²⁵ and did not know her till she brought forth her son -- the first-born, and he called his name Jesus.

²⁶ Yes, Father, because so it was good pleasure before You.

²¹ In that hour was Jesus glad in the Spirit, and said, 'I do confess to you, Father, Lord of the heaven and of the earth, that You did hide these things from wise men and understanding, and did reveal them to babes; yes, Father, because so it became good pleasure before You.

³² 'Men of Nineveh shall stand up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it, because they reformed at the proclamation of Jonah; and lo, greater than Jonah here!

¹² but as many as did receive him to them he gave authority to become sons of God -- to those believing in his name,

⁵² and not for the nation only, but that also the children of God, who have been scattered abroad, he may gather together into one.

¹⁷ Jesus said to her, 'Be not touching me, for I have not yet ascended unto my Father; and be going on to my brethren, and say to them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father, and to my God, and to your God.'

¹⁴ for as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God; ¹⁵ for you did not receive a spirit of bondage again for fear, but you did receive a spirit of adoption in which we cry, 'Abba -- Father.' ¹⁶ The Spirit himself does testify with our spirit, that we are children of God; ¹⁷ and if children, also heirs, heirs, indeed, of God, and heirs together of Christ -- if, indeed, we suffer together, that we may also be glorified together.

²³ And not only so, but also we ourselves, having the first-fruit of the Spirit, we also ourselves in ourselves do groan, adoption expecting -- the redemption of our body;

²⁹ because whom He did foreknow, He also did fore-appoint, conformed to the image of His Son, that he might be first-born among many brethren; ³⁰ and whom He did fore-appoint, these also He did call; and whom He did call, these also He declared righteous; and whom He declared righteous, these also He did glorify.

¹¹ (for they being not yet born, neither having done anything good or evil, that the purpose of God, according to choice, might remain; not of works, but of Him who is calling,) it was said to her -- ¹² 'The greater shall serve the less;' ¹³ according as it has been written, 'Jacob I did love, and Esau I did hate.' ¹⁴ What, then, shall we say? unrighteousness is with God? let it not be! ¹⁵ for to Moses He says, 'I will do kindness to whom I do kindness, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion;' ¹⁶ so, then -- not of him who is willing, nor of him who is running, but of God who is doing kindness:

¹ Paul, a called apostle of Jesus Christ, through the will of God, and Sosthenes the brother,

²¹ for, seeing in the wisdom of God the world through the wisdom knew not God, it did please God through the foolishness of the preaching to save those believing.

¹⁸ and I will be to you for a Father, and you -- you shall be to Me for sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.'

²⁶ for you are all sons of God through the faith in Christ Jesus,

⁵ that those under law he may redeem, that the adoption of sons we may receive; ⁶ and because you are sons, God did send forth the spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, 'Abba, Father!'

⁹ having made known to us the secret of His will, according to His good pleasure, that He purposed in Himself,

¹¹ in whom also we did obtain an inheritance, being foreordained\'7bappointed beforehand, pre-selected\'7d according to the purpose of Him who the all things is working according to the counsel\'7bdesire\'7d of His will,

¹³ for God it is who is working in you both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

¹¹ for which also we do pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of the calling, and may fulfil all the good pleasure of goodness, and the work of the faith in power,

¹⁰ For it was becoming to Him, because of whom are the all things, and through whom are the all things, many sons to glory bringing, the author of their salvation through sufferings to make perfect, ¹¹ for both he who is sanctifying and those sanctified are all of one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, ¹² saying, 'I will declare Your name to my brethren, in the midst of an assembly I will sing praise to You;' and again, 'I will be trusting on Him;' ¹³ and again, 'Behold I and the children that God did give to me.' ¹⁴ Seeing, then, the children have partaken of flesh and blood, he himself also in like manner did take part of the same, that through death he might destroy him having the power of death -- that is, the devil -- ¹⁵ and might deliver those, whoever, with fear of death, throughout all their life, were subjects of bondage,

⁵ and you have forgotten the exhortation that does speak fully with you as with sons, 'My son, be not despising chastening of the Lord, nor be faint, being reproved by Him, ⁶ for whom the Lord does love He does chasten, and He scourges every son whom He receives;' ⁷ if chastening you endure, as to sons God bears Himself to you, for who is a son whom a father does not chasten? ⁸ and if you are apart from chastening, of which all have become partakers, then bastards are you, and not sons. ⁹ Then, indeed, fathers of our flesh we have had, chastising us, and we were reverencing them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of the spirits, and live?

¹ See you what love the Father has given to us, that children of God we may be called; because of this the world does not know us, because it did not know Him;

⁷ he who is overcoming shall inherit all things, and I will be to him -- a God, and he shall be to me -- the son,
