⁹ for you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that for your sakes he became poor, though rich, that you by his poverty might be rich.

¹⁸ that you may be able to apprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length, and depth and height, ¹⁹ and to know the love of Christ which exceeds knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

² and walk in love, as Christ also loved us and gave himself for us, an offering and sacrifice to God of good odor.

⁹ But we see Jesus, made a little less than angels, on account of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste death for every [man]. ¹⁰ For it became him, for whom are all things and through whom are all things, to perfect by sufferings the prince of their salvation, bringing many sons to glory. ¹¹ For both he that sanctifies and the sanctified are all of one; for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers, ¹² saying, I will declare thy name to my brothers, in the midst of the assembly will I sing to thee. ¹³ And again, I will trust in him. ²¹ For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you a copy that you should follow his steps,

¹⁶ By this we have known love, because he laid down his life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. ¹⁷ And whoever has the goods of the world and sees his brother have need, and withholds his compassions from him, how continues the love of God in him? ^{18 (1:13)} My little children, let us not love in word nor tongue, but in work and truth.

²³ And this is his commandment; that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another as he gave commandment. ²⁴ And he that keeps his commandments continues in him and he in him; and by this we know that he continues in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.
