⁵ over the Jordan, in the land of Moab, did Moses take in hand to expound this law, saying:––

⁸ Or what great nation which hath righteous statutes and regulations, like all this law, which, I, am setting before you, today?

¹⁸ But it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, then shall he write for himself a copy of this law upon a scroll, out of [that which is] before the priests, the Levites: ¹⁹ so shall it be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life,––that he may learn to revere Yahweh his God, to observe all the words of this law and these statutes to do them:

⁹ And Moses wrote this law, and delivered it unto the priests, the sons of Levi, who were bearing the ark of the covenant of Yahweh,––and unto all the elders of Israel.

⁴⁶ he said unto them––Apply your hearts unto all the words which I am witnessing against you, today,––how that ye must command your sons to observe to do all the words of this law;
