:8)} These things have I written to you, that you who believe in the name of the Son of God may know that you have eternal life.

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding that we may know the true One; and we are in the true One, in his Son Jesus Christ; this is the true God, and eternal life.

⁷ For many deceivers have gone out into the world, who do not confess Jesus Christ coming in the flesh; this is the deceiver, and the antichrist.

^{18 (2:4)} And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, These things says the Son of God, he that has his eyes like a flame of fire and his feet like fine brass,
