³⁸ so that the word of Isaiah the prophet should be fulfilled. Isaiah said, "Lord, who has believed our report, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?"

⁷ You hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you when he said,

¹⁷ Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood have not revealed it to you, but my Father in heaven.

²⁰ And Isaiah makes bold to say, "I was found by those who were not seeking me: I became manifest to those who were not inquiring for me."

²⁴ but to those who are called, whether Jews or Greeks, Christ, the power of God and the wisdom of God.

¹⁴ but their thinking was dulled. ³ If our good news is veiled, it is veiled to those who are going to ruin, ⁴ in whom the god of this world has blinded the thinking of the unbelieving so that the light of the glorious good news of Christ, who is the image of God, may not shine in. ⁵ For we are not proclaiming ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake. ⁶ Because it is the God who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness," who has shone in our hearts bringing the light of the glorious knowledge of God in the face of Christ.
