²⁶ Ought not the Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into his glory?

⁷ saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of wicked men to be crucified, and on the third day rise again.

⁸ thou didst subject all things under his feet. For in subjecting all things to him, he left nothing not subjected to him. But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him. ⁹ But we see Jesus, made a little less than angels, on account of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste death for every [man]. ¹⁰ For it became him, for whom are all things and through whom are all things, to perfect by sufferings the prince of their salvation, bringing many sons to glory.

²² And almost all things, according to the law, are purified with blood, and without the pouring out of blood there is no forgiveness. ^{23 (3:7)} It was necessary, therefore, that the symbols of things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
