¹¹ Verily I say to you, there has not risen, among those born of women, a greater than John the Baptist, but he who is least in the reign of the heavens is greater than he.

¹¹ 'I indeed do baptize you with water to reformation, but he who after me is coming is mightier than I, of whom I am not worthy to bear the sandals, he shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire,

¹⁹ 'Whoever therefore may loose one of these commands -- the least -- and may teach men so, least he shall be called in the reign of the heavens, but whoever may do and may teach, he shall be called great in the reign of the heavens.

¹⁵ for he shall be great before the Lord, and wine and strong drink he may not drink, and of the Holy Spirit he shall be full, even from his mother's womb;

²⁸ for I say to you, a greater prophet, among those born of women, than John the Baptist there is not; but the least in the reign of God is greater than he.'

⁴⁸ and said to them, 'Whoever may receive this child in my name, does receive me, and whoever may receive me, does receive Him who sent me, for he who is least among you all -- he shall be great.'

¹⁵ John does testify concerning him, and has cried, saying, 'This was he of whom I said, He who after me is coming, has come before me, for he was before me;'

²⁷ of whom I am not worthy that I may loose the cord of his sandal.'

³⁰ 'Him it behooves to increase, and me to become less;

³⁵ he was the burning and shining lamp, and you did will to be glad, for an hour, in his light.

³⁹ and this he said of the Spirit, which those believing in him were about to receive; for not yet was the Holy Spirit, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

⁴¹ and many came unto him, and said -- 'John, indeed, did no sign, and all things, as many as John said about this one were true;'

²⁵ And to Him who is able to establish you, according to my good news, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the secret, in the times of the ages having been kept silent, ²⁶ and now having been made manifest, also, through prophetic writings, according to a command of the age-during God, having been made known to all the nations for obedience of faith --

⁴ of the things of life, indeed, then, if you may have judgment, those despised in the assembly -- these cause you to sit;

⁹ for I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I did persecute the assembly of God,

³ among whom also we all did walk once in the desires of our flesh, doing the wishes\'7bdesires\'7d of the flesh and of the thoughts, and were by nature children of wrath -- as also the others,

⁸ to me -- the less than the least of all the saints -- was given this grace, among the nations to proclaim good news -- the untraceable riches of the Christ,

²⁶ the secret that has been hid from the ages and from the generations, but now was manifested to his saints, ²⁷ to whom God did will to make known what is the riches of the glory of this secret among the nations -- which is Christ in you, the hope of the glory,

¹⁰ and was made manifest now through the manifestation of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who indeed did abolish death, and did enlighten life and immortality through the good news,

⁴⁰ God for us something better having provided, that apart from us they might not be made perfect.
