¹¹ the Pharisee having stood by himself, thus prayed: God, I thank You that I am not as the rest of men, rapacious, unrighteous, adulterers, or even as this tax-gatherer;

⁷ And having seen many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming about his baptism, he said to them, 'Brood of vipers! Who did show you to flee from the coming wrath? ⁸ Bear, therefore, fruits worthy of the reformation, ⁹ and do not think to say in yourselves, A father we have -- Abraham, for I say to you, that God is able out of these stones to raise children to Abraham, ¹⁰ and now also, the axe unto the root of the trees is laid, every tree therefore not bearing good fruit is hewn down, and to fire is cast.

⁵ 'And when you may pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, because they love in the synagogues, and in the corners of the broad places -- standing -- to pray, that they may be seen of men; verily I say to you, that they have their reward.

¹⁸ He said to him, 'What kind?' And Jesus said, 'You shall not kill, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness, ¹⁹ honour your father and mother, and, you shall love your neighbor as yourself.' ²⁰ The young man said to him, 'All these did I keep from my youth; what yet do I lack?'

²⁵ 'And whenever you may stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against any one, that your Father also who is in the heavens may forgive you your trespasses;

⁴⁷ who devour the houses of the widows, and for a pretence make long prayers, these shall receive more abundant judgment.'

⁷ for who does make you to differ? and what have you, that you did not receive? and if you did also receive, why do you glory as not having received? ⁸ Already you are having been filled, already you were rich, apart from us you did reign, and I would also you did reign, that we also with you may reign together,

⁹ for I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I did persecute the assembly of God, ¹⁰ and by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace that is towards me came not in vain, but more abundantly than they all did I labour, yet not I, but the grace of God that is with me;

¹⁰ for as many as are of works of law are under a curse, for it has been written, 'Cursed is every one who is not remaining in all things that have been written in the Book of the Law -- to do them,'

⁶ according to zeal persecuting the assembly! according to righteousness that is in law becoming blameless!

¹² And I give thanks to him who enabled me -- Christ Jesus our Lord -- that he did reckon me stedfast, having put me to the ministration, ¹³ who before was speaking evil, and persecuting, and insulting, but I found kindness, because, being ignorant, I did it in unbelief, ¹⁴ and exceedingly abound did the grace of our Lord, with faith and love that is in Christ Jesus: ¹⁵ stedfast is the word, and of all acceptation worthy, that Christ Jesus came to the world to save sinners -- first of whom I am; ¹⁶ but because of this I found kindness, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all long-suffering, for a pattern of those about to believe on him to life age-during:

⁹ and if you accept persons, sin you do work, being convicted by the law as transgressors; ¹⁰ for whoever the whole law shall keep, and shall stumble in one point, he has become guilty of all; ¹¹ for He who is saying, 'You may not commit adultery,' said also, 'You may do no murder;' and if you shall not commit adultery, and shall commit murder, you have become a transgressor of law; ¹² so speak you and so do, as about by a law of liberty to be judged,

¹⁷ because you sayest -- I am rich, and have grown rich, and have need of nothing, and have not known that you are the wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked,
