⁸ Peter said to him, You shall never by any means wash my feet. He answered him, Unless I wash you you have no part with me.

²² And Peter taking hold of him said, rebuking him, Far be it from you, Lord! This shall not be to you.

²⁹ But he answered and said, I will not; but afterwards he repented, and went.

³³ And Peter answered and said to him, If all men shall be offended with you, I will not.

³⁵ Peter said to him, If it should be necessary for me to die with you, I will by no means deny you. And all the disciples said the same.

⁵ Jesus answered, I tell you most truly, unless a man is born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

¹⁶ And now, why do you delay? Arising, baptize and wash away your sins, calling on his name.

¹¹ And such were some of you; but you are washed, you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

²⁶ that he might sanctify it, purifying it with the washing of water with the word,

¹⁸ Let no one wishing [it] deprive you of your reward by humility and a worship of angels, intruding into what he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his carnal mind,

²³ Which have an appearance of wisdom in voluntary worship and humiliation, and in a rigorous treatment of the body, [which is held] in no respect for the surfeiting of the flesh.

⁵ not by works of righteousness which we did but according to his mercy he saved us through the washing of regeneration and the renewing of the Holy Spirit,

²² And almost all things, according to the law, are purified with blood, and without the pouring out of blood there is no forgiveness. ^{23 (3:7)} It was necessary, therefore, that the symbols of things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

⁴ for it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins. ⁵ Wherefore, coming into the world, he says, A sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire, but a body didst thou prepare me. ⁶ Whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou wast not pleased with; ⁷ then I said, Behold, I come,—in the volume of the book it is written of me,—to do thy will, O God. ⁸ Saying before, Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and [sacrifices] for sin thou didst not desire and wast not pleased with, which are offered according to the law, ⁹ then he said, Behold, I come to do thy will. He takes away the first, that he may establish the second, ¹⁰ by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all.

²² let us approach with a true heart in a full assurance of faith, sprinkled in heart from an evil conscience, and washed in body with pure water,

⁵ and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the first born from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him that loved us and washed us from our sins with his blood,

¹⁴ And I said to him, My Lord, you know. And he said to me, These are those who come out from great affliction, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
