¹³ I write to you, fathers, because you have known him that is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I wrote to you, little children, because you have known the Father.

²⁷ All things are given me by my Father; and no one knows the Son but the Father; and no one knows the Father but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.

¹⁹ When any one hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and takes away the seed sown in his heart. This is he that received seed by the way.

³⁸ the field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; the poisonous darnel are the children of the wicked one;

²² And turning to his disciples, he said, All things are delivered to me by my Father; and no one knows who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is but the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

¹⁹ Then they said to him, Where is your Father? Jesus answered, You have neither known me nor my Father; if you had known me you would also have known my Father.

⁵⁴ Jesus answered, If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing; it is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say, He is our God; ⁵⁵ and you have not known him, but I have known him; and if I should say I do not know him, I should be a liar like you; but I know him and keep his word.

⁷ If you had known me you would have known my Father; and from this time you know him and have seen him.

⁹ Jesus said to him, Have I been so long a time with you and have you not known me, Philip? He that has seen me has seen the Father; and how say you, Show us the Father?

³ And these things they will do, because they have not known the Father nor me.

³ And this is the eternal life; that they shall know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.

²¹ that all may be one, as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us, that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

⁶ For God who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

^{10 (2:9)} Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. ¹¹ Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil; ¹² for our conflict is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the potentates of the darkness of this world, against the spiritual [hosts] of evil in the heavenly [worlds].

¹² not as Cain was of the evil one and killed his brother; and why did he kill him? because his works were evil, and his brother's righteous.

^{4 (2:2)} You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.

⁴ for every child that has been born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory which overcomes the world, our faith. ⁵ Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

^{18 (2:9)} We know that every one who has been born of God does not sin, but he that has been born of God keeps himself, and the evil one does not touch him.

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding that we may know the true One; and we are in the true One, in his Son Jesus Christ; this is the true God, and eternal life.
