³⁹ And the Lord said to him, Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and plate, but your inside is full of plunder and wickedness.

¹⁵ But beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but within they are rapacious wolves.

³³ Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad, and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit. ³⁴ Offspring of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. ³⁵ The good man, out of his good treasury, casts forth good things; and the evil man, out of his evil treasury, casts forth evil things.

¹⁹ For from the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, blasphemies:

²⁵ Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and platter, but within they are full of plunder and excess. ²⁶ Blind Pharisee! cleanse first that which is in the cup and platter, that its outside may be clean also.

¹³ And seeing her, the Lord had compassion on her, and said to her, Weep not.

¹⁵ To the pure all things are pure; but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but their mind and conscience are defiled.

⁸ draw nigh to God and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners, purify your hearts, double-minded.
