¹⁶ every Writing is God-breathed, and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for setting aright\'7bcorrection\'7d, for instruction that is in righteousness,

⁵² And he said to them, 'Because of this every scribe having been discipled in regard to the reign of the heavens, is like to a man, a householder, who does bring forth out of his treasure things new and old.'

⁴² Jesus said to them, 'Did you never read in the Writings, A stone that the builders disallowed, it became head of a corner; from the Lord has this come to pass, and it is wonderful in our eyes.

³¹ And concerning the rising again of the dead, did you not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying, ³² I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not a God of dead men, but of living.'

⁴³ He said to them, 'How then does David in the Spirit call him lord, saying,

⁵⁴ How then may the Writings be fulfilled, that thus it behooves to happen?'

⁵⁶ but all this has come to pass, that the Writings of the prophets may be fulfilled;' then all the disciples, having left him, fled.

²⁴ And Jesus answering said to them, 'Do you not because of this go astray, not knowing the Writings, nor the power of God?

³⁶ for David himself said in the Holy Spirit, The Lord said to my lord, Sit you on My right hand, till I place your enemies -- your footstool;

²⁰ for every one who is doing wicked things hates the light, and does not come unto the light, that his works may not be detected;

³⁵ if them he did call gods unto whom the word of God came, (and the Writing is not able to be broken,)

¹⁶ 'Men, brethren, it behoved this Writing that it be fulfilled that beforehand the Holy Spirit spake through the mouth of David, concerning Judas, who became guide to those who took Jesus,

²⁵ this one was instructed in the way of the Lord, and being fervent in the Spirit, was speaking and teaching exactly the things about the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John;

²⁰ how nothing I did keep back of what things are profitable, not to declare to you, and to teach you publicly, and in every house,

²⁷ for I did not keep back from declaring to you all the counsel of God.

²⁵ And not being agreed with one another, they were going away, Paul having spoken one word -- 'Well did the Holy Spirit speak through Isaiah the prophet unto our fathers,

²⁰ an instructor of foolish ones, a teacher of babes, having the form of the knowledge and of the truth in the law.

² much in every way; for first, indeed, that they were entrusted with the oracles of God;

²³ And it was not written on his account alone, that it was reckoned to him,

⁴ for, as many things as were written before, for our instruction were written before, that through the endurance, and the exhortation of the Writings, we might have the hope.

⁷ And to each has been given the manifestation of the Spirit for profit;

⁸ and the Writing having foreseen that by faith God does declare righteous the nations did proclaim before the good news to Abraham --

¹¹ and He gave some as apostles\'7bcouriers, ones dispatched\'7d, and some as prophets, and some as proclaimers of good news, and some as shepherds and teachers, ¹² unto the perfecting\'7bmaking complete\'7d of the saints, for a work of ministration\'7bservice\'7d, for a building up of the body of the Christ, ¹³ till we may all come to the unity of the faith and of the recognition\'7bcomplete knowledge\'7d of the Son of God, to a perfect\'7bcomplete\'7d man, to a measure of stature of the fulness of the Christ, ¹⁴ that we may no more be babes\'7binfants\'7d, tossed and borne about by every wind of the teaching, in the sleight\'7bwiles\'7d of men, in craftiness\'7bslyness\'7d, unto the artifice\'7bscheming\'7d of leading astray, ¹⁵ and, being true in love, we may increase to Him in all things, who is the head -- the Christ; ¹⁶ from whom the whole body, being fitly joined together and united, through the supply of every joint, according to the working in the measure of each single part, the increase of the body does make for the building up of itself in love.

¹¹ and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of the darkness and rather even convict\'7bexpose\'7d, ¹² for the things in secret done by them it is a shame even to speak of, ¹³ and all the things reproved\'7bexposed\'7d by the light are manifested\'7bmade clear, plain\'7d, for everything that is manifested\'7bmade clear, plain\'7d is light;

²⁵ in meekness instructing those opposing -- if perhaps God may give to them repentance to an acknowledging of the truth,

² preach the word; be earnest in season, out of season, convict, rebuke, exhort, in all long-suffering and teaching,

⁷ Therefore, (as the Holy Spirit says, 'To-day, if His voice you may hear --

¹² for the reckoning of God is living, and working, and sharp above every two-edged sword, and piercing unto the dividing asunder both of soul and spirit, of joints also and marrow, and a discerner of thoughts and intents of the heart;

¹ And faith is of things hoped for a confidence, of matters not seen a conviction,

¹⁹ And we have more firm the prophetic word, to which we do well giving heed, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, till day may dawn, and a morning star may arise -- in your hearts; ²⁰ this first knowing, that no prophecy of the Writing does come of private exposition, ²¹ for not by will of man did ever prophecy come, but by the Holy Spirit borne on holy men of God spake.
