⁵ Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,

²⁹ Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls.

²⁷ For which is superior, he who reclines at table or he who serves? Is not he who reclines? But I am in the midst of you as the one who serves.

¹⁴ If then I, the Master and Teacher, have washed your feet, you too ought to wash one another's feet. ¹⁵ For I have given you an example that you may do as I have done to you.

³⁸ You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were harassed by the Devil, for God was with him.

³⁵ In all things I showed you that so laboring we ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'

¹⁵ If because of your food your brother is grieved, you are no longer walking in love. Do not with your food destroy him for whom Christ died.

³ For Christ did not please himself, but, as it is written, "The reproaches of those who were reproaching thee fell on me."

⁵ May the God of patience and encouragement grant to you to have harmony with one another, in the manner of Christ Jesus,

³³ as I also in all things accommodate myself to all men, not seeking my own interest but that of the many, in order that they may be saved.

² and live in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself for us, an offering and sacrifice to God yielding a fragrant odor.

²¹ For to this you were called, because Christ too suffered for you, leaving you an example that you might follow in his foot-steps.

¹ SINCE, then, Christ suffered in the flesh, you also must arm yourselves with the same mind. For he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,

⁶ He who says that he is abiding in him ought himself to live as he lived.
