³ And when he is sitting on the mount of the Olives, the disciples came near to him by himself, saying, 'Tell us, when shall these be? And what is the sign of thy presence, and of the full end of the age?'

¹⁰ And the disciples having come near, said to him, 'Why in similes do you speak to them?' ¹¹ And he answering said to them that -- 'To you it has been given to know the secrets of the reign of the heavens, and to these it has not been given,

³⁶ Then having let away the multitudes, Jesus came to the house, and his disciples came near to him, saying, 'Explain to us the simile of the darnel of the field.'

³⁹ and the enemy who sowed them is the devil, and the harvest is a full end of the age, and the reapers are messengers. ⁴⁰ 'As, then, the darnel is gathered up, and is burned with fire, so shall it be in the full end of this age,

⁴⁹ so shall it be in the full end of the age, the messengers shall come forth and separate the evil out of the midst of the righteous,

¹² Then his disciples having come near, said to him, 'Have you known that the Pharisees, having heard the word, were stumbled?'

¹⁹ Then the disciples having come to Jesus by himself, said, 'Why were we not able to cast him out?'

¹ And when they came near to Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, unto the mount of the Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,

²⁷ for as the lightning does come forth from the east, and does appear unto the west, so shall be also the presence of the Son of Man;

³² 'And from the fig-tree learn you the simile: When already its branch may have become tender, and the leaves it may put forth, you know that summer is near, ³³ so also you, when you may see all these, you know that it is near -- at the doors.

³⁷ and as the days of Noah -- so shall be also the presence of the Son of Man;

³⁹ and they did not know till the flood came and took all away; so shall be also the presence of the Son of Man.

⁴³ and this know, that if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief does come, he had watched, and not permitted his house to be broken through;

²⁰ teaching them to observe all, whatever I did command you,) and lo, I am with you all the days -- till the full end of the age.'

³ And as he is sitting at the mount of the Olives, across from the temple, Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, were questioning him by himself, ⁴ 'Tell us when these things shall be? and what is the sign when all these may be about to be fulfilled?'

⁷ And they questioned him, saying, 'Teacher, when, then, shall these things be? and what is the sign when these things may be about to happen?'

²¹ Peter having seen this one, said to Jesus, 'Lord, and what of this one?' ²² Jesus said to him, 'If him I will to remain till I come, what -- to you? be you following me.' This word, therefore, went forth to the brethren that that disciple does not die,

⁷ and he said unto them, 'It is not yours to know times or seasons that the Father did appoint in His own authority;

¹ And concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need of my writing to you, ² for yourselves have known thoroughly that the day of the Lord as a thief in the night does so come, ³ for when they may say, Peace and surety, then sudden destruction does stand by them, as the travail does her who is with child, and they shall not escape; ⁴ and you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day may catch you as a thief; ⁵ all you are sons of light, and sons of day; we are not of night, nor of darkness, ⁶ so, then, we may not sleep as also the others, but watch and be sober, ⁷ for those sleeping, by night do sleep, and those making themselves drunk, by night are drunken, ⁸ and we, being of the day -- let us be sober, putting on a breastplate of faith and love, and an helmet -- a hope of salvation, ⁹ because God did not appoint us to anger, but to the acquiring of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, ¹⁰ who did die for us, that whether we wake -- whether we sleep -- together with him we may live; ¹¹ therefore, comfort you one another, and build you up, one the one, as also you do.

²⁶ since it had behoved him many times to suffer from the foundation of the world, but now once, at the full end of the ages, for putting away of sin through his sacrifice, he has been manifested;
