¹⁰ Then many will stumble and fall and will betray one another and will hate one another.

²¹ Brother will betray brother to death, and father will betray child, and children will rise up against parents and put them to death.

³⁵ For I came to set a man against his father and a daughter against her mother and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. ³⁶ A man's enemies will be the members of his own household.

¹⁵ You know that all of those in Asia have deserted me. Among them are Phygelus and Hermogenes.

¹⁰ For Demas deserted me because he loved the present world and has gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.

¹⁶ At my first defense no one came to my help; all deserted me. May it not be laid up against them!
